A step in the right direction?

Having witnessed possibly the worst Everton performance this season on television last night ( I was almost tempted to change the channel looking for football as I thought I was watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show), I still wonder are we, as a club, heading in the right direction? Last night was not pretty by any stretch, but we got the desired result (a stroke of tactical genius by Moyes in lulling Metalist into a false sense of security perhaps?) and are now through to a major European stage, precisely where Everton should be.

I hope this is something we can now build our season on, as it's going to be a long hard slog now at least until December. Here's hoping for a good group draw. Helsingborg please UEFA dignataries!

Watching Phil Neville last night was something of a nightmare. Is he colour blind or what? Every supposed pass of his went to the opposition. As the old Evertonians used to say, "I have seen a better back on a waistcoat."

I bet you that Metalist side cost a fraction of the team we put out last night. And it goes to show that you don't have to spend mega-bucks on players, to get a side togethor who can actually play football. All you need is the right coach who knows how to get them to do it.
