The Mail Bag

Faddy & Impact Players

Great goal by McFadden yesterday, following an impressive substitute appearance last week, gives me some hope that we might finally be about to see the best of him consistently. As other posters have rightly pointed out in the past, he's been very hit and miss so far, but he's definitely getting better in my opinion. I just wonder is he better coming off the bench and making something happen?

Theres a lot to be said for impact players on the bench, people who when they come on really change things up. I think Anichebe at the moment is this type of player as I think he gives us a different option up front, but he's just not at first team starter level yet. While Faddy can be VERY frustrating running into blind alleys and doing one too many twists and turns, he definitely gives us a different dimension when he plays.

I hate it when Anichebe comes on. From every other ball being hoofed upfield it reverts to every ball being hoofed & quite frankly Victors first touch is very poor... must work in training??
