7 Games in 22 Days
Comments (22)
So, Internationals almost over and we're going to have 7 games in 22 days. What are we all going to be talking about over the next 3 weeks I wonder? The stadium debate will no doubt rumble on until the groundworkers move in and start moveing rubble around, so hopefully with all these games to get our teeth into, we'll all get at least a little respite from the newground thing, which I for one am everso slightly bored of now.
So the fixtures are as follows with my predictions:
Man Utd - Away 2-1 win
Metalist Kharkiv - Home 2-0 win
Aston Villa - Away 1-1 draw
Sheffield Wednesday - Away - 2-1 win
Middlesbrough - Home 1-0 loss
Metalist Kharkiv - Away 1-1 draw
Newcastle - Away 1-0 win
Two weeks later we have Liverpool at home which I reckon we'll win by 2 goals. I for one cannot wait for the next few weeks.

And we're already without Tommy, Timmy, and Jimmy. Not good. You know, we've discouraged this FM / prediction nonsense because, if you think the ground move has gotten boring, just wait 'til everyone and their mother tells you their predictions for the next seven games. Talk about boring! Why can't you just wait patiently until each game is actually played and then talk about something real?

I’ll go with that Mate, but I’m sure it’s Man U at home!

Totally with you on that suggestion, Michael and just looking at the next three games over that eight day period, I for one would hate to predict the scores for any of these games.
Let?s deal with the damage when it happens and see where we go from there.
Nothing like a bit of optimism eh?

Optimism? He?s predicting we LOSE a home game to Boro ? how is that optimism? And he doesn?t even know where we are playing the "Big Game" on Satdee. Allan: kick-off is 3pm: see ya there!

Michael, although I agree that it would be boring to see everyone’s predictions - it is surely more exciting discussing something which might/could happen than discussing something which has ’happened’. Perhaps we should only discuss the ground move after it has happened?

And for some reason this guy thinks we can beat Man Utd away but not Boro at home. Did he draw these results out of a luck dip bag ?

My optomism has taken a blow for the next few games with the news that Gravesen is going to be missing through injury..Im not suggesting that at the moment Gravesen is holding our creative key to midfield but we will certainly miss the steadiness he brings to the team especially with Arteta seemingly being man marked by everyone this season..Arteta is still the man but if he gets closed out we need someone else there to be imaginative and creative..I think our best hope is getting a draw at home to United unless Arteta can brake free from the shackles and roam around like last season. At least we will have Yakubu and AJ up top ( fingers crossed ). Im not looking any further than the game on Saturday and nor will Everton..Thats a big game for us on Saturday in terms of if we win it because of the boost 3 points will give the club.

Isn’t the kick-off at 12.00 on Saturday ?

So I got a few details wrong; I copied & pasted some of it and it went a bit wobbly so I had to re-jig it. I’m not getting into an argument with Micheal over what we can & can’t post, its not worth it.
I just thought it might be nice to look ahead to the games we have coming up and get a bit excited about it - I dont see any harm in that.
Oh and Boro away is a game I think we’ll lose. We often lose to the teams we should beat, so there.

i agree with the lucky dip comments, where has this bloke got his predictions from ???

Seven points off the next four league games ?.........bite their hand off if that is the offer.
Last season we took just three points from these four matches.
Two cup tie wins in three games.........when did we last do that?.........serious question !
An away draw in European competition ?
when was that last done ?
Mr Hobbs.............while I disagree with you on venue for Man U and I believe we should be able to beat Boro at Goodsion........I still think you are an optimist and I will be very happy with six of the results that you predict.
Can we get three points on Saturday ?
That is the big question and I have no idea of the answer........like Mr Kenrick , I will just wait and see but I do not , for one second , believe Man U is currently as bad a side as some posters have been suggesting.
I do believe Phil Neville is a decent man and a good pro but he does make me nervous when I watch him playing against Man U.
I honestly can’t blame him........how would any of us feel about playing against and beating Everton if we were pros?
Alex Ferguson has ,for most of their adult life ,been like a second father to both of the Nevilles and they both had long and successful careers at Old Trafford , winning most of the game’s biggest prizes and earning fortunes that meant neither brother ever had to work again after a career at United.
Is it any wonder Phil loves that club and finds it hard to go against them?
Man U made that guy everything he is today in finance , football experience etc. etc.
I promise right here and now to try not to join any negative postings about Phil if he scores another og on Saturday !
A Phil Neville winning goal FOR the Blues on Saturday ? - now that could not be scored by a nicer guy !
Before you stick the boot in again Michael - that was not another of these forecasts that bore you so much !
The truth......I don’t care who scores our winner on Saturday !

I’m actually not too confident about this game against United. Ronaldo will be back, they have started off slowly but all that means is that they are bound to explode soon, and now Saha is back and Rooney could be as well. I hope we can get a result, but with Howard picking up an injury and now Gravesen being doubtful, this just looks shaky to me. I hope we do, we’re a good side, but we’ll need Goodison to be absolutely rocking.

Well pardon me for being optimistic, and pardon me for daring to make such a post. I had no idea you bunch iof miserable fuckers would have such a ’piss your pants’ attitude to this kind of post.
In future I’ll happily not bother if you’re all gonna throw your toys out yer prams.

Jimmy Mac has to, has to get a game after those two goals. He’s showed he’s got that extra bit of magic and is capable of taking down even the biggest of teams, even the Champions. Come on Moyes, drop Johno, give Faddy a chance.

Whatever anyone says predictions are idiotic. Lawrenson has managed to make this blindingly obvious form of football entertainment his own with his pathetic musings on the BBC site, and the thought of him inventing something or saying anything vaguely original is ridiculous. I?ve been doing a mini predictions league with my brother in the USA and and Arsenal friend in London for many years, and I may be crap at it, but it?s provided a nice regular means of communication and given us some enertainment, but that?s it! That?s the only possible use of this. To lay it out in an article on Toffeeweb is simply pointless - any fool can do it, and no one will ever be correct. React how you like Alan, but predictions are a total waste of time.

Optimistic Evertonians... what next? Has Doddy put something in the water? I used to be optimistic myself but have learnt that?s not the Everton Way...

Martin - you’ve been doing them with your family & friends for years, I make one innocent throwaway post on a forum and all of a sudden I’m an idiot wasting everyones time.
Pot, kettle, black my idiotic friend! What an absolute pilluck.

I agree with Alan regarding Martin’s comment. Why the fuck does he do the same thing with his family then slag you off for it. I believe the word is hypocrite. Also if you thnik his post is pointless, why bother replying to it in the first place? Some people....
