Let's get back to talking football

Comments (9)

Enough of this endless Kirkby talk... let's get back to talking football! We have a massive game on Saturday a great opportunity to defeat Utd, we have possibly got some injuries with reports that Howard, Yakubu and Anichebe have picked up knocks. One of our players scored a fantastic goal for Scotland, a virtually a unheard of thing happened: two Everton players coming on at the same time as sub for England at Wembley.

Our supporters, though perhaps not as great in number as some clubs, have been put through the mill by many years of mis-management, but the tide has started to turn, investment has been made in quality players at prices that in the past we couldn't afford, the squad is now larger and hopefully in January more is to come. The dross has been weaned out of the squad with I am sure the remaining dross living on borrowed time until another window opens and replacements of superior quality are brought in. Let's talk football!!!

Rather than asking everyone else to talk about football, why don't you just do it? But to be honest, how much is there really to say ahead of the game? (Without going all FM on us, that is). I'd rather watch the game, and then talk about the football we actually played. I know a lot of people don't seem to like post-match analysis but, second to actually watching the games (and drinking yourself to oblivion with yer mates in a pub near Goodisoon!!!), that's the most important thing to my mind. And it's a while since we had any football to speak of... but still, don't mind me: HAVE AT IT!

Okay then COYB lets have 3 points this weekend.

If Wessels has to play no dropping balls in front of Man U players and NEVILLE you play in blue now don’t forget.

Yobo Runty plays for Man Utd now no passing to him this time.

To end Utd we owe you one 3-1 to us will do.As you may guess ever an optimist, stuff it whoever turns out we will win.

Anyway may come back to this on Saturday to see how I did.

But no matter what looking forward to Saturday despite early kick off. Will be in the main stand shouting the lads on.

As Michael said it seams a while since our last match, these dam meaningless internationals only get in the way of the real football.

I can imagine Hitler, Himmler and Speer in the Bunker, Hitler turns to one of his generals:

"What’s the situation on the Eastern Front?"

General says: "The Russians have entered Berlin, ammunition is running out, the 3rd army has surrendered and the Americans are closing in from the West...

Hitler: Fuck all this doom and gloom ... lets talk about the footie!

The moral - shit happens... whether you like it or not.

I hate international breaks!!!

With a bench of

Matt, you missed Amokachi, I think he is better than Barlow. He did well last time.

Ha ha nice one Kevin Sparke!!!

But on a football note - would be nice to keep ourr first clean sheet of the season on Saturday wouldn’t it. Strange that we havent kept one yet considering how strong we were in defense last term. Still we’re scoring goals but Moysie wont be happy with the goals being shipped like they are.
Hope Howard is back, dont want a repeat of last season where we would have beaten them if we had a proper keeper! (Sorry Iain Turner but that was a horrendous and costly error)
Still i think they are there for the taking - especially without our old friend!

Crackin team Mat. One to strike the fear of god into all.

I’d go with a 4-4-2 of

Gerrard
John O’Kane
Kroldrup
Materazzi (world cup winner)
Bosnar
Oster
Alexanderson
Gemmill
Claus Thompson
Bakayoko
Madar

Don’t need subs but you could throw in
Riquelme
Fernandes
Owen
Smith
Lucho Gonzales
just in case someone gets injured.

I think we might find that Mr Badge Kisser is back for the Mancs. Apparently, he’s much the same as Cahill in as much as he can do everything, they’re just not sure if he can stand the full impact of 90 minutes on that bone.

He wants to play and I reckon he’ll at least be on the bench. I think Utd are definitely there for the taking... they’ve made an indifferent start and Hargreaves will be missing probably too. We need Howard and the two forwards fully fit, but I’m optimistic and we owe them after last season. COYB
