Hurry up and sign the Yak

Comments (20)

I'm not sure if others are feeling the same but isn' this transfer dragging its heels?I also see on Sky Sports News that he will not sign in time for Saturday... why are we slow on the uptake when Heinze shows interest in joining Real Madrid and is shown 24 hours later being paraded around the pitch. This transfer window has really pissed me off

I can’t understand this work permit thing - if he wasn’t moving he could play for Boro on Saturday, so why not us?

UK work permit rules are far more stringent than on the continent (how else did De Silva get to play in Spain but not here).

Also, according to the Echo, it will be rejected because he’s not been playing for Nigeria following a fall out with the coach. Everton will then have to appeal.

It’s crazy that the permit is not transferrable when that person is remaining in the same "trade".

This transfer window has Pissed you off???????????????????????? Come on, it may have been slow to take off for us but we have signed pure quality.
Yakubu deal has taken us two days (quicker than normal for us) we are waiting on a work permit which is out of our hands. Fernandes, again we have done our bit, and he is training with the squad, Premier league cant afford another Tevez type mess so are being extra careful. Again this is out of our hands.
We have also signed Jagielka and Baines again brilliant squad/team improving signings.
Yes we can drag our signings out but for a club with little money to waste we must make extra sure with medicals etc. so that we are going to get our moneys worth.

For fucks sake lay off Moyes and Kenwright for once, they have for the second summer transfer window in a row pulled it out of the bag. Start bloody praising them when its due rather than finding an unnecessary negative.

Well Done Moyes, Well done Bill, Keep up the good work.

What would happen if the work permit will not be granted by the end of August 2007?

Like you guys I’m more interestd in what the team do, not wher we play. If we don’t have Yak upfront tommorow Rovers will turn us over. I have always said Andrerew Johnson will never score the goals needed, that’s why Man U, etc were never interested in him. It was either us or Wigan.

I’m not sure how long it takes to get the permit, but my understanding is they have to registered 24 hours before kick off. We don’t kick off until 5:15pm tomorrow so I think there is still a chance it will all me sorted.

Joe Mc -

I agree about being more intetested in the team!
But, dont talk shite! AJ is the best forward we have had in years! Its not all about his goals, ask Arteta, Osman, Vaughan, Anichebe! They all benefit from his selfless team work and contstant running for the cause!

I think Yak and AJ will be awesome!

Even if we only have AJ on saturday, bring in Pienaar and play AJ on his own, i still take us to turn them over!

Howard

Jagielka
Yobo
Lescott
Baines

Arteta
Carsley
Neville
Osman
Pienaar

AJ!

The transfer window has pissed me off craig because the one posistion we are short on is upfront me old beautie, which is why we dident beat reading, and the chances are we will struggle a tad against blackburn, as for johnson i went to school with him in bedford so lay off him hes a decent bloke who works his socks off, unlike a few other strikers we have had we should applaud that.

Work Permits are issued for a specific job with a specific company.

If someone wishes to switch to a new job with a new company they have to apply for a new work permit.

Fernandes: yes or no? Well, has he signed or what. Can someone "in the know", confirm what is going on???

Has he signed?
Has he been training with the squad this week?

Sean Mac- Ok point taken. I’m just a little frsutrated as like all of us I long for a striker who scores 25 a season.

joe- dont get me wrong mate. we all r cravin 4 sum1 to score 20 plus but to do that in the prem these days is near impossible. Owen has never scored 20 goals in a season in the prem (2 seasons gettin 19 i fink)......an he can finish whether we like it or not. i can understand ur point on johnson. i jus feel together, them two can set out to become what beattie and johnson were meant to create. but manny an yak r proven quality......cum on you blues!!!!

dissapointed with kirkby but life moves on eh.....

Reuben,
Won’t matter. Aug 31 is just the deadline for player registrations (transfers), not permit status.
He is eligible to play for us the day his permit is approved whether its before or after the window shuts

Well, this is great, a move with I actually think was going to happen anyway, I love this Club, I am 47 and still buy 3 papers to read all reports on the team, but I honestly think it is disgusting the way the club treat their fans, Goodison is a dump, but it has a heart, like the Club has a heart, I honestly cannot imagine anything worse than being a Red, ok, loads of money, blah blah, but Everton are different, very different, and the sooner some people realise that, the better. People told me on here that once the vote was cast, Fernandes and Yakubu would be displayed....have you seen the official site? A few days ago, we were told that the Everton Ladies were doing well, well great, but is Van der Meyde off the booze?, Where are the signings, why cant we ever get clear concise information from the club? Is it Kenwright, I dont know...the 'Peoples Club', what a joke...it is bigger than that Kenny Boy, you better believe it.
