Why this line-up????

What is Moyes doing?

He says he wants a good cup run, then he drops our most in-form player - Baines - and replaces him with Pistine Mark II, Valente. This means that we have no pace at all down the left flank.

Also, if he is going to persist with this 'I have faith in Johnson' thing, then surely tonight of all night he should be playing him up front with Yakubu, hoping that they will get a good run at the 'inferior' defence of Sheffield Wednesday.

I agree with Carsley and Jagielka in midfield tonight considering the circumstances, however, keeping Hibbert at right back and dropping Neville completely is crazy. Can this man not see the most obvious thing at the club - Hibbert is shit!

Baines benched.... yeah great, the only quality left footed player at the club, and he is not even on the pitch. I know where I would be attacking if I were the Owls.

Why o why is Hibbert starting tonight?? Neville or Jags should surely be in at right back. Were playing the bottom team in the Championship for fucks sake, give young Vidarsson a start to show what he can do in the middle.

We’re in the middle of a run of six games in 18 days. Unsurprisingly a few people are being rested for a match which should have been a comfortable win against a poorly performing Championship side.

BRIAN WOLF - No I am not eating my words YOU gobshite!

My words have been justified by the fact that we were shite til Neville replaced Hibbert at right back, or a you too stupid to see that?

DAN BRIERLY - I know we won mate, but I posted this just before kick off.

Now now children, lets not throw our dummies after what is, sadly, one of the best results of the season.

Baines probably was just rested and will be back for the weekend, Neville was probably rested from the midfield and only came on at right back because of the booking. Hopefully this was fate showing DM who should be the Everton Rightback. As for the strikers, everyone has been asking DM to either give Faddy a chance or get rid, so he is giving him a chance. Last night was a perfect chance for him to show what he is capable off and he did. And before anyone says that Wednesday are a championship side he did it against France and they ain’t.

With the benefit of hindsight, I think AJ should stay on the bench on Sunday.

No way should Moyes drop a striker that scored in the previous game.

Defo agree with that, he has gotta go with the Mac & Yak frontline, with Neville right back pleeeeeease!

Good to see the boys win but I was disappointed that AvdM didn’t even get on the bench after all the talk yesterday that he was involved in the squad - why bother playing Ossie for the full match, wouldn’t it have been worth giving Shandy at least a twenty minute run out

Does anyone know whether any of Middlesboroughs first chocie strikers will be fit on Sunday.

They played with Lee and Shawky upfront last night becasue Mido, the turkish palyer and Aliadiere were injured.

A bit harsh on Valente - the Pistone comparison - I know he isn’t going to set the world alight or be anywhere near Baines at the moment, but I seem to remember plenty of people wanting him back last season when Naysmith was at LB.

Carl, that’s probably because Naysmith is like a slow version of Valente mate, ha ha.

Brian, what are you on?

My comments were that Neville should start in place of Hibbert, whick is what everyone thinks, 2nd half this happened and kick-started our game, how can I be eating those words? I am a blue and wanted us to win!

Are you mental?

What words am I supposed to be eating?

a bit harsh on on Mcfadden to say baines is the only quality left footer at the club.

Rick, I meant to play left flank mate, Faddy is ok up front, but not left side.

Ok I’ll elaborate,

"He says he wants a good cup run, then he drops our most in-form player - Baines - and replaces him with Pistine Mark II, Valente. This means that we have no pace at all down the left flank."

Valente had a good game did he not?

"Also, if he is going to persist with this ’I have faith in Johnson’ thing, then surely tonight of all night he should be playing him up front with Yakubu, hoping that they will get a good run at the ’inferior’ defence of Sheffield Wednesday."

McFadden (Johnson’s replacement) ended up with 2 goals.

"I agree with Carsley and Jagielka in midfield tonight considering the circumstances, however, keeping Hibbert at right back and dropping Neville completely is crazy. Can this man not see the most obvious thing at the club - Hibbert is shit!"

Hibbert is shit so you can keep those words of the plate of ones you need to eat.

"Baines benched.... yeah great, the only quality left footed player at the club, and he is not even on the pitch. I know where I would be attacking if I were the Owls."

Baines benched, yeah of course he is, surely we need him for Sunday.
Why risk an injury to one of our better players?

Eat your words Jarass.

We sit here and moan about the lack of depth at the club, and when we do have it, and give another striker, (faddy) who surely deserves a start, you moan about him not playing?

Valente needs games. Last night was a perfect chance to play him and give him some match fitness, and prove his worth.

As was previoulsy stated.

We won didn’t we?

Ever heard of the term ’Rested’ Anthony. Somehow I dont think Baines was dropped as was ’Captain Marvel’. Valente is a Champions League Winner so I’m pretty sure he is/was ready for last night.

Moyes out Jarass in !

Moyes out Jaras in, here here!

Firstly, I am a fan of Moyes, but I don’t see the logig sometimes in his selections, probably most of you agree with me on the Hibbert/Neville thing, which was my main point, so those words stay on my plate.

Secondly, with regards to my Johnson on the bench comment, I was saying that Moyes comes out and says he has faith in Johnson, yet drops him in place of Macca. I myself agree with the decison, however I am saying that his actions contradicted his words.

Third, the Baines benched comment. I am sure most of you will agree that on here at the end of last season, most of you were slagging Valente off left, right and centre and begging for a left back due to the lack of qulaity we had in that department...agreed??? My argument there was that Valente, who ain’t too hot, has no pace, and with him on the left, as well as having the midfield we had, there was no pace to that flank at all.

As far as I can see, there are no words to eat, so to clarify;

Baines, most in form player, dropped/benched/rested whatever, no pace on the left in an ’important game’

Johnson dropped/benched/rested whatever, after declaring he has full faith in him. Well done Faddy! (Correct decision, albeit contradictory).

Oh yeah, put your full and real names on your posts too if ya wanna comment on my views, or don’t you stand by your convictions enough to declare them publically.
