Remember This Day At The End of The Season
Comments (17)
Message to all of us who get really exited/nervous/suicidal.. at the end of the each 'good' season (every 2 years) about whether we can hold on to sixth place or whether, if Man U win the League Cup as well, we could sneek in to europe in 7th. Whats the point?
For the second time in 3 years we have proved to be the laughing stock of the English Premier League and Europe. Our manager tactically is woeful and his team is probably the most wooden, uninspiring side in the whole of Europe. Yes there are worse sides than us but at least their players look comfortable on the ball. We just rely on scoring from set pieces. Football by numbers ? no flair, no imagination, no pace.
What's more it's gonna really wind me up when Captain Nev (who talks the talk but sadly is unable to walk the walk) starts spouting off again at Xmas that the early loss in the Uefa Cup dented our confidence and we are only just recovering our form because of it. Mark my words it will happen. Broken records and all that, Phil.

evertonians deserve better and so if they want to have a rant and rave then let them do so, and stop worrying about threads, and start worrying about the team !

I agree with you, but with every thread being the same it just gets pushed down and lost on the page. If we were only given one thread to speak on, then everyone would get their views aired.

After all, Bolton and Blackburn did not fare any better.

Sorry Neil, but if that was an attempt to calm people down it was a pretty bad one. We should have won that game 5-0, Metalist were woeful. Moyes’ tactics are the reason we didn’t. He started with a new formation we haven’t played before, we were even more narrow than usual, the opposite of what you should do if you expect the opposition to defend, and we couldn’t even attack from full back on one side because Hibbert was playing there. His substitutions, two like for like swaps, did nothing to change anything. I don’t really hold the players to blame as they were restricted by what they had been told to do, they had no space or passing options because we were playing so narrowly. It was as bad a tactical display as I have seen in a long time. Plan A was lump it forward and hope for a knock down or set piece, Plan B was lump it into the box and hope for a penalty. We created nothing of any note whatsoever from open play. There is no way around that.

Sorry Mike but your comment "I don?t really hold the players to blame as they were restricted by what they had been told to do, they had no space or passing options because we were playing so narrowly." can’t excuse them one bit. Blame Moyes all we like but they’re the ones who can’t hit a 20yd pass or run into space or even trap a ball cleanly. They’re the ones who switch off and allow forwards/defenders to slip past them etc. They must shoulder the blame as much as Moyes. Do they need to be told every ’effin thing? Have they no sense of resposibility? I bet you can work unsupervised....I wonder if Moyes has to wipe their arse for them?
