Well you wouldn't listen and now once again I am sure you will agree David Moyes and his useless side kick Alan Irvine have no place in European football.
Embarrasing, Shambolic and utterly
pathetic is how I see it. The thing is though the referee has given the Moyes minnions the excuse they need when we crash out in the Ukaraine.
To be honest I knew we would struggle in Europe playing the way we do but Karkhiv arent even European minnows. Barely formed Tadpoles more like but

Embarassing, humiliating, sickening, pathetic, unacceptable
Moyes you are clearly not the man to take us forward so get your fucking coat and put us all out of our misery for gods sakes

It’s frustrating to say the least.
Sack Moyes and get Mourinho.
Will it be the same movie as Bucarest???

worse than Bucarest...we’re supposed to be a decent team these days...what a fucking farce eh chaps!

Utterly pathetic. The team had no idea what to do out there, nobody knew where they were suppose to be on the pitch, or where their team mates would be. The passing was dreadful, not one player had a single good first touch. I’m sickened by that performance. The Ref should be taken out back, but AJ missing that 3rd penalty takes away any excuses for that performance. Moyes has had his last chance and really should be relieved of his duties at this point. Yeah we had injuries to some important players, but to be unable to beat some fucking Ukranian side at Goodison Park with a sell out crowd, with a man advantage, there is no excuse for your teams preperation Moyes. I don’t know who could replace him and frankly I don’t give a shit right now. I’m sickened having to finish the day at work, in my jersey that is only making me sicker as I can’t get away from this result.

Tony Marsh,
Part of me actually thinks this result pleased you so you can give it the ?told you so? line.
If the ?barely formed tadpoles? you refer to really are that shit then surely that gives us at least half a chance in the Ukraine?
Granted, we weren?t great, but then neither were Metalist. You can crow and cry all you like but it?s half time in a game of 180 minutes ? I have never thrown the towel in when drawing halfway through any game ? let?s just hope the team adopt my attitude and not yours in a fortnight’s time.

Its sad that we are so crap without Arteta.
Anthony Newell
Posted 20/09/2007 at 22:37:55
The sad thing is I don’t hold out a hope of getting anything in the away leg
Expect "Moyes parts company with Everton" rumours and lets hope that this time round it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy

They even looked a better side than us with 9 men. Why is it that they could pass the ball fluently and we look like a pub team? We are clueless with the ball at our feet. Disappointing night for the club on and off the pitch. Can this club ever learn?

The most redicules game of football I have probably ever watched. Its was like watching kids.
Bad team selection, bad formations, bad passing, bad decision making.
Simply crap.
P.S. I wish Moyes would shut up, sit down and relax, perhaps then his players will relax and play some football. I was giving me a headache and I was watching it on TV.

Dave right now I dont give a shit about what does or does not please me mate.I am worried about more humiliation for the club I have followed for over 30 years.I am sick to fucking death of Liverpool supporters laughing at our European pedigree but how can any of us defend that?Moyes is not going to take us any further and I have known it for years now.We will get away with hoofball in the PL but what then. What is the point in the players slogging thier guts out to get in to Europe only to have the manager fuck it all up come match day. Please tell me you can see Moyes is not good enough for this club and take that fucking Irvine and his writing pad with him when he goes.
James Bicknell
Posted 20/09/2007 at 22:36:26
hoofball no worky in europe. how does moyes not know this ? everybody else does !
we will never play attractive football under moyes, that alone is enough to make me have thoughts about not wanting him in charge anymore.

Actually I thought Metalist were decent, so I would be astonished if we got through the away tie. Almost certainly we have fallen at the first hurdle again.
Moyes actually tried to do something different - a more attacking three strikers up front - but it failed abysmally. Everyone just looked utterly confused. You have to conclude that Moyes knows how to eke out 1-0s and 1-1s. But that’s it. Not a clue how to beat a decent team in a cup tie. Utterly embarrassing. A disaster.
When this happened two seasons ago the team’s confidence was wrecked until about February. It could happen again.

Shocking to see Phil Neville punting balls up the pitch from the centre when Baines and Hibbert / Yobo were in space out wide in crossing positions near the end. At least trying to vary the tactics would be nice.
Richard Dodd

Yet another shocking decision from a referee sees us forfeit a game we totally commanded. Most level headed Evertonians will realise that we played well to deserve a 2-0 victory of which we were robbed.Don’t lose the faith-an away win is well within the team’s compass.

Hoofball doesn’t work in Europe, hasnt Morhino proved that - he has been sacked, should we follow suit?
Steve Hopkins
Posted 20/09/2007 at 22:53:39
I don’t see how we played well, I’d actually say we were outplayed for large periods, I didn’t see the possession stats but I’d guess that at the very least it was 50-50 and more likely karviv had quite a bit more. They certainly used their possession a hell of a lot better than us, they nearly scored with 9 men FFS!!

Whereas Mourinho had a reputation for getting the best out of his players it appears the opposite is true with Moyes. For the good of this club and the morale of the players, this situation cannot be tolerated any longer. Moyes, the truth is out. It beggars belief that people are still coming on trying to make excuses. We have seen enough in this season so far to tell us that Moyes simply cannot take us forward. Neville, in midfield again, Moyes you FUCKING THICK TWAT
Karl Masters
Posted 20/09/2007 at 22:47:50
I have defended Moyes, but that performance was dire. Forget the penalties, although that’s another debate in itself, we were just booting it up the middle all night even when they were down to 9 men and we could have got behind them. Neville and Hibbert were the worst offenders.
However, it’s only half time and we have to get over it, learn from it and go and grind out a 1-0 or similar over there. Shouldn’t have come to this and the Ref was a joke, but we are where we are.
On another note, interesting to see the Club’s Box Office fucked up big time causing a 25 minute delay in kick off. How many people were on here yesterday saying they hadn’t got tickets, never mind the ones who couldn’t get through? That needs sorting out first thing tomorrow.

dirt, once again we play with no midfield and everyone wonders why we couldn’t finish the game off, our game plan seemed to be get the ball to the halfway line and then hoof it up the pitch and hope for the best, moyes has got us as far as he can and with him staying here we will have season after season of frustration. forecast for everton, no cup runs plus a sixth of seventh finish equals nothing to cheer about

Dodd that post is a new low even for you - we were utterly shite and its all down to Moyes - how can the ref be to blame when he gave us 2 pens. The missed pens are not the point we were so bad it has yet again turned us into a laughing stock - the kopites will have loved every moment. Get rid of the shite one

By the way, was I the only one who thought Big Vic looked far more effective than Yakubu? And to think that James Vaughan is even more effective than both of them.
Hurry back James, Tim, Mikky, Tommy...Going to bed now. I’ve had enough!

Alan, I’d say sixth or seventh is highly optimistic with the PE Teacher. Another crash and burn season, Dodd, please remove your head from your posterior

What I don’t understand, is that when they went down to 9 men,why did we continue to pump the ball down the middle? The difference between us and a good side is that,A good side would have been patient and looked for the openings.
Paul Tran
Posted 20/09/2007 at 23:00:32
Richard Dodd - did the referee give away the goal? Did the referee make us belt the ball aimlessly down the pitch for 96 minutes? Did the referee miss two penalties?
We could quite easily go there and win, or we could go there and make fools of ourselves again like tonight.
Its a results business and once again on the big stage, Moyes has got it wrong.

Everton tonight totally devoid of any technical or tactical plan, Midfield totally inept and surely this game must bring the curtain down on the Neville / Carsley axis. Moyes although short of midfield options due to injury must take the blame for this latest European misadventure. Cahill, Arteta and Gravesen must be shitting themselves (sic) about getting back in this side. Disgusted.
James Newcombe

Ball back to Neville... Long ball towards the box. Cleared. (Repeat). I thought after the first 5-10 mins or so, we were really going to put them to the sword - but we just didn’t build on this and our game just turned into Wimbledon (who dey?) style football. There were a couple of positives, Baines was exceptional as was Lescott and Hibbert actually impressed me too. Without Mikky and Cahill we have no midfield! What is the point in spending 11m on Yakubu, and 8m on AJ when there is no service? Even Van Der Meyde would have been welcome for at least half an hour (availability permitting)
Derek Bolland
Posted 20/09/2007 at 23:10:24
In actual fact,Doddy’s summation is totally acurate. If AJ’s pen score had been allowed,Everton would have won 2-0 and these columns would be awash with praise for a job well done.Moyes has brought us this far and you don’t turn on your own because fate treats you badly. The Marshes of this world are what make it such a depressing place.I can’t wait for the return leg!

Da Silva is on-loan to Barnsley! One of the things he has been praised for is his range of passing. Which is just what we could do with!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but for christ’s sake to say we deserved victory is far from the truth, we played shite and yet again some European no marks put us to shame with passing and movement, for fuck’s sake how hard is it? The complaints could go on for hours, I have been working in Scotland and had spent last night at Ibrox watching Rangers v Stuttgart and actually said we could do Rangers the way they played but having driven for hours this afternoon to get home on time to get to the game I wish I hadn’t bothered. Tony Hibbert couldn’t cross a ball if his life depended on it but must be some Moyes love child to constantly get a game, Neville and Carsley in midfield at the same time DOES NOT WORK how many times does Moyes need to fuck up for the penny to finally drop, in fact the midfield tonight had no shame whatsoever and no one seemed to know where they were supposed to be. James McFadden played another one of his special games trying to go past every player instead of making a simple pass, Yakubu can’t play in that team, no supply and doesn’t look arsed, AJ has no confidence and since when does anyone that has just missed a penalty get another, surely schoolboy lessons but hey does the ginger Special Needs one know this? Baines looked quality, Lescott looked our most likely player to score all night until Anichebe came on, sorry but game over yet again at the first bastard hurdle.

On the way home I started to think of past managers their strengths and weakness and I believe Moyes is most like the screaming skull Gordon Lee as both seem to prefer perspiration to inspiration and that is the problem all the first names in his team are the workers if they dont stop running and hoof the ball long then their in the last twenty minutes were a disgrace no attempt to get to the by line or even wide to cross no just long punts down the center.
Mark Morrison

Totally agree, Moyes has no tactical or team selection qualities whatsoever.
