Selection policy

This has been my most frustrating feeling about Moyes ever since he joined us. I still think he is a great manager for us and has taken Everton into another level. But how many people are frustrated by Moyes's team selection at times? Here are a few examples.

Phil Neville ? plays centre mid instead of right back, which is wrong because he tries to dictate play too much and gives the ball away too much, whilst at right back he's a completely player. I mean Moyes praised him for one substitute appearance at right back.. what the hell's happening there? Moyes must know it's his best position.

Andy van der Meyde ? maybe not play him first team at the moment, but give him a chance off the bench for god sakes! He has undoubted talent and is our only proper winger.

Tim Cahill ? I know he hasn't played yet, but where's he gonna fit into the team, with Gravesen here as well? That's gonna be interesting... definitely play him, but I don't know where in midfield exactly or with who?

Now, on Thursday, play Neville right back (Hibbert played decent on Saturday, but we need to score therefore need a more attacking right back) and play Lee Carsley in the middle. Otherwise, keep on the same team. But it'll be annoying if Neville plays against the Mentalists at his worst position.. AGAIN!! Maybe expect more long ball football guys!

If Carsley or Neville are anywhere near the midfield I don’t think I can watch it’ll be all to predictable. I can predict the game better than better than Mystic Meg, an early flurry of excitement followed by persistant lumping it to the strikeforce who can’t play that way and then the last 5 minutes were Moyesy puts the subs on and we so nearly score.

Barry,we seem to read DM with the same eyes. Do you think any proffessional manager is capable of doing the same? It´s time for Arteta to take command and dominate against foreign and top sides and not just shine against medioca opposition.

I thought our recent woeful attacking performances would have nailed the question of where or if Cahill would fit in the team sheet.
For the last time and do I have to shout it from the roof tops?
TIM CAHILL IS OUR ONLY INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED GOAL SCORER!

On the transfer market with the possible exception of Arteta he would be our most valuable player.

I have just re-read Bens post and realise he was asking what was Cahill’s best position and not querying if Tim should be in the team.
For starters I would slot him into any midfield spot, then and only then think about the rest.

Are we all now agreed....? & move forward?
* Davey wants players who close down, or tackle as it used to be called, and the long list includes Arteta, Gravesen, Osman, & all the other suspects.
* Davey no longer plays just one striker, even away from home.
* With a bigger squad, Davey has been able to put congenital fullbacks into midfield to cover the injuries of ballplayers.
* A midfield with Cahill, Arteta & Gravesen would not be difficult to organise.
