Picked up the Visitor Guide to Liverpool 2007 and browing through came to "Your essential guide to 48 hours in Liverpool" and day two you are at 10:00hrs to visit Liverpool FC Museum and Centre. We, Everton, are not mentioned!

Further on in the guide under Sport, there on the first page a picture of the Liverpool squad and their website address, we are mentioned but always after Liverpool. To be fair we do have a picture of Goodison on the next page.

In my opinion it all shows how far behind we are in the marketing of our club and I worry that when we move out of the city boundries we will fall even further behind. My faith in our CEO is non-existent and the Everton Marketing Department reflects the inepitude of his organisation.

I thought Wyness was actually responsible for a substantial INCREASE in marketing (ie, commercial) revenue generation by the Club since he arrived? That's what it says in the Annual Report... You're not telling me that is a pack of lies, surely? I do believe it has been audited by highly reputable accounts.

I think you should be more careful what you say, George. Didn't you read what Sheffield Wednesday are doing about unofficial websites who publish false or inflamatory statements about their Board members? EFC could be asking us for your 'details' next..!!!

It shows the bias of Liverpool city council and we will be well shot of them when we move. It’s taken them over 2 years to pave whitechapel and still not finished.

Actually Ian, it shows their foresight they know we are leaving so why make any reference to us ?
Saves re-printing the darn thing after we have gone and saves rate payers money

Really Steve, they knew at the beginning of 2007, or actually 2006 is when the brochure would have been made, that we were leaving? Because we hadn’t announced we were leaving, we hadn’t announced the vote would take place on the move to Kirkby. Wyness has nothing to do with the publishing of the pamphlet, the tourism department are responsible for this. What is shows is a bias in favor of the Reds. And if it does show that they know we are leaving as you say, it would only be because they know they aren’t going to offer us a descent site or any funding assistance. I’m pretty sure they did know that last part. They give the Reds Stanley Park and offer us a site looped by busy motorways. I can see how those two sites are comparable.

If we had an Everton FC Museum and Centre I’m sure it would have been mentioned! I think your reading a bit too much into this, although the little things are annoying.

It’s a mystery to me why Everton FC are proposing to house the David France collection away from Goodison Park or wherever we end up.

Surely you want it on the Club’s premises to act as a link from the past to the future.

Of course, a few things spring to mind.
1/ Wyness is effectively outsourcing its display, saving money, BUT missing the point completely of what ’’the world’s greatest collection of football memorabilia’’ could do for Stadium visits and the Club’s image

2/ Perhaps they have asked it to be housed in the Liverpool Records Centre ( or whatever it’s called ) because they always knew we were leaving Liverpool and thought they’d leave the past behind as well.

The people running our Club are devoid of imagination or any semblance of giving something so unique a proper place. No wonder we don’t rate much of a mention in that guide... our Club just doesn’t understand PR.

Has anybody looked in JJB Sports shop outside of Liverpool? Wyness was raving about the great deal to supply Everton Kits in each and every branch. My arse!!
He and teflon Bill could not market a brothel!

On top of that there was a brillian piece in WSAG about the 08 launch programme that had more mentions about Tranmere than it did about us!!

And Chris, no need to go outside the city, the stores at Speke and Williamson square stock a derisory range of overpriced Everton FC ’tat’!!
Won’t change until we get a different CEO
