Ticketing AGAIN!!!

"One step forward and two back...."

After all the years of ticketing fiasco's that we have had to endure (remember queing all night for the 95 Cup Final?), I actually thought that the initiative shown by the club ? to reduce pricing and create a season-ticket holders 'period of exclusivity' (sorry I couldn't help that...) to buy their Uefa Cup tickets ? was a little step towards re-building their long-lost reputation in these matters. A simple, painless process which ultimately looked after the most loyal fanbase.

But that was before today, and the 1½-hour queue to get them. Overwelming rush of people to take this option up??? No, afraid not ? 'exclusivity' queue combined with ticketing for all up coming games ? result, many pissed off fans who end up losing an afternoon's work....

Yeah, thanks for that; I feel really 'valued' ? as Bully put it in the season-ticket renewal. It's a good job we love this club because they can really test us at times ...

Am I the only person gutted that we no longer get an actual paper ticket for the UEFA Cup game and I presume all the other cup games? From now on we just use our season tickets to get in the ground. I may be sad but I liked having a stubb to keep as a memory of the match. I have been keeping my stubbs since i was a young boy and now all i’ll have at the end of the season is my away ticket stubbs and a piece of cheap looking white plastic. Moan over!COYB

Chris, good for you being able to get your ticket by eTicketing. Unfortunately, when I logged on I only had the option of Man U and Boro - though why would need those when I have my season ticket anyway? Obviously the OS doesn’t work fully for all of us. The club probably have my user profile inputted incorrectly on their database.

I’m confused by Paul Clay’s comment too as when I phoned Ticketmaster to book I was told my ticket would be posted to me.....

Away Tickets.

I’m a season ticket holder living in Poole, Dorset. Tried to get tickets for game at Reading (This is obviously closer for me than a home game) prior to the Wigan game from the Park End Box Office.
As I had not attended enough away games last season I was told to come back on the following Monday!
Do me a favour I live 265 miles away. How am I supposed to gain credits for attending away games if I cant get tickets in the first place.

Paul - I called the box office on 0870 442 1878 chose option 3, then 3 again. I purchased my ticket and the lady I spoke to advised me that I would not recieve a ticket and that I am to use my season ticket to swipe in on the night of the game and that this is the way all home cup games will be this season.

Paul

Clearly there are different permutations at play here - I queued for Uefa Cup tickets with my season cards and was given paper tickets.

Incidentally I visited the ’Fan Centre’ (!) on Monday to be met with a huge queue. I wanted to find out a) how long in time terms the queue was and b) when the ’period of exclusivity’ (damn, you’ve got me at it now!) for season card holders was.

BUT .. no stewards to ask, so I enquired at the club offices ... Yes, you’ve guessed it, I was told to ask a steward!!!!

E-ticketing worked for me last night in the end but took a few tries. It wouldn’t accept credit card - after log in screen saying ONLY credit cards would work?! - so I had to use debit. Then I needed 2 but could only buy one at a time.

Better than a couple of hours queuing though.

I seem to be having similar problems with the official site. I tried to purchase tickets for the uefa game with evertonia membership today and can only get tickets for utd and boro game on the site. i then called Ticket master who can actually see my membership but can’t allocate tickets. Tried to call everton and waited for an hour at the head of the queue to get no where.

Infuriating.
