Ok, I am a fool

Comments (24)

I have finally admitted what some have said for years. I have accepted how rediculous it is to be sat at my PC all night hitting the refresh keys, just hoping to see that we have signed someone of Riquelme's class but with just 40 mins remaining I have thrown in the towel. Having been up since 5am I am now too knackered to stay up for a fruitless further 40 mins for something that, if I am honest, I know will not happen.

I must say I too was particularly drawn into it this morning after hearing Wyness’ comments on SSN.

I am however, delighted with Yak and Tommy G, and don’t forget Moyes still has money to spend so we may have to do it all over again on Jan 31st.

COYB!

But what a marvellous rewarding ’window’ it’s been. All our dreams fulfilled with an absolutely top goalscorer, playmaker Tommy back in the fold and a shole of support players.Thank you Bill,Davey and Keith for giving us everything we asked for.

Don?t know why you were all expecting to sign a player yesterday. It usually takes a minimum of two weeks ( with the exception of Tommy G) for Everton to do a deal. We have more red tape than the local Job Centre. Roll on 31st January 2008 for another night in front of our PC?s!

I too have spent most of today glued to SSN. Still overall we’ve made great additions to the squad, and retained key players like Arteta and Cahill. I feel we’re only short of a fast and creative winger. However, this is on paper the best team I’ve seen since the 80’s. Up the blues!

I have it on good authority that Riquelme is a dead cert for Jan. Honest...

Best team since 80’s;

Sander Westerveld
Earl Barrett
Tony Thomas
Carl Tiler
Slaven Bilic
Claus Thompsen
Mike Milligan
Peter Degn
Norman Whiteside
Michael Madar
Brett Angel
Stefan Rehn

Eat your heart out Yakubu, Arteta and co ! You have a long way to go to match this lot...

Matt, how did Marc Hottiger not make your team. Signed in Jan 96 for £700k and sold in July 97 for just £25k. Now there’s a player.
Matt Willey

Hottiger was considered, along with Preki and Danny Williamson ... in the end I opted for the team above because I just felt it had the right balance. I would def use Marc as a sub though...

Matt Mckay and Espen Baaaaaardsen would make up the bench...

Have it on good authority that we have confused Riquelme with Rodrigo.. due to them both being South American... have they resigned Rodrigo and not told anyone ?

997725 is Riquelme’s squad number
John Peters

Yes we got him. SSN have just flashed up that we signed Riquelme on loan till the end of season. Also on Everton Website now. Hooray!!! Good season this will be.

John Peters you are a plonker! You must be a redshite. Why do we have to put up with bellends like this coming onto our site?

I hear Riquelme is booked into the Marriott until January 31st

Yes Rob, I heard that too, from the mate of that lad who "never told porkies" etc. I believe he is sharing the room with Alan Smith and both of them are going to sign in January. It must be true because that lad’s mate never tells porkies!

Having been throught the click/refresh malarkey last time round I decided go for a couple of beers then come home and go to sleep, forgetting all about it. Best thing I could have done to be honest apart from the bollocking from the missus when I got home

"Thank you Bill,Davey and Keith for giving us everything we asked for."

WTF !!!!!!!

we asked for a world class midfielder and we got bloody gravesen !!!!!!!!!!!!

i honestly cant believe how people are pleased with the signings we have made. Baines is the only one who will go on to be a success. Yakubu could have been a success but with the kind of service we give him with our shabby midfield he will be lucky to score 10 goals in a season. jagielka is pure utility player...nothing more. pienaar wont ever get a proper chance to play. and weazle and gravesen are nothing signings.

i cant wait to watch yet another season of hoofball !!!!!!

Well, i did not think we would sign anyone if i was being honest.

Riquelme was never coming ( i did try to post this around 10pm last night but the site would not let me post anything?) He fell out with Vill boss, went on loan to Boca and liked it there, he told them to sign him on a four year contract and he would play for free in his final year, but Boca could not get the money together. Then Vill and Ath Madrid agreed a fee for him, but the Ath Madrid caoch decided against it. Moyes did speak to his agent but he said he DID NOT want to play for us and was digging his heels in.

I gort this from a reporter in spain who was talking on Talk Sport, he said he knew all abouth the whole link with EFC.

Appiah was always a no go to be fair, he was injurred and West Ham backed off for some reason.

On the one hand, i think we a desp short of a creative player in midfield who can create at leats half a dozen more chances in a match than we do and take the pressure of Mikey, but i would rather us have not bought anyone for the sake of it and pissed some of our money away. Come January, just maybe we will be greatfull we did not, but i am still a little pissed off.

James Hunt - "our shabby midfield"

Yes Arteta and Cahill are both shabby wasters.

is your name rhyming slang?

James Hunt
24   Posted 01/09/2007 at 12:11:50

Cahill isnt the kind of player who creates chances...he puts them away.

relying on arteta for everything creative is ridiculous and it already looks like teams have found away to shut him out of matches.

so yes apart from Arteta and Cahill our midfield is shabby as fuck, and seeing as Cahill is injured and Arteta will probably be injured at somepoint we will have to rely on piss poor backup.

our midfield is shabby as fuck...FACT
