Hi All,
Moyes has an approval rating of 89% according to Soccernet.
But with only 40 odd votes, its clear that the majority of us haven't voted. Get into it !!!

Not many complain when we win. But let a game like the Spurs H. last season upset the apple cart and see his approval rating sink lower than Bushes. We EXPECT to do well (rightly or wrongly) and 9 times out of 10 everybody loves a winner. We can live with ’winning ugly’... sometimes. The only thing worse than playing badly and winning is playing badly and not.
But, as we are often told, it’s about results. Trouble is, I’m old enough and probably daft enough as well, expect in these post Walter times, more often than not, a side order of Football with my Sky Bread and Butter....SUPER SIZE ME!!

Nigel, what is the purpose of your post?
Are you unhappy because Moyes has a high approval rating? If so, what kind of Evertonian are you?

Steven ... WTF? Where did you get that from? It seems to me that Mr Gregson was encouragng people to vote as only 40 already have. | didn’t get any negativity towards Moyes from that post at all. Maybe you were magically reading between the proverbial lines?

That’s the problem with Moyes apologists Mark,as soon as they see the name David Moyes in a letter, they automatically think it is someone having a dig at him.I read it as you read it.

"Moyes apologists" is an oxymoron.
What exactly do you think there is to apologise for? Riding high in the table? The best squad and team since the mid-80s?

Joe C,playing some of the shittest football in the prem.

I see Spurs played some nice stuff at the weekend
(PS as for the "shittest" comment, it’s also a bollocks comment. People see what they want to see when they have an agenda. You clearly do, and nothing I or anyone else says will ever change your perception, so I won’t comment around this again)

Nigel, apologies if I read you comments incorrectly.
In light of some of the commentators on here who are always having a go at Moyes I misread your post as meaning that because people from here hadn’t voted that his approval rating was artificially high.
Apologies once again pal.
Brian, I make no apologies for being a Moyes fan. I’ll accept that the football on show isn’t always of the highest order but show me a team outside of the so called big four and Spurs who play flowing football.
After five years of being drip fed funds Moyes is only now putting out a team which he can truly call his own. You can see that now we are solid defensively and he has installed a work ethic into the team that he is trying to improve the attacking options of the side by recruiting another pacey forward and creative midfielders.
I know the guy is not perfect but at least cannot you not accept that he is moving us in the right direction?

We’re not playing the prettiest granted but we have to get to place were we are consistently getting results no matter what.
I have followed the blues for 35 years and can only remember one other time when I felt more confident than I do now
I may be looking at this through Moyes tinted glasses but he has transformed our fortunes from only a couple of years ago and unlike virtually everyother manager in the league he hasnt been given a bottomless pit of cash.
Let’s admit it boys we all remember the 3-0 home defeat to tranmere and the annual arse twitching when it came to the end of the season. Now we seriously debate the needs for the team to qualify for the Champions League. If that’s not transformation then what is. C’mon you brazilian looking toffees!!!!! (oh dear I think my arse just twitched again.....)

how people can still bang on that we dont play attractive football baffles me.. i know we dont play great football ALL the time, as most clubs will say. even the fans of chelsea and man utd and arsenal complain about the way their teams play, lets face it, things will NEVER be perfect. but how people can HONESTLY say we dont at times play some of the best stuff for years is really a question i can not answer. it is right people only see what they want to see, will pick the negatives out of any situation, but maybe thats what they think being a fan means? having the ability to moan and pick arguments does not make you a ’proper’ fan who knows their football, it makes you people who will always find the negatives in any game of football you see our team play, whilst failing to acknowledge the positive aspects of our developing team and their football not to mention the outstanding team ethic moyes has created. On saturday at bolton I saw some extremely satisfying attacking football by the team in blue which contributed to a very entertaining game of football which had agression, flowing attacking football, tense drama along with well made and well executed goals. i appreciate as a fan of our fantastic club you have every right to point out what you believe, but please can people put some balance on these negative views, because lets face it we have a hell of a lot to feel positive about at the moment (in my opinion of course)

Joe C,no agenda from me mate.In another post I praise Moyes and the lads for the game against Bolton,Even though(apart from the last 20 mins) we never played that great.I was just pointing out for most of last season some of the football we played was dire, and apart from the Spurs game, most of the football in the other games was woeful at times. We can really play some good stuff at times, but I just think we have to be more consistent.I am warming to Davey(after being a big critic of his last season)and would love him to be the one to take us places, because I genuinely feel he loves the club.

Brian W, so then you’ll agree "shittest football in the prem" was pretty way over the top and pretty inflammatory then?
Most supporters invest so much heart and emotion in their team that they can become hypercritical in their desire to see their team be perfect. I’ve never thought our football has been that bad (though under Walter Smith I thought it was. Also, it IS possible to put together a pretty team quickly, but I don’t think this is truly sustainable. Consistently successful teams learn to "win ugly" before they can add that extra finesse and "win pretty". Howard Kendall’s successful team was built from the back in this way, and I see some similarities with Moyes. However, the ability to "win ugly, but at all costs win" is the sign of any consistently good and successful team and I think we are starting to get there.
I actually think that sometime in the near future we will really give some team a real hammering, and I think this will also be a key progress indicator for Moyes.
By the way, Chris Hutchings was just top of the Manager ratings with 100% approval....but only 2 votes!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Does anyone else get the impression this ratings thing is a bit flawed somehow....?!

Joe,probalby was a little over the top. But,we will have to agree to disagree, over the type of football we churn out.Hopefully,Moyes will make me eat my words this season, and if he does,I will be over the moon.
