So what IS wrong?

Looking through the recent mails and their repsonses one thing is apparent ? there is a LOT of anxiety and frustration around Everton just now. We all have our favourite objects of blame... you know the list. However each one voiced illicits an avalanche of counter argument and renders the discussion meaningless.
Meanwhile our underlying common concerns remain. Our league placing continues to have more to do with other teams performances rather than our own. We seem utterly incapable of turning, killing or control matches. Something is wrong ? is there any consensus on what IT is?

I don't think you'll even get a concensus that there is anything "wrong" other than the reality of football in a Football League ? each team trying to beat the other. sometimes succeding, sometimes not. David Moyes is our manager, we play as he wants us to, with the players that we have, notwitstanding injuries. It's a Work in Progress, he ain't going nowhere. Live with it!

What is wrong. Um lets see. One useless expensive tub of lard out the door (beattie) and another in (yakubu) 11 million pounds. middlesborough must be laughing all the way to the bank. and johnson. an injury to him now will not be the end of the world. even if he did score yesterday for the first time since decilimisation. you know you have problems when your leading scorer is a defender!

Its a strange one. We’re scoring a few goals - which is unlike us, but were conceding a lot of goals too - again unlike us.
I wouldn’t be too concerned though. There’s no shame in getting beat by Newcastle at SJP, MK hit tha nail on the head - some you win some you lose. Before that we’d had a decent run of 3 wins out of 3.

In my eyes, Everton needed in the summer to spend on a quick left back who can get forward and cross a ball, a big strong powerful centre mid, a centre forward who can take some of the burden of AJ, and a wide midfield player who could help out Arteta and maybe let him move in the middle. We got the left back in Baines, but not either of the midfield players and it remains to be seen how the yak turns out. Everton should have scoured Europe for the centre midfield player, we have been crying out for some one in there for years.
