Alan bloody Hansen

Just read the 'Alan Hansen column' on BBC Sport and he gave me yet another reminder of why I hate the red shite.

He states that the only team who can trouble the big-4 is Spurs and as they have started so badly, they are effectively out of the running.

I know it's early days, but I don't think he looked at the table recently. Or checked the facts that we were only about 8 points behind the Arse last season. When was the last time Spurs finished in the top 4?

Typical fucking Hansen, once again talking up the dark side as title challengers... heard it all before, time and time again over the last 10 years. Hansen and Lawrenson, bigging up the red's chances of the league. They even did it when Roy Evans was in charge! And then no acknowledgement of Everton's presence on the edge of the big-4, where we have been for 2 of the last 3 seasons.

I'm not saying that we're gonna challenge for the title. I think the Reading game gave anyone getting carried away a serious reality-check. But christ, he talks about Aston Villa's potential to break into the big-4 and not even a mention of the mighty Blues. The gobshite.

Glad I got that off my chest, I can relax for my trip home now.

The thing about Hansen, and other ex-pros turned pundits is that they have little original to say, and when they do have one, it is blindingly obvious to any working adult with half-a-brain.

Don’t understand why you need HIS validation to promote Everton’s achievements. In my opinion, the lesser coverage we get, the better. It keeps us on our toes and build up more spirit to prove "critics" wrong, precisely what Blackburn are doing right now. Their current tag as playing violent and being thugs is criminally wrong but that doesn’t stop them from pulling off result after result so far. I believe it is them, and NOT Spurs, who will most spring a surprise in the Top 6.

Richard; wasn’t it Hansen who famously said you don’t win anything with kids. Not the only time he’s been caught with his pants down.

And did you see MOTD2 the other night? I almost pissed myself laughing it was just so bloody typically BBC.

Adrian Chiles taking a final look at the top of the table: "We’ve got four teams tied on ten points at the top. Liverpool are at the top going strong. Arsenal are up their too with Chelsea and Manchester City dropping down after todays results."

Unbelievable! Are we invisible or something? Manchester City haven’t even got ten points - but they do have a controversial manger and chairman so we’ll give them a mention ahead of that other team from Liverpool - what’s their name again?

Hansen even said on Saturday’s MOTD that Spurs are the only team with a realistsic chance of challenging the ’big 4’...but Alan seemed to forget about Everton finishing 4th in 2005. Shome mishtake shurely.
