Injury worries ahead of Blackburn Game

Comments (17)

It seems we have quite a few injury worries ahead of tomorrow's game. Long-term absentees Cahill and Vaughan as well as Yobo, Johnson and Anichebe which are all marked as doubtful. Not to mention Yakubu being ineligable due to paperwork not being completed on time.

Let's hope Baines is fit and Yobo, Johnson and Anichebe pass fitness tests because otherwise we may struggle against a team I particularly dislike. Come on you blue boys.

I totally agree with anyone who states that Everton is utterly ineptly run. With Johnson´s and Anichebe´s fitness both being major doubts for tomorrow´s game, you don´t need to have a degree in astro physics to know that the timely signing of Yakubu was essential in order to lead the line against Blackburn. Now we hear that he needs a fucking work permit. Why the fuck didn´t they get a move on earlier in the week if they knew this to be the case? The mind boggles.

Anyone who wants to have a pop at me for whingeing is welcome to it but by Saturday 5pm we will be 4 games into the season and things will only get tougher what with Man U and the derby looming. Get your bloody act together people!

Lets wait until 5:15 tomorrow (which is kick-off time, not 3) and see who’s available. Word is that AJ should be fit and Baines could be fit. As for the Yakubu paperwork, it is nonsense but the Yak brought it on himself by falling out with the Nigerian national coach and not playing the required amount of games - unfortunately permit cant be passed from one team to another which means he could continue to play for Boro but we need to re-apply, get rejected, and appeal on the grounds he’s been playing here for 5 years. So basically our two biggest signings of the summer are tied up in red tape and paperwork.

Ah Tony Marsh, ever the optimist!!

In my opinion i think EFC is enjoying a re-birth if anything rather than a death. An unobstructed new stadium (in terms of location and views) with improved income stream in the offing, a chief exec who seems to actually deliver on his targets and promises (whatever anyone else says), a superb young manager who is honest as the day is long and fiercely committed and perhaps the best squad the club has had in 20 years. Yep, the club is on it’s knees alright!

Anyway back to matters on the pitch, I hope and suspect that Johnson will be able to start tommorow.
The prospect of playing McFadden as a lone striker(he does have his moments, but is more of a second striker than a centre forward) with Arteta, Pienaar and Neville(shudders) as our attacking entities against a physical Blackburn reargaurd doesn’t fill me with confidence.
Blackburn are missing Nielsen through suspension(would have preferred if it were Samba. Would have needed the strength of Anichebe/Yakubu. Ah well.

Now that only 28% of eligible voters said No, can we start talking about the football again? I'm looking forward to a resounding win against Blackburn, and with Yakubu and Fernandes still to get into the starting 11 I am anticipating a very good season where we may (with a bit of luck) get back into the top 4.

AJ is the main concern I guess.

Moyes is listing AJ, Victor, Yobo and Ossie as injury worries.

We can cope without Yobo, Baines can come in at left back, with Stubbs and Lescott in the middle.

Victor and Ossie we can also cope without if necessary, but if AJ is out we are left with Victor and McFadden up front, not sure if I am overjoyed at that idea.

You’ll have to ask the editors why they removed it but he basically said the writer was a twat and we shouldn’t worry about team selection "on the day everton died".

Uh-oh, they’ll probably remove this now....

Well it seems i have been branded by an ever popular Tony Marsh because i was more interested in the game tomorrow. As the vote has happened there is nothing i can do about it, so as far as i am concerned bring on Blackburn. At the end of the day, Everton is the most important thing in the world to an Evertonian and its Everton playing tomorrow. Let’s get behind them and bring another 3 points home. COYB
