Two people have just texted me to say Everton are having a press conference at 4.30pm. Has anybody else heard this? There are so many rumours today about Riquelme or Appiah its getting exciting.

The press conference rumours probably come from the People's Forum where they engage in the bi-annual sport of posting fake rumours in an effort to get the Bluekipper forum foaming at its collective mouth. At this late stage I would be very surprised if Moyes pulled either of these players ? or anyone else for that matter ? out of the hat.

FFS APPIAH IS NOT SIGNING. THERE ARE PICTURES ON THE GAWD DAMN FERNEBACHE SITE OF HIM TRAINING WITH THEM TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Riquelme obviously was never gonna sign, its ridiculos that anyone ever thought it was even remotely possible !

I’d be surprised if Appiah was signing, unless he flew KeithAir he’s probably still in Fenerbache.

It’s 7pm, how was the press conference that no-one from the press attended or reported on?

Is it in fact 4.30am? I’ll stay up and wait for the good news of a tired looking Riquelme stood next to a knackered Moyes.

Appiah, being ghanian, would need a work permit, therefore I deduce that its impossible that he could sign and be granted a permit in the same day....(it takes a few days for the hearing), so knock him on the head fella’s ;)

I’m gonna have to stay up now and see if there’s breaking news on Sky Sports News at 4:30am for the Everton press conference.

Riquelme needs a work permit also. He at least would be available in January unlike Appiah.

The press conference is being held to reveal Peter Sidney Beagrie as Evertons creative left sided midfielder. The midfielder at the tender age of 41 will sign on a Bosman free transfer from Sky Sports News.

For people worrying about work permits, they have been rushed through in the past on transfer day.

I also think there is a chance the player can be registered with the work permit pending.

SSN are outside Goodison as I type, they’re talking up the Riquelme link more & more....they’re saying we’ve got a couple of deals on the table....chubby is on again, grinning around his gravy stained face....

Ok, I know something is going on, reasons.....

The club would not allow the fans to get their hopes up, whilst DM, KW and BK sit at home with their feet up watching SSN.

If there was nothing happening then they would have nothing to lose by putting in a call to SSN and saying fellas this Riquelme story is a load of shite so send that reporter home.

However what I do think is that there is something happening, which might fail, due to lack of time etc.

If we do sign someone then I expect it to be no-one that has been mentioned yet.

Oh well, the "Maybe one more" link on the official organ has disappeared in favour of a Leighton Baines "It's like Tommy's been here for ages" link. I guess that's our window over. Pravda strikes again!

Stuart,
o
I’m not personally worried about work-permits. I dont need one, im english. They can have me anytime...

As for rushing though, maybe you could tell the FA andd EFC how they could have rushed Yakubu’s through quicker? As clearly the week that it took was too slow by your rules. Ta.

Any news yet lads - the wifes watching Midsomer, and I can?t get to SS News.

By the way Steve C, the last posts from the Yakubu songs thread seem to be disappearing systematically. Has my PC discovered a way of reversing time ??? Perhaps it?s to give us enough time to sign Riquelme OR, if I can wind it back far enough, would we all want me to force the Manny sale through ????

Riquelme is almost certainly not happening, apparently it was never on in the first place.

Supposedly we were trying to sign 2 other midfielders though, 1 has flopped completely, the other is on its way to flopping.

Yay : /
