The Mail Bag

Tommy boy

Did anyone see Moyesy's comment in the Times re Gravesen?

?Tommy is probably madder than he was when he left [in 2005], which might be hard to believe,? Moyes said. ?He gave us a calmness when he came on.?

Madder than before? And then when he came on ? no doubt in a mad state of mind ? he calmed us down! The next few months are going to be interesting....

Does David Moyes know George Bush?

I’ve just dug out a response I gave to Ed Bottomley’s article ’Searching for our Sonofabitch’ written June 14th.

It happens very rarely so allow me to be a little smug at my prediction!! ;-)

For what it?s worth Gravesen could be a joy to watch when he was on form. The way that he could pick a pass was fantastic and yet at times admittedly he would go missing.

At a reasonable price however I?d love to see him back at the club as I believe AJ for one would really benefit from his decisive through balls.

He?s not necessarily the player that will cement our midfield and take us to the next level but he?d make a great squad player with European experience. He may also flourish alongside a bona fide combative midfield enforcer.
