"Hopefully in the next week or so we can strengthen the squad - but you never be confident until it's done." ? These are Moyes´s comments post Blackburn game. This could be what we are all fearing deep down, that Yak and Fernandes won´t sign at all. Please pretty please prove me wrong Davey!

I for one always thought it was a smokescreen for the Kirkby vote. I look forward to being proven wrong though.

That’s just Moyes way both will sign unless a technical hitch apears.

I doubt this to be honest and believe they will be on the pitch for our next home match bar injury.

Moyes cannot say for definate until they are paraded on the pitch as if he did and it fell through he would be castigated.

Anyway I allways have a half full glass.

I would be surprised if they buggered off after what they saw in the first half today. Moyes will have them on the bench for their first couple of games to ’bed in’. Wouldn’t want to upset team spirit now would we??? -utter horse shit

Mine’s always half empty.
I sincerely hope I am proved wrong and that all this talk of Yak and Manny is not the smokescreen I fear.
It is quite remarkable however, that almost every other team seems to sign players one day, and play them the next without any hinderance and talk about permits or ownership issues.
We need these two players, and my hopes have been built up about them coming to us, so to repeat the earlier plea, please, pretty please, do the biz Moyes.

I hope the ’groin injuries’ broke Moyes’ faith in the team today. We looked a lot better when Neville switched to right back, and Jags was in midfield with Joleon partnering Joey.

Tony Hibbert is a wholehearted performer, but his limitations now show through, as he was at fault again for their goal, and his distribution is average at best.

We need Manny in midfield with the Jag so that we are not scared of receiving the ball, which leads to the hoofball we all appear to hate, and which makes absolutely no sense when they have a no-nonsense 6’5" centre half.

Forget the sentimental crap Moysie, and lets see our next game starting line up as:-

Howard
Neville Yobo Lescott Baines
Arteta Fernandes Jagielka Pienaar
Yakubu Johnson

Bench
Wessels,Anichebe,Stubbs,MacFadden,Osman

I believe this will show real intent at Bolton, and will be interesting when Vaughan and Cahill are available.

Baines was Evertons’ best performer today for my money - Moyes’ money well spent.

Couldn’t agree more with that team selection Keith, spot on but sounds far too adventurous for Moyes

Yakubu looks to be a likely signing if Everton can get government permission to play him.

If they turn us down is the deal off or what ?

Who knows....who just knows ?

Fernades and Vogel are still rumoured to be possible signings and RIQUELME IS STILL FOR SALE !

Moves inward and out in the next week ?

Quite possible ?

Could be an interesting few days !

Are you being serious Robert?

The Yak would have played today but for the farcical work permit issue, both clubs have conformd the sale, or are they both lying.

Either Moyes is stupid or a liar, as he has confirmed that Manny has signed but are waiting for the papers to clear.

Or is it the old "Woe is me, all the club workers are liars and this is simply a smokesceen for the Kirkby vote".......Please!!!

Spoke to a mate’s girlfriend who’s sister lives next door to Moyes cleaner.

Aparently Allan’s Nan will be signed before Saturday.

Although there’s a rumour she like’s a tipple of sherry each night, fingers crossed this won’t be another Andy VM in the team.....

So let me get this straight in my head. You are criticising Moyes for his team selection for games that we haven’t played yet because he won’t pick players that we haven’t signed?

You’re a real bundle of joy aren’t you?

According to the Sunday Mirror this morning (so it must be true) the Premier League won’t let us complete on Manny unless we buy out the third party interest.

AAggghhhhh, ffs people!

Both deals are only being held up by red tape, all fees have been agreed, all personal terms are agreed, its only a work permit and ratification from the FA & premier league stopping Manny signing.

Its just paperwork, be patient.

Jeez.

Dave, ’would’ should have read ’wouldn’t’ - typo there, the lager kicking in. What I’m trying to say quite generally is that Moyes isn’t dynamic enough and this team is being held back, we are wasting the opportunity to pick up points through ill-thought out team selections and tactics. With Moyes, he likes his new players to ’bed in’ which means benching them - look at Jageilka - It’s taken 4 games for Jagielka to get in the side and from the evidence of yesterday he should have been in from the start of the season...blah...blah.... I WANT MOYES TO START BLOODY GOING FOR IT FOR GODS SAKE!!!!

If they need help bedding in, I’m yer man. I work for the biggest Bed manufacturers in the world. If anybody has my mate Jimmy Martins’ (EFC Kit Manager)new mobile number, ask him to ring me and I’ll get the boys sorted pre-season, so we can start with our strongest team instead of waiting for Moysie’s favourites to play themselves out of the side.

Every little helps, or is that an open wound still ????
