Gary Hamilton

Comments (8)

I ran into old Middlesborough midfielder Gary Hamilton today. He's coaching one of the MLS' Houston Dynamo's Academy teams. He's a big fan of Moyes, he said they used to travel back and forth to Glasgow when they were playing. Anyway, he seems to think Everton haven't seen the best of Moyes's managing yet.

He also said he could have signed for Everton, but went with 'Boro because they had more Scottish players. It wouldn't be a bad idea for Everton to look into an academy down here in South Texas.

Since when have MLS teams had academy’s? Game is developing quickly over there, it’s only a few years since I worked for MLS but seems to have changed immensely since I was there. Everton could well do with an academy in the states - 20 million kids playing football one or two must be good enough eh?

Paul,Gary Hamilton reckons"Everton haven’t seen the best of Moyes managing yet"He has had over 5yrs now,and I’m still waiting to see this great manager, we are supposed to be grateful for(as some people will have us believe)how much longer are we supposed to wait?

having worked in USA for the past 4 years, the system is changing out there with many teams now setting up their own acadamies across different areas of USA. Everton themselves set-up Everton USA in texas a few years ago, however for whatever reason, I believe this team now runs under the banner of ’Liverpool FC’. However, Everton themselves are one of the most active clubs in north america, especially Canada, where they recently held trials with a view to taking players into their academy - the work the cub have done and are doing on that side of the atlantic appears both very encouraging, the talent that is emerging from US, is improving year-on-year and hopefully everton can use their scouting and Academies to produce some 1st teamers of the future from north america

I think we’ve already seen a damn good manager in Moyes! He’s made mistakes, but name a manager that hasn’t.
I too strayed towards the ’Maybe Moyes isn’t right for us’ in the past, but then I watched a couple of matches from the Mike Walker era and the Walter Smith era on ESPN classics and I realized Moyes has done so much for us it untrue!
Hopefully we haven’t seen the best of him yet, but all in all he’s done an excellent job so far.

I cant see the reasoning of this Gary Who is he Hamilton guy. Everton have had more Jocks than Rangers had in the team.
Dunc, Weir, Turner, McFadden, Naysmith, Collins, both are last two manager/coach duo’s were Jocks, so I cant see the point of this guy.

I know I’ve mentioned it before and will probably get slagged off for it, but put this club back 5 years before Moyes and honestly can we say there’s been NO improvement??
C’mon lads - Mike Walker?? Pissed up HK mark II and III and then Walter Smith.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s some times I can barely watch some of the football we play but we are now seen as one of the best of the ’also rans’. Now yes it ain’t good enough to be also rans but it’s better than relegation fodder year in year out which we were to 10 v v v long years. I don’t know if this guy is the manager to take us to the next stage but he’s got us here and we should acknowledge that. Let’s face it without a Russian Gangster or some rich tool from across the Atlantic it doesn’t matter who we have in charge - we’re going nowhere

I can’t believe that we had the chance to sign Gary Hamilton !! Gary Hamilton and we let him get away !! It is just typical of this club same old story with Owen, Kuyt etc. Just one question: Who the #### is Gary Hamilton ?!!
