Show me the money!

Show me the money ... show me the signings of Luis Gonzales, Manuel Fernandes, Yakubu or somebody else, anybody else... who can kick a ball in a straight line without having to resort to hoofball!

This stinks to high heaven ... Why when over the last 20 years we have had no cash, suddenly we are swimming in it ... and it's all to fund moving to the 'next level' on the pitch and off it?!

Why, when the board openly admits that we need to use at least some 'internal funding' for Kirkby do we suddenly start being frivolous in the transfer market?

Why, when David Moyes says that he won't be fooled into spending 'silly money' in the transfer 'silly season' do we suddenly bid 20 million (+ wages) for just TWO players... a couple of years ago all we could afford was Marcus Bent for gods sake?!

Why does transferring such players turn out to be more complicated than solving a quadratic equation whilst blindfolded with your hands tied behind your back... how the hell can Man City sign eight players from all corners of the fucking globe in a matter of a few days without such issues?

Where is the money ... why are all Everton transfers so protracted ... why do the big money deals almost ALWAYS fall through? Kuyt / Owen / Gonzalez / Smith / Fernandes .... Yakubu?

Why are we continually fed this PR spin shit in the media only to be continually, consistently, let down... squad size still NOT increased from last year... in fact 'decreased' if you count Pistone !

What the hell is going on? It's as if the club never really want such players in the first place, as if these deals are made up for sadistic pleasure or as a mechanism by which to promote some other agenda... maybe, just maybe, the MONEY isn't really there at all?

At least the truth will be known by next week...

Lets not start demanding Moyes spends big just to prove the money is there.

Remember we want Moyes to bring in the players he feels can improve the squad not waste it on over-priced average players (Nugent) just to prove we have the money.

If he has to wait until January to get the players he wants thats his decision.

Lots of very good questions but I doubt you’ll find out many of the answers.
Maybe by next week we’ll know about Yakubu. Beyond that, I doubt we will be any the wiser.
BK & KW only tell the punters what they want them to know. The rest remains behind closed doors.

Dutch, your glass is always half-full mate... everyone knows we need re-enforcements NOW - midfielder and strker ... There are always players available and if we truly have got the money then why wait until we are out of three cup competitions and stagnating in the lower half of the premiership.

Ideally we would have a fully fit squad all the time and we wouldn’t be in need of such re-enforcements but Vaughan and Cahill will be out for a while still... what’s the betting when they do return that the club will come out with the usual ’like signing a new player’ crap !

No more talk about what went wrong, and do we have time to sign a replacement etc.
Let’s put our collective effort in getting Kenwright out. All others matters are now secondady.

We all think we know that the squad needs strengthening but what do we know? Only David Moyes is a two-time manager of the year.

Its his decision when to buy players and who those players will be.

Let Moyes make the decisions. And if those decisions are wrong and Everton are struggling come January then sack him for it.

Course thats unlikely because Moyes has a habit of making the right decisions.

Remember when everyone said holding onto 4th would be impossible if we sold Graveson? Or how everyone was so sure that Moyes would regret not signing Ferrari and would find it impossible to get another defender as good (about a week later Moyes found Lescott).

Moyes makes good decisions, just ask Harry Redknapp if Moyes made the right choice regarding Nugent.

Hey Dutch.....perhaps we should ask Harry Redknapp if Moyes made the right choice when the crafty cockney kidded the dour scotsman into taking Beattie.

Funny thing is Beattie is looking a decent transfer compared to Andy ’Couldn’t score in a brothel’ Johnson.

I was talking about Beattie in blue not red + white. Perhaps Kidd knows something about attacking play that Moyes doesn’t.

Maybe Andy Johnson is just a lousy goalscorer.

Or maybe, Dutch, Andy Johnson spends all of his time on the pitch chasing aimless balls down the channels or trying to outjump 6ft plus centre halves. Very hard to be a goal machine with little or no decent service.

Been supporting the Blues for over 40 years and I have 2 say, this negativity and cynicism is ’doing my head in’! I was hoping for better from this site and the loyal bluenoses on it. I’m frustrated, 2 right I am, but all this negativity is so depressing. WHERE’S THE PROZAC?!!!

Been fishing at Bass Lake tonight and got a few Perch - no Pike, but I’m still chuffed to bits.

Hows that for positive thinking???

AJ isn’t great at finishing goals when he gets the oppurtunity, but he doesn’t ever get to run on to a ball, our style is more like the Mexican League then anything, kick it down the pitch, and chase it.

I don’t know how people can slag off Johnson when Ferguson is regarded as a "legend." At least Johnson got into double figures last season and at least he scored a lot of goals for Palace in the prem previously. He is having a bad run but at least he has the decency to be shit when we are doing OK so it doesn’t matter as much. I don’t think he is the greatest finisher but let’s not forget that when Gary Lineker scored 40 goals in a season for us that Howard Kendall felt he disrupted our style. The next season we had Sharp, Heath and Clarke each scoring a handful of goals and yet we won the league. Goal machines aren’t everything but I for one like players who a)knacker the other teams defenders by working their arses off b)stay out of jail and are on the injured list for less than 9 months of the year and c)put up with shit from whiney fans who now oddly have developed a fondness for a fat waste of space called Beattie.

Dutch, my gullible friend

I am a 32 times out of 47 shafted supporter of the year. This shas nowt to do with Moyses; he’s being shafted along with the rest of us (unless he’s in on it - but, having spoken to the man and looked into his eyes, I don’t believe he’s a willing dupe

According to the Actim stats, Andy Johnson is currently higher than Didier Drogba. Yeah, I don’t know how that works either. Our top two are Stubbs and Hibbert.

Let’s not start getting on AJ’s back. I’ve seen a growing frustration with him on here and within my Everton friends. So far this season, he’s looked a much more well rounded player. Moyes wants him to get that killer touch but we can all see he’s far too humble a lad for it (probably why we’re after the goal-machine, Yakubu) and the criticism from Mourinho last year is still affecting his game.

I do, however, agree with Dutch that we shouldn’t get on Moyes’ back. And I think that should go for Kenwright too at the moment, especially if people are trying to use the Manny snub as a stick to beat us with. It certainly looks like it’s his advisors who’ve screwed both us and the lad himself.

Dutch, if AJ is suddenly an average striker..who’s fault is that then?

Oh, that would be Moyes’ right? I mean, he bought him.

Yet, I thought you said Moyes has a habit of making the right decisions

You contradict yourself there Dutch which proves what utter tosh you write sometimes.

Personally, I think AJ is a decent striker who’s in in a team that’s not playing to his strengths. Which is Moyes’ fault again for employing long-ball tactics.

I don’t think the Yak is worth 11.25 either..but that’s another story.

Loyalty... What loyalty?

Why does anyone expect any footballer to show loyalty to a club? Why shouldn't Fernandes sign for the club offering him the most money? We want players who will play for the shirt! Do me a favour.

Look at our list of supposed Evertonians who showed no loyalty to us - Rooney, Jeffers, Speed all left for more money. The other true blue, Stubbs, made money out of the Rooney transfer. Cahill only signed a new well paid contract last year yet by courting West Ham this summer along with Arteta they both get to sign new contracts for more money. Even our legend Duncan Ferguson ripped us off for the money he took off our club.

The game of football is fucked, there is no loyalty and every player involved is in it for the money.
