Just seen we won the appeal.
Any comments Mr Marsh?
Maybe now we can give the board the benefit of the doubt and concentrate on the football.

Good news. Hopefully he will go straight into the team against Bolton to team up with AJ. I know McFadden scored on Saturday but which is tough, but hey ho.

I wonder if Yakubu will still be out of favour with Nigeria come the African Nations Cup. Is’nt their manager Bertie Vogts who also upset Davie Weir. I know he has annoyed Anichebe as well. With a bit of luck Anichebe will decide to play for England and Yakubu will tell Vogts to stick it too. It would be nice if Vaughany is fit too by then. We would have 5 decent forwards plus young Justiewicz in the wings.

Hi Guys.. personally, I’m delighted that Manny hasn’t signed for us... in my opinion, through the games that I saw last season, true, he has the creativity as well as a bit of grit in his play, but I reckon he’s lost the ball too much for us when he’s got it... try to do too much at times.. so I’m ok with him not signing.. but Yakubu .. now tts a dream buy for me IMHO... pacier then Anichebe, and has a much better scoring record then AJ and JB, and has the bull physique like a certain manure ass whom I understand broke his foot again.
So I reckon he will be a great buy for us... so let’s give him the number 9 ...
my only concern ...
"I chose to go to Middlesbrough because they were in Europe. At the moment they are not doing it. I think I made the right decision to come to this place. It is a massive club and it is a great feeling. There are great players and you want to play for a big club."
now let’s say he scores 20 odd goals but we don’t make it to Europe next year... (please dun flame me guys).. how ?...
Let’s pray..

I’m glad we’ve signed a recognised goalscorer and looking forward to us getting amongst the goals. To be honest I’m not that impressed with AJ’s goals return but maybe that’ll improve now its not all down to him up front. As for MacFadden I’d like to see Moyes give him a chance to prove himself at left mid/wing, but maybe that’ll be for home games rather than Bolton away.
Positive news at last!

Let’s cut the snide comments guys - no time for an argument. This is GREAT news. The first genuine goalscorer we’ve had since when? (? Tony Cottee?). I think Moyes will shape up his workrate, and his mate Joey Yobo will make sure he knows what’s expected.
Feed The Yak and he will score! (Now we just need another feeder...)

Why do people always ruin good news by trying to goad Tony Marsh, it’s almost as bad as when the RS wind us up.
Can’t we just be pleased we signed a player which I remember Tony Marsh saying would be a good signing. As if there isn’t enough of a divide between our fan base at the moment.
We might not all agree with him, all of the time, but with the Fernandes and stadium debacles still fresh in the mind I can see the thinking behind his frustrated opinions.

James - The Yak fell out with the old coach of Nigeria, not sure how he and Vogts get on, or whether he’s even arsed about playing for them again. Hopefully not eh.
Up the blues.

James Elsworthy?
As I understand it he has already told Vogts to stick it and is retired from international duty. Was’nt that one of the snags in the work permit dealings?

Tony Marks can you read or do you<>purposely act dumb for attention?Yesterday I said I would hold judgement on the Yakubu deal untill today.Today is here and I am made up.I rate Yakubu highly and reckon he will bag us the goals the team badly needs at present.Signing Yakubu is great news but it doesnt mean the anger and dissapointment of the Fernandez fiasco wasnt real.Get a grip will ye.
Steve Pugh
Now lets see if the goals dry up for Yakubu who is prolific in this league. If they do dry up like every other striker has done under Moyes including AJ now then we will know were the fault will lay wont we?

Great news regarding Yakubu, let’s hope he does the business for us. Now let’s turn out attetion to the midfield. A few names have been mentioned I I expect to see another signing before the transfer window shuts. Nakamura or Appiah are the best of all the names nemtioned yet. Fingers crossed lads.....COYB!

This will be great for AJ - i know a lot of people have been giving him a hard time but at least now he can return to running the channels and making life a nightmare for defenders - Rather than acting as the worlds smallest target man!!

Great news, I’ve been sat here at work all day waiting for this. As others have said Ayegbeni should now provide the necessary muscle up front to cause havoc to the oppo. Let him bulldoze and AJ clean up! COYB

I said to my mate that on Saturday we had the strongest bench I had seen for years. With the signing of Yakubu and the imminent signing of a midfielder, when Cahill and Vaughan are fit we are going to spoilt for choice on who even makes the bench. I am getting over excited or what

Having just watched his interview on the OS, I’m very excited about this fella. He seems like a pretty confident bloke and the idea of scoring 20+ a season doesnt seem to phase him one bit.....oooohh this could be the signing we’ve yearned for....
Mike Hunt
Posted 29/08/2007 at 16:09:32
Well said Seamus, though a better target man than AJ I feel the Yak is best with balls played in front and likes it in to feet too. Hopefully Route One will be played infrequently! Doubtless a new classy centre mid would help no end.

Great news. How many goals do you think he’ll score from air bombs?? All we need now is Appiah. The guys got a great range of passing.

Appiah.. its on the grapevine on both Everton and West Ham United blogs and forums that both clubs are looking to capture this guy before deadline day...West Ham are fav to land him though as he?s already expressed a desire to move to West Ham. West Ham have been tracking this guy for sometime, while Arsenal cooled there inetrest after signing Rosicky and Barcelona when signing Deco. Fenerbahce have tried to stop any approach for the player in this transfer window and are reluctance to sell him, but he’s come out again in the last couple of days saying "He wants to leave as he wants his children to learn English". A creative player going forward and scores a good ratio of goals (one being voted the Best Goal of the UEFA Champions League 2005) but the 2006 Turkish Footballer of the Year and former Ghana Footballer of the Year as well as being Captain of Ghana’s National team would come at around 6 million.

Bring back Nyarko!! If Appiah’s already stated he wants to join West Ham, then what’s the point??

I don’t actually believe that Yakubu has signed and it is all another Bill Kenwright scam to get us to leave our Anfield home for a new stadium up the road that will be called Goodison.

Allan. Free tonight mate, so what’s the score with your Nan???
I’d like to jump in before that scammer Dave Lynch turns up.
By the way, I’ve got a nice line in tomatoe juice, and fake dog paw prints being organised by our MArketing dept, so they should be ready for July.

excellent signing, and once moyes gets to work on his fitness i’ll think we may have of the most prolific strikers in the premier league.
well done everton.
