Harvey MBE
Comments (11)
A post a while a go called for a petition to be signed online for an MBE to be awarded to Colin Harvey. My inbox had this reply today from 10 Downing Street (my arse).
Thank you for taking the trouble to sign this e-petition.
"Colin Harvey's achievements in football are well known and respected. It is easy to see why so many people want to see his record formally recognised. This is underlined by the hundreds of people who have signed the e-petition on the No 10 website calling for him to be granted an MBE. Your support has been carefully noted."
Fingers crossed...

Dave, you are right that Colin was only a third of the Holy Trinity but his work with the club in a coaching (even managerial) capacity was instrumental in bringing through some wonderful young players ... Maybe it is this contribution to ’football as a whole’, rather than just the fact that he was a superb player which should be recognised.
Of course most bluenoses like me will think he deserves it whichever way you look at it... but I don’t think it will be an Evertonian who decides :-)

Dont’t forget the forgotten 4th man in that midfield - Johnny Morrissey, called the hardest man in football by Chopper Harris and George Cohen. He was an immense ’get out’ option for the Holy Trinity and a very skilful player.
