No to England

After watching the recent England match and listening to them all get more than over-hyped about beating Israel I have to really ask myself: Do I really want Everton players playing for such a bunch of ridiculous half-wits that is the national team? And I'm going to start with the pathetic immature dickheads that watch England and sit there and sing that same old crap `England til I die`. What a bunch of total hypocrites...
Did anyone hear the booing for Phil Neville when he came on the pitch as sub? What the fuck's wrong with these people? Then there's the David Bently booing... For God's sake he pulled out of a U-21 match for the benefit of his own fitness and if he had played and he had been shit then he would have been deemed not good enough or the U-21 manager would have got the stick for picking a player with burn out.
The fans of England stand there singing the national anthems. The same little knobheads who smash everywhere up abroad and cause mayhem. God Save The Queen... They`ve got a cheek! I am ashamed to be English sometimes when I see the state of some of them and the way they behave.
So for me I may get a fair bit of disagreement but I would rather just stick with club football thank you very much and just watch international football as a leisure seeing the best teams of the World play their football and give me some entertainment. Thanks!

Another thing Richard, these so called 3 lions brigade, have been screaming for the new Wembley, and they can’t fill it, I’ll reserve my
judgement on the team till after Wed night, I dont think its going to be the stroll, they are expecting.

Well said, never have been and never will be an Engerland fan, bunch of arrogant xenophobic tossers, the team consisting of only "the darlings" and decent players for decades have missed out. Keep our players to ourselves and don’t send them to get splinters in their arse or booed or in the case case of AJ when he ever does get on the pitch not even a sniff of the ball, what have that lot ever won, one trophy in a hundred years, bunch of loser primadonnas who only want to play with their mates.

Absolutely Gavin. Why would you want to see your club players put through this type of abuse.
Also, the way you treat your managers is amazing. The abuse Sven got as manager, when his record was as good or better in major tournaments than most of his predacessors, was amazing. You could nearly imagine the eyeball rolling and the muttering of " bloody foreigners" when Scolari turned the job down.

At last, someone else who echoes points I’ve been making to people for years!
England fans are a bunch of knuckle grazing neaderthal who give us nothing but a bad reputation abroad. Our National anthem is a joke and all the anti Germany/Argentina/WWII/Falklands/IRA chanting makes me want to puke.
I still support England and love watching the World Cup and European Championships, but its always from a safe distance these days. By association you become viewed as one of them and thats not a place I intend to put myself.

I totally agree with not wanting to be associated with the fans. At the world cup last year, I wore the Green and gold for the Oz games (and did I go mental when Cahill scored his goals against Japan), I wore orange for the dutch games and I even wrapped myself in the german flag while watching a german match on the big screen... but for the england game we went to I just wore a t-shirt. When our hosts asked why, I said it was because I didn’t really want to be associated with the English fans!!

While I don?t necessarily agree with all the England fan bashing... there are a few reasonable ones out there... watching half the crowd flee the stadium at 3-0 with 10 minutes to go, is a disgrace.
It?s no wonder the national team struggle for confidence and cohesion when the fans can?t stay and cheer for them when they?re playing well! Sod the traffic and your Saturday night plans, enjoy the atmosphere, savour the victory and prove to the rest of the world not all football fans in England are complete cretins!

One of the main problems now with thr new Wembley is the corporate seats, they have been block booked for 10 years (I think) and the poncey fookers couldn’t even be arsed to leave the bar for the second half. There was a massive empty space for about 10 mins of the second half where the big wigs were finishing off there cigars and brandy.
Bunch of corporate arse

Where was Lescott? I saw Wes Brown on the bench. He hardley gets a game for the Mancs. where as Lescott’s been brilliant for Everton for the past year. Brown only got in the squad ’cause he plays for the Mancs. Never rated McClaren. What’s he ever achieved?? He plays certain players ’cause the play for the so called big four.

I was genuinly shocked at Bentley?s reception. Surely the point of being a fan attending games is to encourage your team? Getting roundly booed whilst going onto the pitch as a sub, by your own fans at homein your debut must have a negative effect on your performance? And I also agree with your comments about being ashamed to be English. I remember cringeing at a documentary with footage of young English yobs at the world cup. It?s this whole chav culture thing ... it?s like its cool to dress like a prick, look like a smackhead and for everyone to hate you.

I?m not xenophobic, and I?m not a royalist. Booing the opponents anthem and your own players is moronic, but I think it?s simplistic to tar all England supporters with the same brush.
I like to see England do well and I was glad to see them win, perhaps McClaren will now see that the team can play well without Lampard for instance, and no-one should be undroppable.
But I?m really pleased there are Everton players in the squad. Whilst there is a potential downside to it (fatigue and injuries) and it would mean more to me to see Everton win a trophy than England, the two don?t have to be mutually exclusive.
And in terms of Everton?s image and ?media presence? is does us no harm at all to have a squad where 3 players - and counting, hopefully - get picked for the English national side. If it makes Everton a more attractive place for up and coming players to come to, and I think it does, then I hope it continues.

Good point Sam, you can?t pigeon hole a set of fans. Of course not everyone who goes the England match is a tool.
Rob - read my post again and read it thoroughly. I don?t go on (a)bout all yobs being young. Nor do I suggest that all young fans are yobs. I?m only in my early 20?s myself. All I say is that I saw a documentary with footage of young England chavs being tits at the world cup and it was embarassing.

the last 3 tournaments have done it for me, 2006 WC in particular. The whole assertion that we are world class before was completely embarrassing once the tournament started and teams like Argentina, Ivory Coast and Mexico got going.

I think I have to agree with you Mark. One mention of the word ’young’ doesn’t really justify someone claiming you are going on about it

I dont think anyone was ’tarring them with the same brush’ its more that the image portrayd to the rest of the World is a negative one. The meatheads who sing the xenophobic songs and smash up bars (not to mention the attacking people with garden furniture when abroad) are the ones who get noticed. Yer average fan (of which clearly there are many) dont get mentioned and why would they? Trouble is its not the young, its the older generation who continue to preach that shit to their children and as a result it’ll continue. The band don’t help either (are they backed by the FA?) The reason I say that is because they’re often the cheerleaders, and they play the dambusters theme tune ffs!!

The average England fan is a clueless idiot whose football opinions are based on what is written in the Daily Star or the Sun. Their pathetic chants, the fucking band, booing their own players.
I went to England Scotland at Euro 96. There was a Scottish man sat next to me; when he sang the Scots National Anthem the guy on the other side of me leant across and punched him in the face. This was after putting up with chants of ’there ain’t no black in the union jack’ on the underground.
Witness the lynch mob mentality in Andorra recently. Arseholes the lot of them.
90% of international football is lower standard than club football. I can accept a world cup QF against Brazil is the highest level, but games against Andorra, Israel, Russia, Macedonia. These teams would struggle to be top half in the Premier League.
Club football every time.

England are the international Newcastle. Won fuck all for years and still believe they belong to be held on a pedestal when really they are not in the same league as Germany,Brazil, Italy and Argentina to name but a few. Also thick fans who are over rated another thing in common... I mean how much longer do we need to hear the same old bollocks tunes from that annoying band? Fucking move on you cave men, it's not the 60s anymore and players from West Ham are not going to win you the World Cup. They keep bleating on about too many foreign players in the Pemiership. Maybe they should look at the underachieving shit that so called super Stevie G and Wayne Rooney and that world class great Rio Ferdinand bring up. hey should join a mini league with Newcastle just the two of them playing eachother game after game. The papers and media would be well chuffed with that...

In the 70s and 80s England fans abroad were among the worst football fans in the world : drunken, violent, xenophobic, and infiltrated by Nazi groups. That’s certainly changed, but who watches England now ? If you’re visiting Wembley often, never mind away matches, you probably earn a packet. The images of empty stands at the start of the second half, and of people streaming out when their team is 3-0 up, says it all. Whoever the ’real’ England fans are, it’s not them. Don’t go to Wembley expecting the same loyalty, passion and tension that you’ll find at Goodison or virtually any other top club ground.
It’s not just the In-ger-land fans that bug me. I’m sick of the media obsession with the fortunes of the England team. I’m interested in the football, and there’s so many great international games and footballing stories that don’t involve England. I’m sick of the flag waving that’s accompanied every tournament we’ve been in for the last 10 years, and fans singing the national anthem, for godsake. I don’t identify with the flag which has been lifted aloft over so many brutal wars, and I certainly don’t feel any allegiance to our unelected monarch.
This said, I think it’s stupid to slag off England fans in general. Millions of people count themselves as England fans, and I’d hate to break it to my 11 yo nephew that this makes him a ’clueless idiot’.

If I was David Bentley I would fuck off from the national team all together and put tell them that to their arrogant faces..Lets be honest he knows the media picks the team anyway and he is not going to be part of it regardless of how good or not he is...Sod them all
