Have I been banned from Toffeeweb? I've emailed you guys twice asking ther question but haven't recieved a response so I'm sending you this instead.

If I have been banned for some reason, can you please tell me the reason? None of my posts make it onto the board now and I get a warning about my posts being held in a queue to be reviewed?

You will be banned if you don't stop arsing about. Both Lyndon and I have sent you e.mails today that have not bounced back, so you obviously aren't accessing your Gmail account properly. Get it sorted, please!

Allan,
I had something similar on Friday when some posts that appeared by me and Steve C actually started disappearing.

Posts to the thread were then complete - it stated no more posts to that thread, and I was also put in a queue for any further threads.

I know we have had an onrunning joke with your Nan thread and The Keith entries, but I would hope that if the editors thought we were over the top, an E mail to us would suffice.

I don’t know what you were posting, obviously, but if it was along your usual tongue in cheek lines, I think it’s poor in the extreme, and this site would be a much duller place.

If we three are upsetting the Toffeeweb regulars, I would appreciate Micheal or Lyndon letting us know please.

many thanks,

Keith Harrison

Lyndon took objection to one thread on Friday that descended into one-line "banter" unrelated to any football topic. It’s the sort of thing we’d rather you posted on your favourite forum; hope you understand. Lyndon cleaned out a shedload of posts and closed the thread.

We’re looking at a membership approach that will ensure we have a valid e.mail address from anyone posting (that seems to be Allan’s problem). We don’t necessarily want the place to be "dull" ? far from it. We’re encourgaing lively and entertaining discussion about current Everton issues across the board... but please stay on topic.

Many thanks for your reply , Micheal. I would have suggested a membership anyway.

Would there be a place on here for ’off the wall’ threads - loosely based on Everton. There did seem to be a lot of posts on the items where myself, Allan and Steve Claringbold among others started meandering.

Off to bed now anyway mate.

Keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work ToffeeWeb boys, thanks for your time and effort, I can understand people's frustration, but you supply a real too the minute interaction with the fan base. This is one of the best sites I have been on, don?t go posh like Sky Sports, I visist ToffeeWeb before the official EFC site!!
Boys... you're legends

Apologies from myself as well.

I think it’s all something to do with the stadium debate etc. There’s been so much doom and gloom on the site lately that when we all got a bit light-hearted we got a bit carried away with ourselves.

Sorry!!!!

Ed, since you’ve opened the mailbox to comments there seems to have been a general degradation of the standard of debate.

I come on here to read opinion about Everton and all things connected with the club.

I’m sick of reading trite tit-for-tat name calling, accusations of being a ’red’ and a general trend towards dissing the person and not the argument if the person happens to hold a different opinion from oneself.

Another thing that gets right on my nads is the tendency by some to use the site as a pseudo chat room.

To those people I say, there is a forum for that sort of thing, parade your banal witticisms on there please and avoid subjecting the rest of us to your unique insight into the world of ’humour’.

Thanks very much

I’d really like to see a clampdown on those who post under pseudonyms. If people have opinions they shouldn’t feel afraid of them. I know the problem tends to more acute on comment threads, but there are frequent posters who do this, like a certain person who prefers to hide behind an alias adopted from his favourite Schwarzenegger character

Totally agree.
I get led astray easily by that Steve and Kieth fella.Joking apart though lads, i have reported abusive comments myself.
The ones which say things like.
We don’t want you on this site. Go and support the reds etc.
No place for them.

There was nothing wrong with my gmail account, not sure why you were getting bouncebacks; I eventually recieved your emails by the way Micheal/Lyndon and have replied again.

I have always used a valid email address when posting on here so if there were technical issues, it wasn’t my end I assure you as I was recieving email from other people all weekend to my gmail acct.

Anyway, point taken, it was just a bit of a laugh on Friday night and we all got a bit carried away. This forum has been a hotbed of arguing and unpleasantness recently so it was light relief shall we say.

Back to normal now; although I did notice Tony Marsh being positive the other day so maybe not quite back to normal!

Thanks for those kind words Roy. It’s all about opinions, and one man’s meat is another man’s poison.

Kevin’s opinion differs from yours, that’s all, and both of you have a fair say.

Cheers.

A couple of things, Roy. Firstly, thanks for using your full name. It really helps when it comes to spotting and removing the dross.

And sorry but this service is not here for banter. What Kevin Sparke says above in this thread is right on the money. If you want banter, go find a sutable Everton forum ? there are plenty around.

And please, if you are going to post on here, try writing in English. We don?t do text-speak, alrite? Thanks for your consideration!

Very funny Kevin - I have just noticed a posting from one Kevin Sparke on a Tommy G thread which states:

Anyone who doesn’t agree with me walks like a ladyboy and wears womens knickers.

Dissing other people, or banal witticism ????
