Tony's around... He commented only yesterday. But we're trying to muzzle him because anything he says offends the sensitive and delicate personalities who frequent these pages, and like to live in a nice blue dreamworld...
As for Vogel, he hhas not been one of our regular contributors. ☺ And since the transfer window has now closed (you knew that, didn't you?) I think it unlikely that he will be saying much for Everton on the field of play... at least not before January (or is he a free agent?)

I personally found his articles hilarious particularly his recent ones on the stadium issue, and the way he just simply can’t grasp that out there in the big wide world there are blues (a majority of them) every bit as passionate about our club as he is, who just happen to have a different stance to him on the stadium issue - he’s been comedy gold.

Gerard what’s even more comedy platinum is to assume that to have been eligible for a vote puts you in the majority of Evertonians, I think you will find the majority of Evertonians didn’t get or have a vote, to paraphrase you "get it yet?"

Morning Gavin,I’ve heard numerous bleatings about Evertonians not being allowed a vote and I suppose if I went to every game and was denied the opportunity to cast a vote in the most important issue to face this club for many years,I too, would be pissed off.I do go to every game, by the way, having a season ticket in Gwladys St.where I’ve been a regular for nearly fifty years.I think my credentials are sound with regard to commenting on this bone of contention. What I would like you or the prolific Mr Marsh to tell me is how you would have organised such a vote which would automatically exclude the RS from having a say in this matter along with local businesses, residents in Kirkby or anyone else remotely affected by a ground move. Lets be honest, if one only had to request a voting form we would have had thousands of RS fans voting "yes" just to get us out of the city. I have heard people saying that they received two forms while others claimed not to receive any but, that aside, how would you have gone about things? I’m against the move, actually, but am interested in hearing other peoples ideas as to how the vote should have been carried out which would have precluded the above.Do you know of any other club that’s given their fans such an opportunity?

Ray some very good points and for starters if the club can use stub sheets for cup tickets schemes then right there is an existing system the club already use and another is a simple button mechanism on the turnstyles with a simple yes or no setup on a particular match day or series of match days. Neither of which would be beyonds the capabilities of existing technology or existing schemes, the turnstyle mechanism is also flawed but those voters would also have paid to gain entry to the ground, even if that voting mechanism was an amalgamation across a number of matches with previous voters being excluded from voting more than once with some form of code entry.
I am angry about the result but also think the way it was conducted was seriously flawed.

Ray, I suppose you can have plenty of answers to your question at the KEIOC meeting this afternoon, even from Mr. Marsh himself.
Michael, you said before that you don’t like fans having a go at each other, now why do I feel this thread will be closed pretty soon?
We seem to be arguing* more about Tony than Moyes, Kenwright and the team put together.

could they not of handed them out a the turnstyle at the first home game ? they did this last time I think and I am sure we would of had far more than 25,000 voting

The lad (Tony Marsh) obviously cares a great deal about the club and he can on occasion bring up some good points. Its just a shame that the points I agree with him on are often accompanied by rants and attacks on fellow fans or the manager and squad. I then think to myself, why tarnish your good argument with silly rants? If he said what he says without the jibes I would be a happy Tony Marsh reader for sure.

Paul, do you think there wouldn’t be scores of fans protesting against your method? Starting from "I couldn’t go to the game but I’ve been a season ticket holder for 40 years" through the most ridiculous of rants to the fair shout of fans with disabilities who have to take turns to go to the match as there are not enough places for all of them.

Ray, The best answer you can expect is a lot of waffle plus anti BK venom, personal abuse and a dollop of childish foul language.
What you will not get is a an alternative fairer method of voting.

They could have had a show of hands 5 minutes before kick-off, like we used to do in my old TGWU days... except the ’no’ voters would mostly still be in the alehouses on County Rd.
Or had an X factor style phone vote televised by Everton TV giving slots to the two respective camps to make their argument... Picture the scene, Tony Marsh doing his Simon Cowell impression dissing a selection of ’Yes’ men in front of an audience of millions...
Seriously, those who had a chance to vote were restricted to a minority of all those who call themselves Evertonians... from people who have never visited Goodison Park in their lives to those who’ve attended 40+ years but don’t have a season ticket. It’s like having a general election and only letting people who own property worth over £250,000 vote... democracy in a sense but a guaranteed win for the Tories every election.
Bill Kenwright granted a vote to a minority of those who call themselves Everton supporters and for that he should be congratualated; but the cynic in me holds by the adage ’if voting led to democracy - they outlaw it’.
I calculated that I’ve spent over £45,000 supporting Everton since 1973 (The year I paid for my own tickets) and I was a season ticket holder for over 15 years... yet I didn’t get a vote, but somebody who bought their first season ticket last year got to decide the future of a club I’ve invested in since I could mouth the word Everton.
It aint fair I tells you.
I’ll be supporting Everton for the rest of my natural, whether they are playing in a Kirkby, Liverpool 1 or the bleedin Gabba for that matter. I will go to Kirkby for my once or twice a season pilgrimage.
I still think the club have messed up big time with their short termist thinking re moving out of the centre of econimic and cultural activity to a backwater.
I’d love it if they proved me wrong though

Gavin, the use of a button at the turnstyle, or a voting system in the ground once you?ve passed through the turnstyle would have been one option, in conjunction with the clubs system, but you can bet your life that the subsequent delays....and there would have been delays, trust me....would have had the phone in?s clogged with people moaning about "incompetence", missed the kick off ?cause I stayed too long in the Winslow etc.. I suppose a simple yes or no form in the ground would have satisfied most people but there would still be a queue of people waiting to get on here to slag the club off,as Peter Singer says, "I couldn?t go to the game but I?ve been a season ticket holder for 40 years" or "why hold a vote when people are still on holiday". The club were damned if the did, damned if they didn?t.

Ray - the only way to ensure that only blues vote is for us to sign in the deep royal blue blood that flows in our veins. Being in exile I couldn’t vote but I hate to think of the RS using our ground as a carpark.

Tony?s down the Casa today embracing Yes voters. He comes on and gets slagged off, but you all miss him if an hour goes by without him posting.... how quaint!!

In Marsh?s mind all Evertonians must live in the city boundaries and the stadium must be within walking distance of his house. Anyone from any outlying town, district or other part of Merseyside should support Tranmere Rovers, Wrexham, Chester, Runcorn or rugby league.

I’ve had enough of this.
Marsh drives me to distraction- I struggle to agree with anything he says. BUT, he has an opinion , and I want to hear it.
If you voted ’yes’ and Tony winds you up then I voted ’No’ and he winds me up too.
So - he’s more interesting (and more annoying) than your typical contibutor, but in the end, given the extreme dullness of Dave Reade’s post, I’d like to be wound up by him than slag him off.

Have to wonder if Tony is sat back in his chair reading all this and wetting himself laughing. He does make some good points sometimes, if you take the time to read his pieces while ignoring the rants you’ll see that. I think he just throws in the rants sometimes for a windup.
I’ll be the first to admit that I have read some stuff I have been about to submit and have deleted it just in time, the reason being that it has been pompous stuffy overly serious horsecrap. Maybe we should all sit back and take a look.

Tony Marsh is 2 different people. Have you noticed how his posts are so vastly different? Sometimes he writes well, with correct punctuation and makes lots of good well laid out points; then the next minute he’s ranting in long-winded sentences with no regard for the English language, not to mention regard for fellow blues!
Gawd bless ’im!
