Liverpool Football Club should be applauded for agreeing to allow Z-Cars to be played at Anfield tonight, as a mark of respect for young Rhys.
Well done, Reds.

I`d just like to say well done to lfc for their tribute to little Rhys Jones.
Although people might not want to praise our fierce rivals, I think they deserve our praise for their tribute and its good to see the two clubs and city unite in this tragedy.

If there more biased fans(we have the same type ourselves)show the respect then I doff my cap in respect hopefully this could be the first step in curbing the nastiness of both sides supporters

I pretty much hate LFC but I can happily put that aside today and give credit where its due, this is a massive gesture and a great mark of respect for the memory of the young lad.

I’m a Red and what always baffles me is the violent hostility some fans on both sides have for each other. Considering that you get so many families in Liverpool who hvae family memebers supportingthe rival clubs. I think what happened to Rhys should put a lot of things into perspective. My thoughts are with the Jones family. YNWA.

I have the utmost respet for all concerned and thoughts are obviously with his poor family at the moment. My only worry is that it turns into the media circus that the McCann saga has become. There has to come a point, and hopefully ASAP that it all calms down. Don’t shoot me down for these comments, hopefully you’ll see my point.
Well done to the reds though.

Liverpool. Bloody typical! Just when you want to love hating them, they go and do something like this: they're going to play "Z-Cars" at Anfield tonight in response to requests from their fans in tribute to Rhys Jones. Nice touch. Fair play to them.

Fantastic gesture, credit where credit’s due. The question is, would we do the same in such a situation - I certainly hope we would. Rest in piece, a tragic loss.

I think it is brilliant that we live in a city where both sides of the footballing city have teams that have passion, love and rivalry to match any derby, but what we have is respect and pretty much a healthy relationship as far as fan relationships go!
I too dislike the reds, hate is too strong a word but they do deserve an aweful lot of credit for this action, no other football rivalry would do such a thing!
Rhys I hope the city has done you and your family proud mate, and maybe a great gesture from EFC would be to keep a seat by the dugout of the new stadium empty in memory of rhys. again well done reds.

I feel this is a great tribute to try and help the Parents and Family of Rhys. It shows the City of Liverpool united for once.

Giving Ryhs a seat at the new stadium in his memory would be an amazing gesture from the club should it ever to happen, what would anyone else think? Or some other sort of memorial gesture?

I admit that over the last few days and weeks I have been extremely angry with things that have gone on at Everton and have posted various times. I live in Seville and am on hand to see the grief which the death of Sevilla FC´s Antonio Puerta has caused today. A 22-year-old talented wing back with the world at his feet. His girlfriend is 8 months pregnant and he was to be a dad for the first time.
The two sets of fans in the city, Seville and Betis, have come together in a very emotional and heart warming way. I saw that LFC are playing Z cars tonight on honour of Rhys Jones. Bravo. There are more important things in life than whether Fernandes signs. This kind of thing puts any anger we have felt towards our club into quite some perspective. Rest in Peace.

What a fantastic touch by Liverpool FC tonight, playing that song in their ground as a tribute to Rhys Jones. It has always saddened me how the derbies have degenerated into outright hatred, I hope this can be the start of a friendlier rivalry like in the past.

Yes, fantastic gesture from Liverpool FC to be warmly applauded. It made me think that even with the great rivalry, both sides can still come together when it matters because, whatever the football loyalties, we share the same roots.
Will that same shared sense of community still be there in 20 - 30 years time, I wonder, when we’ve moved out of the city?
Not really trying to make any sort of statement here as, to be honest, everything football related at the moment does not really matter that much. Just a shared thought.

z-cars at anfield im sure an eleven yr old boy is happy in heaven. Ive always thought being an evertonian i need to hate the kopites but at the end of the day were all scouse and we need to stick up for each other and stop gun crimes like this from happening. Football is a game to be loved and enjoyed and shouldn’t be about fighting and arguing with rivals. We are all living in the same city and need to get along, i love everton and i’d never support them but i have to say thank you to them for allowing a young boy to be happy looking down from heaven im sure it made him smile. R.I.P MATE YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. Like dixie dean and alan ball you will always be remembered for your talent with the fotball and you might be gone from the earth but your spirit is still in our hearts. goodnight, godbless xxxxxxx

I can’t really add anything that hasn’t already been said. But I feel that I have to post and show my support to this.
Well done Liverpool. RIP Little Blue.

Yeah I watched it and thought it was a great, really moving thing for them to do, and the attitude and behaviour coming from every section of the crowd was impeccable (as you’d expect).
I hope those responsible for the shooting acknowledge the public response to their actions and finally begin to realise how much more there is to life than their pathetic gang war ’games’, and stop to think about what it would be like to grow up in places of real hardship.
