Pink Ladies Shirts

Comments (15)

I wanted one of these for my wife having seen them advertised all round Goodison last Thursday etc. Here is the official response from the club

Hi The Breast Cancer awareness shirt is a club initiative by Everton because there are a number of staff and staff friends/relatives withbreast cancer. The awareness day is 30/09/07. There were only 40 shirts made - all for Everton staff - as a promotion for the day. We have tried to seek permission to release the shirt in a limited edition form but we have not been successful.

A golden opportunity to make some serious money for Cancer research wasted!! To make 40 shirts only must have costed a fortune!!

The wonderful folks at the Premier League wouldn't give them permission. Go figure.

Yes, the pink shirt will not be on general sale as the premier league will not license Everton to sell the replica shirt, even as a limited edition. There are only 40 of the tops and they have been given to Everton staff.

Shame really as my daughter is 3 and obviously loves all that is pink. I'm begining the Everton brain washing now to make sure she doesn't stray off donwn the wrong route and this would have helped.

Hi, every female I know has said how wonderful the shirt looks and would definately buy one, how about the club either issuing next season as the second strip or maybe the Ladies team could play in it?

Isn’t there anyone out there, who can make an unofficial one? With all the market stalls round town, with their unofficial scarves and t-shirts, you’d think someone would have had a go!

i contacted the megastore to enquire about these shirts for my two daughters and was told that if made available there would have only been 500 made anyway! What good is that?Subsequent interest shows this would have been a non-starter

Stick a white Everton shirt in the wash with a RS shirt. Put in some bleach and set the temp high. You will get a pink everton shirt. Destroy the RS shirt by setting it alight.

Why does the FA have a hold over clubs on how they sell their shirts?

To regain some lost ’Brownie points’ following a drunken night watching the Kharkiv game, I was thinking of buying one for my wife. Maybe the club will try to get the EPL to reverse this ludicrous edict. What harm can it do?

Surely we have some Far Weastern readers of this website who "know perople" who could "manufacture" these, why do the club always balls up the obvious opportunities, get them made in the Far East through a partner and sell them via that Far Eastern supplier’s website, rocket science it certainly isn’t

Im an Everton Fan living down south. My misses is Chelsea, but she is slowly turning to the right blue!!! When she saw the pink shirt she wanted one so much, I think it would have helped her on her way. Come on marketing department, work for some of that fat wedge you get evey month and get the pink shirt rolling out.
If the Arsenal can wear some dodgy colour for one season surely the Everton Girls could to..& what a great reason for wearing it!!

I am slowly becoming interested in football (due to my husbands never ending nagging!) and would have LOVED that pink shirt. The fact that Everton keeps sending me emails with pictures of it is just cruel seeing as they won?t sell them. Stop rubbing it in our faces!!!

Was trying to buy 2 shirts for friend at work without success.Did not realise limited to 40.On matchday(yesterday) only saw 2 ladies wearing them-Amanda Holden on Large screen and the announcer.Ballgirls were wearing pink, buttoned shirts with the crest on.Could they not be marketed instead of replica top?

Went to the EFC shop to get a pink EFC shirt for my daughter and as someone has said, EFC only made so many. The assistant in the shop said their where 60 made and they went in five minutes. Why didn't the club see this and get more? Does anyone know? Was it the money not coming to the club [goes to cancer research] so didn't bother? Typical.

Let's hope they have a rethink or I'll have to make a trip to the Stanley dock market and get a replica, which I'd rather not.
