Finch Farm

Comments (8)

I wonder whether anybody could shed light on this: first of all, the Toffees were due to move in to the new Finch Farm training site when the first-team squad reported for pre-season training (early July). Then it was supposed to be "towards the end of August" according to local press reports. Obviously, these dates have now passed and still Bellefield is alive and kicking. Just when are they moving in? I'm not after any blood or anything, just curious.....

The same issue has plagued me John to be honest. I trawled the internet all summer in an attempt to find photographs, Club statements or basically any proof that we’d acutally started work on the Finch Farm site.

The pictures were released about 6 weeks ago, and as far as I am aware the transition is imminent. I believe Moyes inspected the development about 2 months and in his typically Scottish manner did a professional "snag" of the building and found untold issues and problems that he wanted fixing before the bulldozers moved on to Bellefield.

Rather encouragingly though, I read Cahill’s interview yesterday regarding his rehabilitation and he referred to the fact that he had been using some of the new toys at Finch Farm, so fear not pal, we can’t be far away from moving.

Cahill said in a recent interview that he is training there, using the gym, pool, etc...

Would be on evertontv if it were open though.

I live close to Finch Lane in Halewood. The buildings look complete the fields have goalposts up, their is a carpark being constructed and a blue and white barrier across the entrance with a gatehouse. They have widened Finch Lane which was a narrow country lane, put a pavement in for pedestrians and put white lines in the middle of the road. There is an old farmhouse at the entrance with someone living in it.
However there are also lots of JCB’s around and mounds of earth obstructing the view when you look through the gate.
It is very open there and being in close proximity to the river we dont half get strong winds in this area as there is little shelter.

For anyone interested there was a gallery of pics of the new facilities posted on www.nsno.co.uk a couple of weeks ago. The pics are of high quality and show the manager’s office, changing room, canteen, gym, pool and pitches. A genuinely interesting viewing for any of you other geeks out there

I forgot they have also put street lights up in the lane.
Easiest way in if your going to look is go down Higher Road in Halewood and turn left just after the RSPCA building which is Finch Lane.

Should be no more than a couple of weeks before the first Academy groups start training there, closely followed by the 1st team.

Billy people complain that Mr Marsh will not stop going on about the move But IF all you yes voters keep picking on him whats he suppose to do other than defend himself I might not agree with some of his posts but there is no doubting his commitment to Everton that does not mean Kenwright Tony keep flying the flag mate
