Sheffield Weds Away Tickets

Comments (10)

For all those people who don't seem to be able to get tickets for the Sheffield Wednesday game because of the atrocious service offered by our Ticket Office, why not try ringing the Sheffield Wed Box Office?

I'm sure, given the poor start that the Owls have made, that there will be some provision made for "casual" away fans that turn up at Hillsborough on the night without a ticket - i.e. a facility to pay on the door at the away end. After all, the ground is hardly likely to be packed to the rafters, is it?

Same goes for Villa by the way. They normally offer a ticket on the day facility for away fans but beware, this may have changed this year because the away fans' sections has been changed - we're not behind the goal any more, so it's uncertain how many seats we have been allocated.

Just a thought.

Just sent a nice e-mail to Sheffield Wednesday asking about provisions for away fans to pay on the turnstiles.

I will let you all know as soon as I get a reply.

The official website claimed tickets were on general sale Monday.I live in Hull and obviously cant get to Goodison to purchase. as of today still cant purchase via the Web. I caled in at Hillsborough yesterday for five tickets for my mate and three kids. They wouldnt flog me any not even for the family enclosure (the bird thought it unwise!!)

Everton ticket office told me to fax them my card details and that should do the trick. I did this and supplied E-mail address Fax and telephone number. Requested a quick reply of confirmation.

That was on Tuesday with no reply as of taday.

My kids keep asking me if we are going Cant tell them anything yet.

Never known an organisation put up so many barriers to sales.

I have had to apply by fax for the Sheffield Wednesday game too as i live in Sheffield and can’t get to Goodison. Just rang our box office and they tell me that whilst they have my request on the ’system’ they arent processing any until the weekend and Monday. They assure me that tickets will be sent out in time.

My worry is that they are selling tickets from the goodison park box office and could sell out before they process my application. They reckon that they can’t process the requests because they are so busy with the tonights game and Villa on Sunday (which you can also only apply for through fax/post!). What a farce.

Why can’t they process away match sales through the internet or telephone like they do with home games? It would save hours of staff time going through faxes and letters by hand and it make it a hell of a lot easier for Evertonians like me!!

Is there anyone at Toffeeweb with some inside contacts at Goodison that can get this question answered by an official source at the club? My e-mails just get ignored!! Another example of poor customer service.

If we want to compete at this level and be in Europe every year then this kind of fixture congestion is going to happen most weeks. The Box Office needs to get itself sorted sooner rather than later. In the meantime all us exiled evertonians continue to get this poor service when all we’re trying to do is support our club!

Ian, I can see you and me having to turn up on the night to pay at the gate.

My mate had tickets for the Hull Chelsea game but gave them up when I assured him I would be able to get tickets for sheff wed.

He will probably twat me and my kids wont speak to me for weeks.

The shit EFC put us through!!

Ian,Tufty and all the others struggling for the Wednesday tickets, living in Chesterfield I was experiencing allthe above problems and becoming desperate. However I have managed to get tickets sent to me from Goodison. I phoned 08704421878 ( Goodison box office I think?), going through the usual hoops of press 1 for this, 2 for that etc. I held on until help arrived! Within 8 minutes I had secured tickets. Good luck.Hope this helps all the currently ticketless toffees out there.

The whole thing is a shambles.

I can just see it now.

Turning up at the gate with the kids ticketless, getting knocked back on some spurious technicality.

Then the tickets dropping through the door Thursday morning.

Then spending a year trying to get my money back!!
