Anichebe or Vaughan?

Comments (12)

After many arguments with my mate about who is better out of Vaughan and Anichebe, I decided to ask people on here to see who they think. I think Vaughan, he thinks Anichebe.

I’m with you on this one, Anichebe is a big old fashioned hustle and bustle centre forward, whereas Vaughan is a much more polished player and can do the holding, running and finishing from the smallest chances. Let’s just hope we keep both and they both get even better.

I think they should both play - they are both better than no goals Johnson and that lazy twat Yakubu.

I thought Anichebe was the better of the two, but maybe I was looking for a Rooney replacement. That is how I see it though, we have a Rooney and an Owen.

Ideally they will both push each other to become better and sit up front for many years!

Actually, I already think Anichebe is better than the Yak and Vaughan better than AJ!

I agree with you Bret. - Both Vaughan & Anichebe look like they have the potential to become great strikers for the club - they also look like they can complement each other with their styles of play.
Maybe in a couple of seasons they will be first team starters.

Here’s to another good football week..

COYB’s!!

Both are excellent prospects but totallly different players in respect of what they offer.

I get the feeling that Vaughan will eventually be the more prolific scorer of the two.

One thing I can say is that Johnson and Yakubu will not be our main strikers if these two gel as i think they will, into a potent strike force.

A quick word of encouragement for Faddy - at last Moyes is playing him where he shows his best form and not using him as a winger.

I only hope that James Vaughan can get over all these injuries - he has always looked like a true class act when he has stringed a few appearances together. It’s just a bit worrying the number of times he’s been out... hopefully he has just been unlucky and there’s no underlying problem.

Super Vic has gone up in my estimations after the two UEFA games. Put himself about like he always does, the Kharkiv defenders didn’t know what to do with him in either match. Not sure if he’s ready to be a first teamer yet, but the way he composed himself to put that goal away, even though the chance seemed to have gone; is a very encouraging sign.

When everyone’s fit, we are starting to look good up front. McFadden was class the other night - absolutely worked his socks off all game, and scored a great goal: he has got to be a starter now, in my opinion. Yakubu and Johnson will come good when we (hopefully) start playing the ball on the deck again. Getting on their backs so soon isn’t suddenly going to turn them into the Premier League’s top scorers - it certainly never worked on Beattie!

James - Beattie’s form had nothing to do with fans giving him a hard time, it was due to:

1. He was not allowed to play to his strengths

2. He had had his day

I don’t think most fans are getting on the back of Johno or Yak - they are pointing out that Moyes is turning them from prolific goal scorers to greyhounds. I he changed tactics then they would come good.

For my part I was merely pointing out that Anichebe and Vaughan are the best striking prospects since Sharpy.

One of the most positive things to come out of Thursdays game was seeing the composure anichebe showed for his goal.

It was really pleasing to see he had the confidence to steady himself before shooting.

Lets hope that Vaughan can steer clear of injuries and get a decent run in the team too, as I think as others have stated, he looks the more prolific of the two from what we’ve seen so far.

Is it just me or is Yakubu starting to make James Beattie look like a world beater. seriously tho at least with Beattie you could never question the lads heart, yakubu on the other hand does not even offer that hes just lazy.
