The Mail Bag
No height, no speed, no strength, no width and no craft

I have supported Everton for over a quarter of a decade now. My heart breaks when I see a performance like the one at Villa. No height, no speed, no strength, no width and no craft in this current Everton team. It seems like the team is made of a bunch of flukes. The defense is panicky. The midfield is nonexistent and the strikeforce is lightweight.
With this kind of performance, we should be happy if we are not in a relegation fight come end of the season. Villa made a mockery of us. They were strong in all departments and imposed their authority on the game. We started brightly but things get worse and worse as time went by.
Even if Everton win anything this season, I won?t be convinced because it?ll be a fluke. When will Moyes realize that Neville and Osman are at best classy substitutes? Victor is like McFadden, McFadden is like Osman, Osman is like Neville, Neville is like Carsley, all flukes. This current midfield has destroyed any hope I have. If we do win anything with this midfield, it will be down to fluke and fluke and fluke and fluke?

The defence panicky? I bet you most teams in the premiership would love to have Yobo, Baines and Lescott.
No speed? Im pretty sure AJ is one of the fastest strikers in the premiership.
No craft? Im also certain that most teams would love to have Mikel Arteta as their playmaker.
No height? Again Yobo and Lescot are hardly short and they can both head the ball fairly well. Admitedly we dont have a great header of the ball in the striking department, but for a little man Vaughan isnt too bad.
Finally no strength? One of the main attributes of David Moyes teams is their determination and teams know their are going to be run ragged after playing us.
Get a grip, its not that bad.

no wonder the villa fans were laughing in our faces, next two weeks vital, three good performances may help erase this from the memory

Were down at the min, but certainly not out, the potential is there so lets get our key players back fit and march on.

If it’s only 3-4 years then you should’ve been here in the late 90’s mate, that was shit personified.

Reminds me of a kid outside the ground at Blackburn when they bought themselves the title. He raised his scarf aloft and cried out: "I’ve waited nearly five years for this!"

The midfield is looking weak at the moment, but lets face it last Wednesday we had Arteta, Cahill, Gravesen & Pienaar all missing, thats not a weak midfield, and in Baines, AJ, Yak, Yobo & Jagielka we have some pretty pacey players.
I think we’ll beat Sheff Wed this week, put on a good performance against boro on Sunday then go and win in Kharkiv. By the end of next week I think we’ll all be feelin much better. Its football no fluke!
