I see Yakubu has been told to work harder or he won't get a game so obviously we aren't going to play to his strengths and just expect him to run into corners chasing high balls, what an absolute waste of £11 mill. I sincerely hope he doen't get booed for this as it's not his fault ? we may as well just buy a 100m runner.
Does anyone think Anderson Silva de Franca, Bjarni Vidarsson or Lukas Jutkiewicz will get a game tomorrow as there doesn't appear to be any point in having them in the first-team squad otherwise.

Unlikely they will play mate as they may offer something different, and moyes dont do different, as for yakubu moyes has asked that he runs his ass off defend, play in goal, and score goals, given the inept lack of service he has is it any suprise to see him failing i feel gutted for him and aj

Chris.
Im agreement mate. Moyes will not change his style of play, or give the young lads a run because he does not know how to play with any flair or creativity.
We are one dimensional and if Wednesday get onto us then this could be a banana skin.
He has to let his strikers of the leash. to my mind he is restricting their natural instincts as forwards by forcing them into alien positions.
Let them do what they do best, play off defenders and not running into channels.

Its getting to the point these days were Everton fans dont give a shit who plays in the team because in the end the result is still the same.Bypass the midfield and play hoofball. Its the Moyes way and has been for 5 years now.The longer he stays the worse it will get.Just think all the kids we have at the club are being taught hoofball as we speak.Moyes will have his stamp all over this club for years to come if he is not stopped. You can change the line up in the side as much as you want but it wont make a blind bit of difference.Moyes is an exponent of Hoofball and thats how we shall play.Like it or not.God I cant stand the Moyes way of playing football.

I think David Moyes does not know how to use strikers . Is it any wonder we buy good striker in james Beattie ,could not score against a barn door for us , but look at him now firing them in at will for Sheff Utd. Andy Johnson came here firing on all cylinders , look at him now . The latest good striker has been told to work harder , Moyes has got it wrong , the team should harder to accomadate yakubu , and Johnson , then maybe we’ll get the goals these guys are well capable of .

Anybody could have told Moyes that Yakubu has only ever had one asset. The ability to put the ball in the net on a fairly regular basis. Now that has never been enough for Moyes,so why the feck did he sign him?He ruined Beattie and AJ,stunted Rooney’s development and is now intent on doing for Yakubu. Is it only us fans who can see this man’s terrible limitations?

I agree with you Tony lumping the ball upfield in the hope that we may get lucky with a defensive mistake is a pathetic way to play football, but as you have touched upon in previous posts i dont think he has the grey matter to change his style, i am going to get lynched for this but maybe a manager from the continent could bring a touch of flair and imaginative play we have been lacking, until then you might need a plane to watch our football.

I wouldn’t argue with most of what you say, Harry, except for the bit about Rooney. When Rooney left Everton he looked like he was going to be one of the best players in the world in no time....arguably he already was. When I watch him now he is looking increasingly ordinary. He runs around like a headless chicken most of the time, he’s lost his tricks, he hardly ever gets a shot on target and seems content to make simple little passes to the nearest player. I don’t think Moyes particularly helped Rooney, but I wouldn’t say he stunted his growth. That seems to have happened since he left.

Absolutely spot on thread about Yakubu! He’s already getting the boo’s from some fans and this will increase. I for one think yakubu is a fine footballer and will never be a workhorse. Play to his strengths and he’ll do the job.
Feed the Yak and he will score....
and do it quick or he’ll starve to death!

Fuck off Moyes and your outdated alehouse metality..We have enough workhorses to do the shit work..Its not worth both Yakubu and Johnson fannying about on the wings..Didnt Moyes just tell Johnson he was playing too far out wide thats maybe why his goals have dried up?. Lunacy..Sheer utter lunacy

re. Continental manager for Everton!
Would you swap Houllier or maybe the soon to be departed Bitternez or maybe the overspending boring football from Mourinho. I personally think we are better off with what we have. The only managers on the horizon for the premeirship are Van Basten or Klinnsman. I am sure they would love to come here.
No manager is going to get the money he needs to take us forward.
Colin Fitz exposed more loans earlier in the week.
Accept it, we have watched a lot worse than this over the last forty years. I have said it time and time again, we are only two or three players short of a good competetive team.
Maybe if we are still in the eufa cup come the transfer window another loan can be taken out. It will not be long before we are bankrupt.

I personally don’t care if Yak sits down on a sofa for 87 mins if he scores goals and wins us the match.
At the end of the day all this hard work and team effort is bollocks in my opinion. A striker scores goals and thats it. Moyes does not understand that. I dont think its a coincidence that beats failed, johnson is failing and now yak cant score and has been dropped.

I fear for our season if Moyes continues to play with such a negative midfield, why play with 3 strikers midweek when you only have Neville & Carsley to supply them.

Wasnt Van Nistlrooy a cult hero at Manchester Utd?. Why?. Because he scored goals, most of them penalties or from six yards out..Did he ever ever go around chasing balls into the corners? My arse he did..He strived off great service from Beckham and Giggs and thats what made him a great goalscorer..How about Shearer?. Same as. Why is it all we ever hear at Everton is work hard work hard?. I know you must have a work ethic and you must put the effort in but wouldnt it be nice to actually play with flair and score goals and to have a striker who can score goals regularly as Yakubu has done at all his clubs..What is the point in both he and AJ chasing balls to the corner flags as someone mentioned?. Theres nobody in the box to score the bloody tap in such as Yakubu did at Bolton..I hate to say it but Liverpool look like they have the answer to their prayers in Torres..They have had all the workmen in Kuyt and Crouch but now they have a ruthless goalscorer who is undeniably world class.. We need a goalscorer..Wasnt that supposed to be the Yak? The way AJ is playing as a practical winger he will be lucky to score five this season especially considering the appalling service at Everton and with Arteta out of form we will hope that is only temporary and how long before Gravesen is fit..My suggestion to Moyes is let players play to their strengths, you knew Yakubus strength was scoring goals when you signed him Davey..Why make him another Beattie, train all the goals out of him and then be deemed a flop..Beattie scores goals at all the clubs he plays at except Everton..I really wonder why..
