Can't get to the game tonight - anyone know of any Web links to the live stream? Have tried http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ and http://www.freeviewfootball.com/ but our game is not in the scheduled list.

I guess for a live stream it will need to be broardcast somewhere... I can’t see it being broardcast even in the executive boxes!
Allan Hobbs

No live streams forthcoming as yet, and like Nick says, highly unlikely for this one.

I’ll post back on here if I find one but nothings appeared on sopcast or tvants yet.

14   Posted 26/09/2007 at 20:16:13

No Johnson. Ridiculous. This is a perfect confidence booster game for him. Why did Irvine spout his mouth off ’’leaving him on the bench will do no good’’. Baffling beyond belief.

shows that Neville must play right back

He’s fantastic at that position. Things started to shake up the moment he started at that position

Yakubu squared it for McFadden, Neville had nothing to do with it. He should play right back, not Hibbo though.
Allan Hobbs
50   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:10:43

Scratch that, according to the BBC site it was Neville’s cross helped on by Yakubu onto McFadden who poked it in.

Ossie just missed another one, air shot apparently....same old story there then.
Peter Singer
51   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:09:35

Well, I won’t go as far as to claim Neville is fantastic in right back, but he does a decent job and much better than in center mid.
Jimmy Hoffa
52   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:12:12

Jimmy Hoffa
56   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:15:34

I think Hibbert’s a good right back, but he’s not good enough as a play maker.

Neville seems to be able to do play-making when he’s in right back.

He can’t do it when he’s in the midfield position
Allan Hobbs
57   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:20:13

Hibbo’s distribution is piss poor. He can tackle but thats it, nothing else.

Neville is a good crosser, decent tackler and cos of his experience has good positional sense. He plays well on the overlap so all in all is a much better bet than Hibbo.
Peter Singer
58   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:20:11

Spot on, Jimmy Hoffa. My stomach is in knots every time Neville sets himself up for a punt. He doesn’t do it that often in right back

We’re on the back foot, Metalist deja vu time.
Jimmy Hoffa
59   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:19:51

with Neville permenant in right back, we stand a chance in Ukraine.

when vaughn, cahill and Mad Dog recovers, thing’ll get really exciting.

Not to mention arteta.
Allan Hobbs
60   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:25:59

Apart from the nil nil games, every other game tonight it being won by the away team.

Just thought I’d mention it.
Jimmy Hoffa
61   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:23:18

i think if Moyes were to give a call to eric cantona, eric will tell him that Phil Neville is never meant for midfield positions.

As his mentor that is responsible for Neville’s rise to fame, Cantona will insists on Moyes to play Neville in right back permenantly.

basically the Neville families are natural full backs

68   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:31:38

Let’s pray that DM doesn’t have one of his panic attacks again and play Neville in midfield.

when neville is in the right position, the goals kept coming.

Let us pray ya’ll.
iain thomson
69   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:33:39

Getting through to the next round of the cup is great..lets hope the hibbert/neville thing has now been sorted, surely Moyes must see what we all see regarding nev at right back and hibbert on the bench,
Jimmy Hoffa
70   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:38:04

the question is right now, what do we do with Hibbert?

Do we play him in place of Neville when we are in front so that to reduce the possibility of injury?

Or do we sell him off and get a better midfield?
Yankee Blue
71   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:38:32

Please Moyes play Nev at right back. He changed the second half for us and contributed to the goals.

73   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:40:07

J Hoffa,

I dont think we’ll get anything in return for him if we sell him. Keep him on the squad and give him the occassional game against the mickey mouse teams. He is a squad player and nothing else.
Peter Singer
74   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:40:43

Hibbert is a good cover for Neville and we do need him in case of Neville deputising in another position during an injury crisis.

We need him until we can get someone better.

I have nothing against Hibbo, I don’t blame him for hoofing it up all the time but he’s simply not good enough. Sad but true, he was good enough for us in the past but we’ve moved on.

76   Posted 26/09/2007 at 22:00:12

Peter Singer,

Try this on for size, we play Hibbert at right back but we put Neville as Right Midfielder.

We put Arteta back in the middle?

will that work?. What do u think?
Tony Williams
77   Posted 26/09/2007 at 22:03:58

Ooohhhh hark at you Jack, what’s crawled up your arse mate?

I would suggest that your post is a tad over the top.
Jimmy Hoffa
78   Posted 26/09/2007 at 22:02:47

Yankee Blue,

I think that we should sell Hibbert cause we already have Lescott to cover right back in case anything happen to Neville?

Anyways, imagine now we have Neville at right back covering Right Midfield.

And now we have Baines covering the Left Midfield.

It’s like we are formidable attack force both at the flank.

we can now put Arteta back in the Middle partnering Carsley.

We can put Osman on Left Midfield and Piennier or Jagielka on the Right Midfield.

It doesn’t matter if both of em are crap cause they’ve got Baines and Neville to cover them respectively.

When Cahill comes back, we can push Arteta back to Right Midfield and Jagileka to Left.

what do u think?
Jimmy Hoffa
79   Posted 26/09/2007 at 22:07:13

80   Posted 26/09/2007 at 21:58:35

Jack if you read through you’ll see that there’s people from India, USA, Mauritius, Australia and New Zealand posting here. Bit of a treck to go to Sheffield on a cold winter wednesday for Carling Cup 3rd round, don’t you think? What about you mate, did you got the match?
Peter Singer
81   Posted 26/09/2007 at 22:07:19

Neville and Hibbert next to each other does not look a good idea. If by chance Hibbert opts for a short pass to the closest man instead of a hoof, Neville will surely do it instead of him.

No, if Hibbert is right back, Neville should be left midfield. There’s too much of them if they’re on the same side.
Brendan McLaughlin
82   Posted 26/09/2007 at 22:33:53

Vishal, you didn’t sound very confident when you first told us you had predicted 3-0. More importantly did you put any money on that scoreline?

in order to sell hibbert some one would have to buy him
Thorgeir Finnsson
84   Posted 27/09/2007 at 00:13:20

"Phil Jagielka - not the most popular player in the blue corner of Sheffield -..."

This is in the official match report. Sorry to sound stupid, but are they talking about the Everton supporters not liking Phil or is there a blue corner of Sheffield Wednesday fans that for some reason did not like him?
Nick Entwistle
85   Posted 27/09/2007 at 00:36:19

Yes Thorgeir there is a reason Wednesday fans do not like him. It is your mission, should you choose to accept it, to tell us what it is.
Tony Marsh will self destruct this weekend.
