Michael, only a few days ago you published a letter stating quite clearly that the corosive views of Tony Marsh would not be tolerated and that you had banned him from contributing to the site.
I log on today, to find the man is still being published and is still listed as a columnist. His latest mail, off the back of the Fernandes deal imploding, is as bitter and divisive as anything previous. Yet again he attacks fellow Blues without provocation and the only difference this time is that he has not resorted to swearing to 'emphasise' his dubious points.
I had applauded you for the stance you took over the rants we were subjected to last week (and prior to that), but if you had no intention of prohibiting Mr Marsh's 'contributions' why on earth did you say you were?

Sorry to cause the initial confusion, Steve. The rubbish Tony submitted on Friday (in full-fledged response to 'losing' the vote) pushed me over the edge. There was no way I was publishing it.
Today's reponse form Tony Marsh to the absolute fiasco that is unfolding on the transfer front is, in comparisson, measured and reasonable. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you look beyond what might be upsetting you in Tony's presentation, and focus on the fundemental issues he is raising, which should be of extreme concern for all Blues. And before you raise the "conspiracy theory" flag, note that even the tame journos at the Liverpool Echo haven't got a clue what's going on.

Steve, you need to switch off from the guys that rant against the club. The Manny cock up is clearly not BK?s or the CEO?s fault.... just a greedy footballer!! Some guys will blame the board for anything and everything...Im confident they have made some howlers in the past but this aint one of them.
TW is, to say the very least, biased against BK and the club but it allows most to have their say... which is good. Mr Marsh probably hates his own reflection..if TW persist in allowing him to abuse people then perhaps we just need to switch TW off.

I wanna read some bile aimed at the Board re (wo)Manny (it’s a women’s prerogative to change her mind) so the Tony Marsh rant would be appreciate...so where the fuck is it??

Steve grow up will you mate.Your acting like a big girl. What I have posted today is not offensive to Evertonians. I understand why you feel the need to lash out.Its hard admitting you have been conned.Like buying a Dvd player down the market and when you get home its a house brick in the box.Thats what heppening to you guys at the moment. Its ok though blame me if you want.I am sure you will vindicate BK and Wyness in all this.Helps you save face you see.

Steve, what’s your problem with Tony’s post?It wasn’t offensive,it wasn’t full of swearing,It didn’t have a go at you.I just think there is a lot of fans who contribute to this website who have a hidden agenda against Tony, and every chance they get, they stir it up.You lads just need to grow up.

Steve, all I can say is that you should have a look at another of the, ahem, leading Everton websites today (it’s got a colour in its name) and check out its utterly benign "don’t you just love the Blues, eh?" response to the Manny farce. And tell me that’s not because it’s unwittingly found itself too cozy with EFC over the last few years, with the result that it’s effectively muzzled itself. I don’t know a single Blue today who isn’t furious about the Manny situation, regardless of whether it’s the player’s, the club’s, Moyes’, Wyness’ or BK’s fault. Thank god for TW, I say for being truly independent from the club and it’s days like these when Tony Marsh gets the tone spot-on.

Greg Murphy, if you can’t tolerate sarcasm, don’t read it.
(That goes for the Tony Marsh bashers as well.)

Dare I say it, but fair play to Tony Marsh for saying what everyone is thinking.
You can’t say that you’ve signed a player etc. and then he goes and signs for another club and then nothing....not a dickie bird. We do need answers, hopefully someone will give us them.

I asked a simple question based on what was declared by the TW editors recently. Thank you for your reply Michael.
As far as the other comments I am as usual left feeling frustrated by those who take one set of comments and then infer a whole load of stuff which should not be implied if people weren’t trying to serve their own agendas. So Mr. Marsh et al, I don’t feel the need to ’grow up’ and I don’t need patronising. I am lashing out at no one, just looking for consistency. Classic Marsh. How have I been conned ? You imply that I voted ’yes’ to a stadium move because I was swayed by potential big money signings and as a result of Fernandes not arriving I have been fooled. What twaddle. I have explained my reasoning for a yes vote elsewhere on this site and none of it was to do with such ridiculous short termism as player’s signing for the Club or otherwise. I am as pissed off as anyone that the Fernandes deal has fallen through, but can only see a player with the patience of a gnat. He must have understood the complexity of the deal and if he had really wanted to play for us would have displayed a bit more application. Neither you nor I know what has gone on with this deal and the obstacles or otherwise that Everton have had to surmount, but I don’t then just assume it’s anyone’s fault. Shit happens. I am not and never have been an apologist for BK, Moyes or Wyness, but unlike you I don’t blame them for everthing from the fall of Rome to my corns hurting just because it suits my agenda.

Peter Singer - If you’re still reading, then genuinely, I don’t know what you’re referring to? But I am curious. Which sarcasm have I misinterpreted? And I’m not being sarcastic here, either. Just confused.

I do still read this thread, Greg. I was referring to the sentence "Don’t you just love the Toffeemen, they just never let you down.", which I can only interpret as pure sarcasm.
Then again, I might be wrong. But I still believe that there’s really no point in reading things you don’t like, and I think many readers here are just waiting for Tony to write something so they can get angry and sling some mud in his general direction. Life’s too short for that though.

Steve - On the day that Kenwright & Co have cocked up again you have the cheek to have a go at Tony Marsh. It’s pitiful that people like you will have a vendetta against someone who cares about our club while you don’t mind the current regime making us a laughing stock. Wake up and realise what’s going on at Everton. Because it’s just unbelievable that this nonsense just goes on and on.

Hello again, Peter, sorry for the delay: well possibly it may have been sarcasm but I more interpreted BlueKipper saying that as a bit of a cop-out, especially when they could have said something a bit more edgy on such a day. Just thought it was an easy way out, that’s all. It just smacked to me of Bluekipper shruggin its shoulders in an "ever thus" way. Only my opinion, mind - ironically it’s one that Tony Marsh shares - but I really think BlueKipper has lost its way in recent years. That’s why I value Toffeeweb’s independence so much and, as I said on here last week, it was actually the fact that the likes of Tony Marsh features (but I like the polar-opposite stuff that the likes of Messrs Barks, Spargo and Roberts post as well) that first attracted me to TW. As an aside, though, about what I still think was BlueKipper’s meekness today: how can I know in advance, before I read something, whether it’s gonna be sarcastic (not that I have a problem with sarcasm anyway - when it’s executed well, which I didn’t think BlueKipper did)?
Anyway, last word to you Blue if you want. Cheers.
