Disgusting, My Apologies
Comments (12)
I'm sorry!!!! Sorry for all that times I have posted messages on here passionately defending Phil Neville.
I am also sorry for the times I have slated people for critisising AJ.
I also apologise profusely for bad-mouthing those supporters who have posted messages saying 'We are not good enough', because the truth is..... we arn't.
Tonight I have realised that Phil Neville is a liabilty. That AJ was a flash in the pan, and that Yakubu is a mix of Beattie, Bakayoko, Brett Angell and Mikel Madar all rolled into one £11million mistake.
Am I over-reacting? No.
Tonight, I realised that we are nothing without Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill or Tommy Gravesen. (Gravesen who arrived as a fringe player for fucks sake). Thank the lord we signed Wessels, because if we did not have him we would have lost that game tonight.
Phil Neville gave the ball away more times than Northern Rock have had to write cheques to customers. Tony Hibbert tried to pass the ball to their keeper every time he got it. Yakubu: fat... slow... disinterested... his first touch was heavy, his shooting was light?????
AJ looked like a child in a school match who wants to be the hero, except he also looked like he had never seen a football before and was playing tic with the defenders.
I posted comments the other week about how strong our squad is, I now retract every statement I made. I have even tried not to blame Moyes but the is the one who puts Neville and Hibbert in the side and leaves Jag on the bench. The only shining light was Anichebe who looked like the £11million signing.
I am tired of thinking about this now, I am sick over it.
Good day.

I was against the Yakubu transfer from the very first links and I am sick that my fears have been confirmed.
Moyes has thrown £11 million away, Ferguson has Veron, Wenger has Jeffers, Mourhino has Ballack but Moyes tops them all with Yakubu.

Count the number of clear-cut chances either forward had to put the ball in the net. Four for Johnson — three spot kicks and a tap in after the whistle had gone at the end.
I’ll concede that Victor Anichebe, despite sharing Yakubu’s physique, somehow looks more effective than Yakubu with his back to goal or with defenders at close quarters but fundamentally strikers need service to score goals. AJ screwed up royally under pressure from 12 yards tonight but I’m willing to bet you’d need less than 10 fingers to count the number of clear chances he’s had to score so far this season.
Our problems, as ever, are in midfield. It was exactly the same two years ago against Villarreal and Bucharest and we haven’t learned from it. Instead, we penny-pinched over the summer so we wouldn’t have to pay new wages in June and July and got screwed at the last minute by Benfica/Fernandes with no time for Plan B. You reap what you sow...

Metalist passed better than we did, moved better than we did, controlled the game better .etc, showed more desire than .etc, were better tactically and technically than .etc.
Fortunately I’ve been invited to a Charity do on the night of the return leg so I won’t have to watch such second rate crap. Bet you all wish you could join me!

I think the on-going inclusion of Neville, Carsley, Hibbert, McFadden, Osman etc. might be nearing the end for Moyes. I think he’s stuck my the ’old guard’ out of recognition that they have over-performed at times in the past and he owes them a chance to keep their places despite newer signings (a similar thing with Kilbane in the past). But I now feel he needs to populate the side with flair and relegate the others to the bench. Hopefully this may be the watershed event that the team needs to progress and Moyes must bite the bullet!
I’m on record as saying AJ has been living off the brace of derby goals for two long, and I’m getting tired of trying to justify his Everton and England credentials when his work ethic and grafting continues to be more than his apparent striker skills. I don’t know whether he should be dropped or not. I think the service he’s been receiving for a while has been dire, so I’d like to judge him when the likes of Arteta and Cahill return and he doesn’t have to get the ball from his own half!.
As for the Yak - I warned others about him when he was signed (having seen him many times at the Boro)and I have a real bad feeling he’s going to fulfil my expectations - He could be Moyes’s ultimate folly.
I really don’t think the team needs too much tickering to get it back on the road. Get rid of Hibbo and Neville, bring in all the new boys, get Carsley and Osman on the bench, and give Vic an extended run (whilst Vaughan is still out).
I think Fernades got cold feet after seeing the way Moyes was running the team, and I know Arteta will see through it as well unless we start to turn over a new leaf and put the emphasis on our midfield and creating more width!
Come on Moyes and everyone - it’s yet another wake up call!
