Good boozers near Goodison

Comments (9)

Fellow Evertonians, just wondering where the best watering holes near Goodison are? I will be coming up from London to watch the Uefa Cup game and would like to visit as many of the best establishments near Goodison before and after the game. COYB!

County Road has the biggest array of watering holes, take your pick really. I suggest you start At the Black Horse and work your way towards Goodison from there. By the time you hit the Royal Oak you probably should be well and truly trolleyed. There’s a fair share of kebab outlets along the way too which should be a bonus.

If you want somewhere with a degree of elbow room and a pleasant atmosphere I’d try the Elm Tree or Orrys. A little bit further away than the pubs slap bang next to the ground but you could try them also and the Winslow would be the obvious choice

The Red Brick is a fine establishment..... and you can see the ground from the side door, which is always reassuring. Personally, I find the post match sesh the more favourable!

I’d agree the Abbey 50 yards up from the megastore is a small place but with a good atmosphere. My choice.
