Manny unhappy

Comments (43)

Fernandes has reported to Goal.com that he is unhappy at being left on the bench at Valencia. "I always want to play, I've wanted to play since the first day I arrived. But no player likes to have just the odd two minutes." Would we be willing to snap him up in the next transfer window if he were made available?

Fuck no. Well, maybe on loan.

Moyes has a history of giving players one good chance of playing for Everton. If the refuse they do not get contacted again. Savage, Barton ect.
I have my doubts Moyesee would go down that track.

Let him rot on Valentia’s bench. He had his chance

No. He can’t just pick and choose when he wants to sign for us, just because he’s not happy at Valencia.

Ha, hopes he’s having fun. Ass.

Well Peter..Moyes is now giving Gravesen his second chance. Never say never!

Valencia got it right.......about his minutes -and very wrong about the inflated fee.

Fernandes is a bench guy.

Has anybody ever seen him play for 90 minutes ?

Maybe when he is older but not yet .

£12 million for Fernandes ?

Everton missed him ?

We were very , very lucky!

I have a feeling we are wrong about Fernandes after hearing Irvines interview where he clearly states we had not sorted everything out like Kenwrights claim who knows what went on

christ i cant believe some people are still abusing fernandes, moyes and irvine in particular have said that he acted fine throughout the whole saga and no blame can be placed on his shoulders...and yet dumb fucks still give him abuse.

If he likes the taste of goodison humble pie let him come and eat. another loan spell would be great. we were all (mostly)crossing just about everything that would cross a month ago for him to sign. just coz it didnt work out doesnt lessen him as a player. its all just rumour right now but i?d welcome him back.

Don?t be stupid, he?s a quality young player that has shown the right stuff. For 3.5M he should be made most welcome.

12   Posted 14/09/2007 at 07:29:58

For starters doesnt he have a clause in his contract now of a sell-on fee of ?40million or something along those astronomical lines?? Also, I thought he’d played at least one game for Benfica so under FIFA rules is he not ineligible to play for a third team in the same season?? The Fernandes ship has well and truly sailed.

That’s third party ownership for you. He’s stuck with Valencia for at least four years and if he’s unhappy, well he can do absolutely nothing about it.

I don’t say it’s his fault, he’d had no choice but to sell himself off to those global sport slavers.

But it’s there for all to see why it should be banned.
Mark Pendleton
14   Posted 14/09/2007 at 08:20:37

He is still third party owned. EFC had agreed approx £6m to Benfica and £6m to his "other owners" only for Valencia to pay Benfica £10m for him while still allowing the third party ownership.
Richard Parker

If he’s not good enough to get in the Valencia line-up, then he’s not good enough to get into ours, end of story.

Fernandes had his chance to join Everton. If he wanted it bad enough he could have made it happen.

I say no way we take him back. I’d rather have Wayne Rooney back, in fact forget that I don’t want either of the tossers.

17   Posted 14/09/2007 at 08:49:40

The £40mil price tag means that valencia can?t refuse that offer but they can accept less.
I don;t thnik fernandes did anything wrong but he?s still involved with that third party and i don?t want anything to do with them.

The guy humiliated us, why on earth would you take him back? are you THAT soft?

One part of me would want to be proffessional and welcome him back in the interests of the club should the oppertunity arise. But the other part of me wants to leave him in the wilderness of obscurity. He had a chance to be a Goodison hero, and he fucked us off goodstyle in the worst possible manner.
For me he is in the same class as Jeffers/Ball/Rooney. Fuck them all and never come back-Everton FC do not need you.
Mark Pendleton

Manny had no attachment to Everton such as us fans but he did make it clear he enjoyed playing for us and would have signed for us on a permanent deal. But, when it comes down to it if a top European club came in before he signed for us he, like most players would have to consider it. The fact he never actually signed for us was due to his tp owners continuing to hawk him round to the highest bidder. I don’t place any blame on his shoulders. Yes, he could have steadfastly refused to contemplate another move but come on, who wouldn’t other than die hard Evertonians?
Neil Pearse
21   Posted 14/09/2007 at 09:22:51

No way I think we should take him back, but I still feel sorry for him. He has been completely fucked over by his owner. Everton was a good move for his career, it seems Valencia may not be. But Valencia was a great move for the bank balance of his owner!

I wish people would just get over fernandes for god sake.

He may have had potential etc

But he wasnt even proven.

I think some fans are so desperate to watch a player tie themselves in ?knots? with ?skill?, that he was elevated higher than he had yet proven himself to be!

The goal against man utd aside, did he even influence a final result, with an assist etc?

23   Posted 14/09/2007 at 09:32:41

I hope he gets splinters in his arse from the bench, he gazumped us. He is still part owned by someone else so lets forget about him as he is a decent player but nowhere near the amount of money being touted for him.

That'll learn him ! He'd have been a legend here but chose the dark side. UNLUCKY

God, I thought all the nobheads posted on the Nip. Obviously not.

Continue to abuse Fernandes - after all, what do Moyes and Irvine know about it hey? They have no criticism of him, but you do. Get your heads out of your arses lads.

Alex May - I have no critism of the players abilities. Fact is he’s a wanker and pissed on our beloved club.

I have no time for the man and rank him alongside Rooney in players Everton fans love to hate.

Personally I think it says it all about the fella that he?s complaining about being on the bench after only one fucking game.

There?s no doubting his ability, but he is a tit we are well better off without.

Manny did a runner when Benfica got offered 10m for their share and told him to go to Valencia, they probably give him a cut of the extra 4m to go there. If he agreed to join Everton and was waiting for the red tape to be sorted he should not have gone against his word, he scarpered to Valencia and turned off his mobile. He also shook hands with BK on the deal and attended Saturday nights again. The whole thing stinks we were left looking fools and Fernandes can rot in hell as far as I am concerned.

31   Posted 14/09/2007 at 12:36:28

Don?t care about the circumstances any more, we have plenty of midfielders to choose from any may yet get the added creativity required from Pienaar or even Ossie if he stays consistent.

Manny?s a kid and made his choice, so now he should focus on proving his worth to his new club rather than bitching after a couple of games. If that?s his personality, then we?re better off as there?s no guarantee he?d have gone straight into our midfield either.

We don’t know for certain exactly what happened. I have a feeling that the "OWNERS" forced the move, as did you see the photos when he was revealed to the fans, he looks as miserable as fuck.

On the other hand he may have seen CL games and pissed on our chips but as I have said I doubt it.

33   Posted 14/09/2007 at 13:09:45

Manny hated the British weather, from what I seen of him in my humble opinion he was also a fair weather player who blew hot and cold as his mood dictated. The decision to move to Valencia was for lifestyle and financial reasons, the guy even had the audacity to train with the Everton team prior to the weekend that he completed his transfer. Give me mad-dog Gravesen any day of the week.

I’m really feeling for the guy. Almost close to tears. This is what is known as Karma!

As for Tommy G, he put in a 5 year stint before one of the biggest clubs in the world came in for him so you really can’t compare.

Dutch Schaffaer. I don’t recall asking anyone to demonstrate further ignorance of the situation regarding Fernandes, but thank you for doing so all the same.

If you can provide evidence of why he ’is a wanker and has pissed all over the club’ I’d be delighted to see it. Perhaps you would like to inform Moyes and Irvine who seem to disagree with you.

Benfica are happy with £10m for their half of the player, whereas we had agreed £6m for him. I can’t believe that Benfica didn’t turn down the extra £4m, but such is life hey. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi and all that.

Still, you blame the player if it makes you feel happy. They do say that Ignorance is bliss.

It’s probably a combination of everything said on here. Benfica got more money if he went to Valencia, the Third party owners get more money in the end and Fernandes gets CL football.

It’s Win - Win - Win !

Sure I’ve heard that phrase somewhere else recently ( something to do with a Supermarket, a council and a football club ).... and as it’s now proving for Fernandes never does it work out that everybody wins...

A guy I work with went to the Benfica academy with Manny and was speaking to him just after the transfer fell through.
He said that he basically had no choice in the matter. Benfica rang him up and ordered him onto a plane to Spain from Liverpool and that was that.
Personally I’d welcome him back if we had the opportunity to take him at a lower price than £12million.

That story is just a load of bollocks. He will definatly get into the Valencia team sooner rather tha later. Did anyone see him for Portugal under 21s? He bagged two goals and was immense.

People have completely got him wrong. As if he didnt want to train with the sqaud. Dom King is the worst bulshitter ever. He is not even a blue for one and he bums up to Kenwright. I have actually seen pictures of Fernandes, Cahill and Arteta in the Trafford centre aswell as having a meal with Joseph Yobo and Lescott.

Of course he is going to blow hot and cold he is only 21 years old. He will be better than Arteta I have no doubt about that. I remeber people where saying he done nothing except a trick versus Arsenal but I tell those people to watch this:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6240707472983266206&q=manuel+fernandes&total=114&start=10&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=3

People who rufuse to realise the talent Fernandes has need to start watching him closer. He is one of the best young players in europe without a doubt. Name one player around his age with all the physical and technical attributes. The only person I can think of is Diaby at Arsenal but Fernandes still got the better of him head to head.

I dont hate him. I am angry he didnt join us but I dont think the deal would have went through anyway which would have left him as a hate figure at Benfica. He had to choose between rotting in the reserves in Portugal or joining Valencia and he made the right choice. He waited for near enough 2 weeks so I dont blame him. I we’d have got it over and done with he would be our player but at the end of the day he is not and our team is still decent so lets get on with it.
