Money, Money, Money?!?

Personally, I'm over the moon with the signing of Yakubu, always liked him and believe he'll be worth every penny of the £11M+... But, I'm now left wondering how much (if any) money Davie has left in the transfer kitty? If we were going to spend £12M on Fernandes and had initially outlaid £8M for Yakubu, does that mean that there's still £9M-ish left to play with?

We really could do with that central midfielder with a bit of class but I'm not exactly over the moon with our options on the wings (particularly the left). Realistically, Appiah would be a good signing, but I firmly believe Gravesen would raise his game for us again (although not making the line-up at Celtic causes some doubts). But, I've read in the paper and around the web that Baptista is being offered around by Real Madrid for £8M ? maybe even a possible loan there? And as much as I hate to say it, Kewell could do a job for us down the left ? can't be any worse than van der Meyde! What happened to Vogel as well?

Anyways, if we can avoid any serious injuries, I'm relatively happy the way things stand and am actually looking forward to Europe this time around as well as a strong domestic campaign. Guess all will be made apparent in the next 36hrs or so. Fingers crossed that Moyes has a trick or two left up his rolled up sleeve...

No, seriously, I said Kewell...

Anyone remember watching the Leeds team playing Barcelona in Europe in 2000/01?...

He needs another chance and a manager & team-mates that’d give him a kick up the backside...

Only fair after Barmby, Xavier etc... What’s the big deal, he’s not a red at heart and after how he was booed off their Champs League Final, probably hates the fans more than most of us!...

When was the last time van der Meyde did anything - and he’s not even been injured!...

Kewell gets booed Scott by Liverpool fans because he is a parasite who only wnats to put in a shift when its a big game.He is a bigger waste of space than Shandy Andy.At least Shandy gets out and has a pint.Kewell gets injured when he farts .Please put it to bed.

Tony, relax, this is surely a piss-take.

Scott, have you taken leave of your senses? Kewell’s shit, and has been for years - I grant you he had a few good years with Leeds but then so did Tony Yeboah.

I think you need some fressh air mate! : )

Worse than van der Meyde?!...

At least Kewell wants to play when he’s fit... Reckon he has so much untapped potential that has a few more years to come out that won’t be realised until he’s moved...

But as for Australia’s best - that brings another question - why haven’t we thought about Bresciano?!... He’s bloody brilliant...

Scott, I admire your positivity and faith in Moyes’s ability to get the best out of his players, but he is not Jesus Christ, and cannot perform Miracles. I’d pick Leon over Kewell anyday, he may be inconsistent, but his attitude is spot on. I would rather have triers, I always liked Kilbane, lets have him back, he may have been shit, but atleast he gave 100%. You thought Kewell was controversial, come on Tony, where do you stand on bringing Killer back?

Scott, Kewell would render the signing of Pienarr useless. Also, Vogel is DM. We already have Carsley Neville and Jagielka to do that job. Why we were going for Vogel anyway beats me. Andy Van will probably be given 1 last chance seeing that the club didn´t announce anything other than a fine after his latest escapade.Gravesen will be hungry and with a point to prove so may not be a bad option. I seem to remember most Evertonians were gutted when he left

I would take Tommy G back no problem as long as the wages were not silly.I reckon he could still do a job for us. With Europe looming we need all the players we can get.Dont hold his Celtic career against him as many players struggle in that SPL.Arteta was useless up there but look at him now.No judge Tommy G on his Madrid form were he did well and his last season with us.

Good little bit of business, can’t really say no to Grav on a season long loan. Now let’s hope Moyes has got another big’un lined up!

The "final trick" up Moyes’ sleeve is the resigning of the Mad Dog on loan. No real details released yet.

Grav is a nut, there’s no getting away from that, but even at this stage of his career he can still play a bit. I watched him a few times at Celtic last season and theres no doubting his ability, but theres also no doubting his lack of consistency etc, but hey its a loan deal!

At least now we have a few more options, so if he is acting the tit he can be hauled off and replaced with someone just as good.

Didn’t someone put a put up earlier concerning how Moyes had 2 more signings lined up after Yakubu?...

So we’ve got Tommy G back - and truthfully, he’s one of my favourite players in recent years to have played for us....

So, I’m not in the know or anything, but I wouldn’t be completely surprised to see another addition sometime in the next 24hrs... Bring on Appiah - or Kewell!...
