Lee McArdle's Welsh exploits

Comments (13)

I have just sat through the Wales vs Scotland under 16 game on Sky. Two of our own are involved. Welsh keeper Connor Roberts recently signed from Tranmere and Gareth Bale lookalike Lee McArdle the centre back.

Lee McArdle took a free kick in the dying minutes of the second half from forty yards out, and belted it right into the bottom right corner of the goal.

He pulled something better out of his hat last week on Thursday too, only from sixty yards out and into the top corner.

Does anyone know if this lad has the potential to make it all the way? Most of the hypen has been on Rodwell. He hasn't featured for the u18s much but saying that he is only 15.

Wales won 1-0.

Anyone seen this kid play for the ressies or anything? He just scored an absolute screamer of a free kick for Wales in the U-16s Victory Shield comp. A 16 year old scoring from almost 40 yards is never something to be underestimated.

Anyone old enough on here to remember Jonny Metgod and "that" freekick he scored for Forest? McArdle’s is right up there with that one.

Remember seeing rooney in the FA youth cup (the year he almost single handed got us to the final). Hit a freekick, a few yards forward of the centre circle to the left hand side, like a freekin’ exercet missile. Keeper had all day to get accross and save it.I have never seen a dead ball hit so well. That is until I saw this!! Ray Hall deserves a knighthood for the work he’s doing at the Academy.
