Riquelme, SSN, Medical?!
Comments (16)
I've just been watching SNN, and they were talking about transfers, they said that they have cameras up and round the country, they then went on to say, "We expect most news/info to come from Everton today."
They then said that there was a medical going on right now, I didn't hear if it was Riquelme, but I'm only watching SSN, cos I was told to by someone, cos they heard that they were talking about Everton & Riquelme. So, yeah ? just thought I'd share (:

er think you have your wires crossed. they mentioned riquelme and appiah AGESSSSS ago, but now hardly mention it at all...which basically means they dont think anything is going to happen. Earlier they also said Everton were the team to watch today but have since changed their stance and are now saying West Ham are the team most likely to do some major business.
Riquelme thing is all a load of bollocks which started from the Daily Mail website. The fact that every single report on the net is based on that daily mail article = proof nothings gonna happen.
the medical your talking about obviously isnt riquelmes...i mean cmon, hundreds of players moving from team to team and you assume them talking about one random medical = them talking about a riquelme medical ???
they were talking about danny murphy btw

Riquelme has been on loan at Boca Juniors since February but Boca have stated that they cannot afford his wages when offered the player permanently by Villarreal (for ?4m + 2 players); so he is available for transfer. His fall-out with the Villarreal management team is well documented and as a 29-year-old Argentinian international he has the required ability.
But unless David Moyes has a suddenly expanded budget Riquelme does seem to be very similar to Arteta, and comes on the back of the signings of Yakubu and Gravesen. It would be good to see a player of Riquelme’s quality but is his temperament and work-ethic suitable to Everton and does he offer Everton anything new?
David Moyes likes to take time to get the correct player; except in the case of Gravesen who is very much a known quantity. A rush move for Riquelme (surely Everton weren’t in the market for both him and Fernandes a week ago) would not fit with the way Moyes does business. In the wake of Manuel Fernandes decision a lot of names have been mentioned but I think the Gravesen signing could well be Everton’s last of the month.

Instead of all worrying about transfers - I saw an ace band from LIVERPOOL last night - Ladytron. They were supporting Nine Inch Nails (who are always fab). So worry ye not about midfield additions, download some Ladytron and check Toffeweb at 11:59.

If Everton do sign anybody today I bet it will be somebody we have heard of but weren’t expecting to sign or somebody we just haven’t heard of. Riquelme and Appiah just seems to hard to believe. A more likely signing is somebody like Dan Gosling from Plymouth.

Richard: "If Everton do sign anybody today I bet it will be somebody we have heard of" ... "somebody like Dan Gosling from Plymouth" surely this does not follow?

I’ve heard of Dan Gosling.
Now if you’d said someone like Rodger Clayton that would make more sense.

Arteta, Pienaar, and Osman can all play wide, not to mention Andy VDM if he can get his shit together Muhammad.
I’ve never heard of Dan Gosling; is his Mum called Mother Goose?

A friend just text me and said it’s been on Sky Sports news 405 saying Riquelme is on his way to Goodison this minute, another mate who works at John Lennon said he was being mobbed at the airport.
Don’t know what to believe.

I have it on good authority That Everton have been negotiating with a lot of clubs today, and have ended up swapping sqaud with Barcelona
