David France Collection (Quote)

Fellow Trustee, Tony Tighe added, "We have worked hard over the past couple of years to raise funds ourselves and our ?Heritage Week? staged in March of this year was a notable success, but this is the icing on the cake! We will now be able to conclude our negotiations with Dr France and have the Collection and Everton's own archive all go into the Record Office. We then have to continue with our task. We want to make the Collection accessible from all over the world via a new website we will be introducing. Various parts of the Collection will also be made available over future years to National Museums Liverpool, The National Football Museum, Anfield and indeed at Everton FC's own museum once the new Stadium has been built."

Er... there might be some opposition to bits and bobs finding their way to Anfield. I can tell ou that for nothing.

Some of the earlier parts of it I would assume would be very relevent to the formation of LFC - I wouldn?t be at all surprised if it?s those parts and those parts only displayed at their museum from time to time.

Anyway i?m just over the moon we are at last going to get a museum for our rich unrivalled history - and will get to display parts of that fantastic collection on a regular basis.

Gerard lots of that rich history is being abandoned by leaving the city of Liverpool and the securing of the David France collection is in spite of the club not thanks to it.

I am sure many who have contributed to get this collection are not happy at the idea of it being on display at Anfield its our history even if its relevant to them I for one would refuse to allow this loan

A museum would be good at a new redeveloped Goodison Park or new Everton Stadium in Liverpool. Not some shack in outer townsville. Well I hope you enjoy the museum there Gerrard. A rich and unrivalled history from a club which was so easily lead away from its roots.
