I just want to say first of all I adore this site, virtually all my Blue news stems from here and for that I congratulate you. However, I must say the description given of our Tommy in the rumour mill was little short of disgraceful. Referring to him as a 'desperate' aquisition is very disappointing. Thomas Gravesen was one of our finest performers, his departure had a far more substantial impact than that of Shrek to manchester. Show some repsect in future.

Sorry, Neil, but at the time it was posted the rumour was based on Everton buying not loaning Gravesen and in that context the acquisition of a 31-year-old who can't get into the Celtic team would have been a pretty desperate move in my eyes.

A loan is more palatable but if he is the sum total of our midfield additions this week, I think most fans have a right to feel pretty pissed off. Let's not forget that Gravesen was "one of our finest performers" for about 6 months of a five-year Everton career and he's now two and a half years older walking into a much-improved squad. He's a body to add to a thin squad, he is not the answer to anyone's prayers.

If Tommy graveson is the clubs answer to missing out on targets suchas Gonzales,Riquelme(if true) and the likes of fernandes then it is nothing short of a fucking disgrace.
Its like booking a holiday to florida only to settle for pontins on the ainsdale roundabout.
If we get in a Top class midfielder then yes Tommy will be a good squad signing but if hes the sole midfield signing then we are a real Mickey Mouse Brigade

It’s not so much that Gravesen was a great player, it’s more the fact that the team, as a unit, was most successful when we played a 4-1-4-1 formation, eventually finishing 4th. It suited the players we had at the time...Gravesen, Cahill, Carsley, Osman, Stubbs, Yobo, Hibbert, and a lone striker with pace.

Blimey, now you think about it, aren’t they the same players we’ve got now...?

Maybe Moyes has brought Gravesen back so that he can use the 4-1-4-1 formation that ultimately resulted in us finishing above Liverpool.

God, if anything we needed a right-back to challenge Hibbert. He’s been shocking lately.
