What a farce!

Am I the only numpty having problems getting a ticket for the Uefa Cup game? I've been trying the ticketmaster number since Saturday only to be told that I'm not registered as a season ticket holder ? strange that as I have one in my possession, complete with client reference number etc. Having tried to speak to a real person at Everton, I manage to get as far as queue position 1 to be then cut off as all lines are busy, please try later. A real money-making game as it costs about 4p per minute.... I can't buy them online either for some reason.
I've probably spent more than £15 in phone calls so far so that's it, I give in and I'll watch the match on the telly.
This is what really gets to me about this club. I love Everton with every bone in my body but things like this just wind me up so much. They treat the punters with utter contempt. It's impossible to even complain because you can never get through to them. How hard can it be to have an up-to-date list of season ticket holders?
One name, one client ref number ? I had to ring three times to get my voting paper because I seemingly don't exist. Strange how they manage to take money from this non existent person though...
Rant over? Probably not; I'll be able to growl about this for the next week or so. God help the ol' fella when he comes in from work, his ears are gonna be stinging..... Oh Everton, why do you let me down just when we were getting on so well?
Is it just me that's having this problem?

Thank you, Lue. We'll pass your problems along to Richard Dodd, who's hotline to God should come in handy... provided he's not going to deny that there is even a probelm here...!!!

I’ve had my own run-in with the EFC bureaucracy recently too. For some reason, my season card didn’t work for the Blackburn game despite having worked for the Wigan match. I was told by the turnstile attendant that she would let me in "just this once" and that I’g have to sort it out before the next match.
I e-mailed the club twice for advice on how to go about it - neither e-mail elicited a reply, so I rang where a very, helpful and polite employee advised me to send my card in by recorded delivery. The Post Office actually advised me to send it by registered post which cost me £4.30 and a 20 minute queue at the Post Office. Lo and behold, the card was returned, admittedly promptly, in an ordinary envelope with 32p stamp on it.
Still no response to my e-mails, nor to a subsequent letter which basically outlined my objections to having to do all the running to sort out a card that didn’t work - i.e. the club’s problem.
We’re not very good at Customer Services are we?

Strangely, I was going to post a similar thing. I have phoned the Box Office on at least 5 occasions - each time getting to Position 1, only to be told that all operators were busy and try again later!

I have similar problems on a regular basis unfortunately. Being stuck offshore means that I have no choice but to ring the club for tickets as I can’t get to the ground. For months now I have been kept waiting in a queue only to finally get to position 1 before being cut off - its been going on for ages and pisses me off no end.

So I?m not alone with this problem. Forgot to say in earlier post that on one of the occasions I rang ticketmaster yesterday, the very helpful (!) young man gave me a number which I duly rang and it turned out to be, wait for it, ?Welcome to Tottenham Hotspur?.
I don?t know whether to laugh or cry. I also don?t want to cut off my nose to spite my face by not going to the match, after all, I?ve waited long enough for it but I know that if i gave that level of service in my job I?d be through the door within a week. Still growling and ?im outdoors? is ready to muzzle me! Ah, Yes, it?s the Everton way.

It seems to me it’s a technical problem in the call center software, now again, hasn’t its maintenance been outsourced?
It has been mentioned before, but once again: constant quality checking of your outsourced services is vital. It’s as simple as that.

Does anyone know if the cup ticket priority scheme kicks in for UEFA Cup games? I’m assuming it does and that my tickets will arrive in the post just like they do for FA Cup and League Cup games. Am I perhaps being overly optimistice here?

John, in answere to your query, yes it does.
Just as well that service is automated because leaving anything open to human error with EFC always produces negative results.

Lue - i had the exact same issue for the Man Utd game. No record of my client ref number. took about two days to get it sorted - some technical glitch i suppose. But dont give up!!!
Btw, drop them an email - anytime i have mailed them they have been pretty prompt in replying.

Wouldn’t all this be sorted if you ti cked the ’i want all the tickets for cup games’ on the season ticket renewal form? So they automatically give you your seat?

When you outsource your business to companies that don’t give a monkey’s toss about the customer beyond seperating them of their hard earned what do you expect, another glowing example of KW’s pocket filling antics and BW’s spineless failure to remedy the ongoing problems of outsourcing by kicking his overpaid arse to fix it.

It’s been like this for ages. I won’t bore you with all the problems I’ve encountered with tickets, being overcharged on the Club shop website etc, etc because we’ve all had it.
It doesn’t get any better and yet while we accept that the Everton have thousands of customers, they know that and should have proper, efficient systems in place. Other businesses manage it. I wonder whether you have this trouble getting a ticket for one of BK’s West End Shows? I doubt it as he knows theatre go-ers would just go to another show while we have no option where Everton is concerned.
If you want a ticket on Chelsea’s website you can even pick the seat from a map and it also shows you an image of what your view of the pitch will be like. Why can’t we have that? They’ve had it for about 4 years.
It’s a shame as I think the fantastic job Moyesy is doing is being tainted by the tossers who run Everton’s off the pitch activities. Somebody wrote on here earlier, ’ we are not very good at PR are we?’ WRONG! WE are the fans , we are not in charge of EFC’s PR. It is EVERTON THE CLUB who are no good at PR. But these people are paid good money to get this stuff right and other than the Official website (which I think is excellent) and the Matchday programme (outsourcing done well for once) the rest is pretty dire. And we are trusting these people to move us to Kirkby?! People’s Club...my arse! :)

Just call the Everton box office and press option 3 twice. You get straight through to a real person.
I can’t believe you haven’t thought about other options and spent £15 on phone calls.

I have never had a problem with getting tickets, straight through to Ticket Master and tickets ordered within 40 seconds, never used e-ticketing apart from renewing my season ticket, which again was a piece of piss.

I had numerous problems last season, getting the wrong season ticket delivered. After doing "the phone thing" I got desperate.
I saved my biggest whing for my all time favourite blue. None other than Mr Graeme Sharp (fans liason officer).
My problem was no more.
His e-mail address as follows:-

Craig, I have thought of other options like eticketing but because my season ticket isnt registered it won?t let me access the system. Okay, maybe not £15 but it was only a figure of speech, though 4p per minute for what felt like half a lifetime soon adds up. Yes, I?ve emailed them but had no reply as yet and no I don?t want to automatically get every cup ticket because I work shifts and can?t gaurantee to get to every league game never mind all the cup games (she say?s hopefully). If I lived within reasonable travelling distance I would go to the box office myself but it?s a 60mile+ round trip.
The point is, it should be EASY to do this - how hard can it be - one season ticket, one person, one credit card....
I may have been unlucky on this occasion but judging by a few other comments, I?m not the only one who was.

I’ve had a similar nightmare Lue, I tried pressing option 3 but then I would get cut off, when I eventually got in the through to someone I was told it was the main switchboard and I must have pressed the wrong button! After trying for over an hour I got through to the same woman again who took my details and said she would try and get me a ticket, we’ll wait and see on that one. I just hope we win after all this fuss!

I got my mine and 2 mates off the internet though oddly enough when I had logged onto the e-ticketing site it only offered me the next 2 premiership matches and I had to log in as another member at the bottom to get my own ticket, very odd.

I have had no problems with tickets but when I got a email saying they were taking my Everton TV money out my account with out asking if I wanted to renew I sent them a email saying I would let them know if I wanted to renew anyhow a week later I tried to renew and was told its expired and to apply to join at the new price fair enough so far then I applied as told and keep getting the message there is already a member with this name and refuses to continue so they have thrown away my £40 because after trying every day for three weeks with no luck (and I also emailed the club no reply )I now will not bother
