Separation

I never thought it would happen to me. Everton are the longest relationship I've ever had apart from my parents but I just can't take this Moyes-infected Everton anymore. He's an imposter and has turned us into a reflection of himself... a below average hoofball defender that has little regard for technical ability and attacking, joined up football.

I know many will say not a true supporter, good riddance, etc because I've thought that of others who quit before. I've followed Everton home and away, had season tickets and even though I've been 5,000 miles away for 11 years still spend more money on them than most. I'm in my 40's now and just cant take the utter shite that Moyes's Everton serves up.

I'll not stray to another of course, I'll always love Everton but until they are free and clean of this depressing influence I have to distance myself. Of course, it's easier because of my geography but believe me its still painful.

I wish the best for you and will take an interest from afar but I just can't enable this relationship for another second... and I wonder how many more there are out there that are getting closer to there own breaking points?

I have to agree mate, I love Everton more than anything. I’m a season ticket holder and I get to many away games as well, yet even when we win and play relatively well, we don’t play with style or entertain, it’s not good enough.

Mike well said mate but dont think
you are alone with your observations I feel exactly the same way and I live here. The trouble is Mike to many of oue fans
are quite prepared to except any old shit just as long as we get the odd result here and there thus vindicating thier hero Moyes.
The kharkiv away game was the first Everton in Eurpoe game I have missed since 1885 and I Couldnt give a shit.Theses Moyes muppets think. this is all we have ever done at this club.I would sooner taker my bird shopping in the Trafford center than watch the embarrasing shite we churn out each week.Oh I forgot we finished 4th once and thats is enough for Moyes to stay for another million years, Please put me out of my misery now Icant take no more.

Well said ! couldn’t agree more , the football is DIRE , I gave up my season ticket 2years ago because i could not take any more of this rubbish , i lasted about 6 games into the 05/06 season walked out with 20 mins left on the clock vowed never to return until Moyes has gone and have still not been back , before that i had 7 season tickets in the lower gwlladys travelled 220 miles each home game to watch the club i love play football , but i’m afraid the shit that goes on at Goodison nowadays doesn’t even resemble football !

You aint alone mate, Im in my fortys and have had a season ticket since I was 7yrs old. I spent five years travelling to every game from Edinburgh and never regretted doing so....but I just cant raise the enthusiasm to watch them anymore. Yes I go through the motions but Moyes is killing the passion. Dont listen to anyone questioning your support...I hope you return to the fold at some point fella.

Fantastic support we have, don’t we?

I thought that being an Evertonian, we were born not manufactured, seems that quite a number on here seem to want to ignore their birthright.

Fair dos, I on the other hand will keep supporting the team I love, no matter who is in charge, isn’t that what being an Evertonian means or do I have it wrong and should I start moaning because we haven’t won the league yet?

Sorry to hear you are biting the bullet mate, but I understand where you are coming from ignore the morons most wont have ever seen a Everton team play they way you,we and a growing number want also the your not a true blue brigade have in all honesty probably not seen as many games as you but of course know better.

Not having a go but it’s easy to give up something that you no longer really have isn’t it?

It sounds that you possibly haven’t been the game in some time due to your locality and I can’t understand why you are now saying you will give up supporting Everton.

Is there a Moaning Bandwagon I need to join, as it seems to have passed me by for the time being.

Gave up my season ticket this year.
Know what ? It wasn’t even a difficult decision.
We are absolutely bereft of any footballing quality and entertainment value.
We have only played a poor Man Utd team, the rest have been mediocre so god help us when we play the Arse.
If we play our usual game against them that 7-0 scoreline will pale into insignificance.
Don’t tell me i’m not a true blue, i have followed us home and away since the 70s and went to my first game when a lot of you where shitting yellow. 1968 to be precise.
I have invested a lifetime and pots of cash, but no more till this charlatan of a manager is removed.

To all of those calling Mike "a whiner", ask yourseleves when did you last actually enjoy watching Everton? I am becoming more apathetic and indifferent with every game due to the dross served up. My blood runs as blue as any other Evertonian but going to the game is losing it’s appeal.
Steve Ryan
12   Posted 08/10/2007 at 23:08:50

Tony Williams your comments would indicate that you have no idea what being a true Evertonian is. Do you seriously think that moving to the other side of the world reduces your passion for the club; if anything it has the opposite effect. There is an army of Evertonians here in Sydney for example, many of whom are members of the supporters club, who are ten times as passionate as you will ever be and much more informed as 90% of our home and away games are now live on TV here. You may continue with your normal patronising, sarcastic remarks against anyone who dares to criticise Moyes but dont you ever question a fellow Evertonian for not accepting shite football.

There are plenty of times recently i’ve "actually enjoyed watching Everton". There have been plenty of games under Moyes when i have too. In fact, aside from the hey days of the 80’s i’ll bet there are far many more times than under any other manager since. It’ll come right.

14   Posted 08/10/2007 at 23:55:17

If someone doesn’t want to watch Everton then fair enough. Mike Price, Tony Marsh, Ian Reddish, Simon James, Ian Martin, Dave Lynch and Alan Clarke I wish you luck on finding a better club who play good football.

When did I last enjoy watching Everton? Probably after the Mettalist game. It wasn’t brilliant and it made me a nervous wreck but I enjoyed it. I felt proud that my team had fought back from what looked a losing battle. I also enjoy going to Goodison every week. It is one of my favourite days of the week. Going to town having a drink with the boys and then heading for the Goodison to park my arse in the St end. When I can get to away games its always a great day out. We have a laugh, its always a good atmosphere and hopefully we get a good result.

The attendances are still good considering the likes of you lot dont want to go and watch the blues so im happy. We still fill our away end every away game without you lot so again it doesn’t bother anyone.
This sites still seems to be full of evertonians so that again is brilliant.

As ive said good luck boys. Maybe Wigan, Liverpool, Man utd, Blackburn, Bolton or City would suit others more.

No one can tell you how to spend your money. If your not happy with what your paying for then don’t pay for it. I think it is a case of cutting your nose off to spite your face if you want my opinion.

We don’t play the most attractive football that’s a given, but you can either choose between ’trying’, and I stress the word, to play the brand of football the Arsenal’s and Manchester United’s play or playing a brand of football that suits the calibre of player we currently have at our disposal.

The sad thing is, you’ll probably be back if we go on a run in europe...

You are far from alone in feeling like this mate, I have been that low many times. Last season I intended not to renew mut in the end I relented 2 days before the first game. I’m still not enjoying it though, I continue to go out of blind loyalty and nothing more. As much as idiots like Ste Birkett try to convince themselves that this is just knee jerk stuff based on one game I know thats not the case. 31,000 against Boro was extremely disturbing, how long before attendances are back in the 20k’s?? It’s easy for these Johnny Come Lately fans to preach all this ’good blue’ shite but in the end few of them have put the time in. 5 years is nothing, come for 20 years and preach the same bollocks...you don’t know nothin. I have sat through Smith, Walker...all the bad times, nobody has turned me off my club like Moyes has though, aided by Kenwright it has to be said. Everton are just a nothing club to me now, I continue to come but I am finding it increasingly difficult to identify with the club and many of my fellow supporters. I understand that it is unrealistic to expect us to win trophies but I will never happilly accept mediocrity. Moyes is mediocrity personified.

I’m well into my thirties now and have seen us play some great football and win trophies, I must admit though that our football isn’t great and is far from how the ’The School of Science’ should be playing.

Having said that though i’m still happy with our clubs general direction on and off the pitch, these are very exciting and interesting times to be an evertonian on and off the pitch and I intend to lap up as much of it as I can. I don’t normally say things like this but I really feel that some of the other posters on this topic simply arn’t ’Evertonians’ in my opinion or not real ones, they thought they were but they’re simply not - good riddance I say to that small minority.

End of the day, shit football or not Everton is our team, if we don’t support them who will?

I don’t like the hoofball game and will complain about it as much as the next guy - all we can do is keep supporting the guys on the pitch and hope Moyes takes notice when we boo him when, at 1-0 up he takes Anichebe off and puts Jagileka on rather than going for the kill

It’d take something drastic to stop me supporting them entirely.

I travelled to Kiev via manchester and munich, then a seven hour coach to kharkiv to the game , five hours back to airport 8 hours wait for flight to poland ,five hour wait for flight to manchester and you know what, I agree with all these lads say, am I am a phoney blue GM? You are one arrogant lad who hates anyones opinion if its not yours.
DM has done a great job but at this moment in time is driving alot of people away.
I was in that ground ( WAS YOU OH WONDER BLUE) and a large proportion of people are losing it with him , ask the blues who went to the states ,bumped into him and treated them like lepers lying that they had a game at Galaxy then when he saw them their got the police in to try and throw them out, after the thousnds of pounds and miles they had spent "How did you know about this? he moaned, fucking wanker.

We will always support Everton but it doesnt mean we have to like everything the manager does. I said on a post not too long ago that ever since Moyes has been in charge at Everton the football has barely moved on since Walter Smiths era. Add to the fact that Moyes has broken our transfer record THREE times and also has a far better squad in terms of class than Smith ever dreamed of. Im not defending Smith, his tactics were generally very defensive but I also think that Moyes tactics have gradually become exactly the same. We have the players on paper but until we find a pattern or a blend to our style of play we willl always make the simple game of football look so so hard to play..When is the last time you saw Everton players use the ball with the same comfort and freedom as Man City have done recently? When did we break at the opposition with five players swarming forward in a wave and commit themselves with a chance of scoring? I cant remember. Everything always seems to be played in slow motion with Everton..Its just the long hoof ball from one of our defenders chipped in hope to the strikers to try and win and score with it. Like I said since Moyes has been here we have never scored more than four goals in a match so thattells you about the general ambition attacking wise. Even under Smith we hit a couple of fives and I remember a six against West Ham. Moyes has done alot of good things and there are memories of some great wins but if we are ever looking for a slick quick attacking good footballing team again its just not really worth hoding our breath. This is Moyes team now and its his choice of style. We either put up with it or we do just pack up and go and watch some better football elsewhere as a nuetral

Unfortunately sentiments I can relate to Mike and I’ve vowed for the sake of my own wellbeing to avoid any more contributions on here if I can manage it. The irony is that it was reading the postings on this site over the last few seasons that has managed to convince me that Moyes is just not the answer, Just because the twat is going to be here for one more season or 5 more years doesn’t mean asking for him to go is childish. The guy is draining the lifeblood out of our best players and what appears to be a sizeable proportion of dyed in the wool supporters who have decided to chuck their season tickets to one side. In fact, it’s fucking responsible to be asking these questions as an Evertonian who has seen far better. The rest of you can get on with the dumbing/dampening down of expectation levels as we slide down the table, the effectiveness of football remaining diabolical and the players we do have eventually wanting to fuck off and who could blame them. I genuinely feel very depressed about what is happening to Everton FC on and off the pitch these days. The sad fact it is that any distraction from watching them is usally a more attractive option these days, drag racing or whatever it maybe

Yeah I agree, lets get moyes the sack, after all, he’s been there 5 years now and built a steady team with the ability to compete aginst the top 4, got the team he built into Europe, and with the help of the awful board we have, we’ve been out and spent £11 million on one player. These terrible times are nothing but a dark cloud over Goodison Park and everyone at Everton should be booted out before the whole club goes under, we drop out of the league and the ground is sold off to build a multi-storey carp park or, heaven forbid, a supermarket.

In fact, David Moyes should probably be sent to the tower, be hung drawn & quartered and have his head paraded around the streets on a spike just to show our appreciation for the last 5 years. That man has done his utmost to make us into a boring side who don’t flirt with relegation year in year out - how dare he. Rubbish manager, rubbish chairman with only their own personal gains at the forefront of their minds. What I hate most is the way David Moyes jumps up & down and beats the air when we score goals, or win games.....bastard, who does he think he is putting in all that hard work and then daring to show any emotion when it pays off. I’m sick of him and his winning mentality. We need a foreign manager, maybe a Spanish one with a silly beard.

Steve Ryan, I may seem patronising and sarcastic to you, don’t worry I won’t lose any sleep over it.

I suppose the fact that I have followed Everton since I was 5, in the 70’s and have been a season ticket holder for some time now does not qualify me as an "proper" Evertonian then.

How can you question my passion when you don’t even know me?, just the usual trait in a person who doesn’t debate, just argues, I suppose.

I am not saying I am right, merely offering an opinion, you on the other hand take a stance in trying to alter views and opinions,

I as an avid Evertonian cannot fathom any reason why to stop supporting our club, even if we are ever relegated I will continue to support our club and buy a season ticket.

I can’t even use the term Fairweather fans, as we are not doing that bad yet people want to jump ship.

You can’t just turn off passion for your club, or maybe you can!
Neil McKinney
30   Posted 09/10/2007 at 10:53:29

In my opinion talk of abandoning Everton is a disgrace.

However, I do understand some of the reasoning and agree with some of the moaning, but stop supporting EFC? I don’t think so!

If you want to criticise Moyes or EFC on this site then fine, but don’t come on here to tell us you’re not supporting or watching Everton anymore. Ok fine, that’s your right and choice, but why do you think anybody else cares!

I agree with Jay Campbell, the club will be there long after Moyes, Kenwright and Wyness have gone, that is assuming all the fans don’t go off in a sulk and the club goes under because nobody’s going to the games anymore. I am not going to question anyone’s love for EFC as that tripe makes me sick, but how can you think that your withdrawel of support is in anyway justified. Moyes, BK etc cannot be blamed for the last 20+ years of turgid football, if you think we’re playing crap now and think that justifies giving up your season ticket, then I would be surprised if you’ve had a season ticket for 5 out of the last 20 years!

You know what.... I’m not going to turn my back on Everton... we’ve had worst sides than the one present and I didn’t turn my back then and I wont now. Expectations are high because are team has raised them so I can understand the disappointment amongst supporters.

The thing which I might turn my back on is Toffeeweb as I’m sick of hearing so much negativity... how did you lot cope under Walter Smith I’ll never know...

32   Posted 09/10/2007 at 11:20:05

Am I on the right website here?! Because some of the posts on here seem to be more at home on a Liverpool website.

What do some people seriously expect? If Moyes had had the money Benitez, Mourinho etc had had, I think he would have brought better players and we would be more attractive to watch, but he hasn’t, so he’s made the best of what he’s got to work with.

Also, he had to get rid of some of the shite Smith left behind (whilst turning us from a laughing stock who were always flirting with relegation, into a team challenging for Europe).

I suppose us qualifying for Europe was Moyes fault as well, as it stops us concentrating on finishing in mid table obscurity or just staying out of the bottom three, which is what really counts to some it seems.

Fuck off then, I cant put it any other way. I dont give a shit how many season tickets you have had in past or how far you’ve had to travel.......you crying bastard. Two solutions, support your local team or live closer. If your not coming, dont!! But dont come on here & bleat about it. Fucking lightweight.

Crying twats, fuck off then. As said in previous post, if you were coming during the 90’s and 70’s (even early 80’s) but your jacking it in now, then your either a liar or you haven’t got a clue anyway. Either way, fuck off

Yeah, separation is the only answer.

After 15 years of sensational football, countless trophies and memorable European campaigns, Moyes came along and spoiled everything ...

Wait ...

How short are your memories? We were woeful, absolutely woeful, for 15 years before David Moyes arrived. In a rapidly changing game - more dictated by money than ever - Moyes arrived and gave us some pride back. He took a team on its way out of the top flight of English football and salvaged our reputation. 4th anyone? European football anyone?

Fine, we don’t knock it about like Arsenal. Who does? I, for one, am delighted at the impact Moyes has had. It has been incredible. I’ll soon book my flights for a couple of cracking nights out in Europe, all thanks to David Moyes.

Before he arrived I watched passionless, unfit, classless teams under Walker, Smith and Kendall. Royle was the only man who brought us any pride at all - and we still played crap football under him.

Anybody who only NOW decides to give up on Everton must have been hiding in a cupboard for the 15 years before David Moyes arrived.

Just about the only good thing about the game today is that I get to see on the box nearly every single game! . I don’t have much choice because I live in Tel Aviv and have done for 30 odd years. Tell me why I choose to go to the pub on a sunday afternoon ( a regular work day in Israel ) knowing perfectly well that we were going to get beat and still I take the time to skive off work to watch the same old shite. Well the answer is simple - I don’t have any choice ! Its just the way I and thousands of others are ! You simply can"t make a conscious "decision" to stop supporting your team . It does’nt work . Its to the death . And that i suppose is the tragedy of it because it delivers us into the hands of a so called leadership who treat us like crap . but we will take it anyway because the drug is in our hearts and souls . for ever.

No one is saying that they are gunna fuck off and support someone else, but people have a right to voice opinions - don’t they?

I agree that the football is fuckin’ shite and I nearly never bothered renewing my ticket as well.

My arl fella gave up going 3 seasons ago (he is 59 now) and had been going since he was 5. What does that tell ya...? I will tell ya what, THE FOOTIE IS FUCKIN GARBAGE at Goodison at the moment. Simple as that.

do me a favour and if you don’t want to support everton cos the football isn’t up to your liking.......SIMPLY GO AWAY.

nobody has the right to watch great football, ask fans of Macclesfield etc.

SHUT UP, GO AWAY AND DON’T COME BACK.

When I was about 20 and Everton last won the League and old fella said to me that I would get bored with football in the end. In his opinion, nobody had ’ a hobby that lasted for life’ and eventually I would lose interest.

I told him then this was rubbish and that Efc was more like a religion. Women come and go, life moves on, you change houses, jobs etc, etc, but Efc remains a constant. Still there at 3pm on a Saturday ( or something like that! ) and that chance of a memory to treasure or a rush that is hard to obtain from other interests.

Over 20 years later, I would concede there is a small amount of truth in what he said, and maybe that is what you are suffering from. It’s all the same to you whoever we play, whatever we do.

Personally, I blame the overkill of Sky and modern football, plus one man. Wenger has produced a series of teams that has raised the bar to the clouds in terms of enertainment. It’s been impossible for anybody, no matter how much money thaey have had to match it. Perhaps if you look at it this way you will stop feeling so dis-satisfied. Times have changed, football is faster ( just dust down a video of footy in the eighties it’s so slow compared to now ) we have brilliance from all over the world in our League. But I reckon supporters of at least 18 of the other 19 clubs apart from Arsenal feel the same way as you to some degree. Modern life: we want it all, we want it now and we want it for nothing.

Ask supporters of other Teams. Everton are now respected. and feared by many. A few years ago that was simply not te case.

I would like to see Everton build on Moyes success so far by adding in a coach to coach the players in attacking play. A bit like that Hank who’s coming to Chelsea from Ajax. One man who srings to mind is Peter Beardsley, but I’m sure there are plenty of Dutch or French coaches available. What do others think?

I hate the way Arsenal play. All that fannying about and crying when they get fouled. And I hate the way CXhristiano Ronaldo plays diving about like a fucking salmon.

I love the way Moyes team plays with passion, as a team, workhorses tracking back etc etc etc

Your not a true supporter, good riddance

Go support leeds

Andy Callan it wasn’t anything personal towards you, just your opinion which I do value and understand. Just maybe it could have been said in a different way.

As Evertonians we all have our opinions and Its good that we have a site to share them, it’s just when comments are made towards another person they can seem personal, not just you but to everyone on here... were all Evertonians and we all LOVE Everton so lets show a little love and respect in our opinions :-)

Mark, why do you hate the way Arsenal play? They play some of the best football in Europe, fact.

I don’t mind how we play by the way, but I would prefer us to play more like Arsenal anyday.

John Loyd, did you go to St James,s Sunday ? Cos if you did, dont tell me you didnt have a moan.
Moyes is a fuckin useless tactician and if we want to moan about his obvious ineptness we will.
No ones crying about it, were just telling like it is, telling people to fuck off achieves what exactly ?
Everyones opinion counts and nothing will change until he realises that quite a lot of us are cheesed off with the brand of football we are playing. If attendances drop something will give and if people want to vote with their feet thats their entitlement does not make them any less a Blue in my eyes.

I live down in Wokingham now. And even though I fucking hate Moyes?s type of football. I still go to nearly every home game and plenty of away games as well, and I always will keep going (even if we move to the shed in Kirkby) ? that's my choice.

But some of you on here are just fucking pathetic. Just because some fans have had enough of the shite Moyes churns out week in week out, there is no need for the abuse being hurled at them. There has been plenty of times driving back from a game, that I have seriously thought to myself "why the fuck do I keep doing it" but at the end of the day I still keep going.

Just because I and a lot of posts on here would never stop going the game, doesn?t make us a better fan than the lads who have had enough. I bet it wasn?t an easy decision for them to make. So give them a fucking break will you!!!!!

I will never say that one is a better or lesser blue than another, and it is everybody?s right to protest by not going to games.

However, I can?t understand coming on here and posting an article about it. It?s one thing to read critiques of Moyes and the team?s performance, but I don?t want to read about this man?s decision to abandon Everton. You?ve made your decision so go away and live with it instead of coming on this site to tell everyone about it. I don?t agree and I don?t care.

See, not a single swear word.

I live in Leeds, they?re playiong Darlington in the Johnson?s Paint Trophy tonight! If that was Everton I?d still support them, just as many of my friends still support Leeds despite their fall from grace.

I know I?ll probably live to regret this but I think we?ve landed on our feet with that UEFA Cup draw!

Seth, my old mucker. I did have a moan. Which you & any other Everton fan is entitled to, but its the threat of "I?m walking away" or "seperation" that winds me up.

If you wanna get involved in football/everton arguments such as "should hibbo be dropped" or "midfield incapabilities" or even "is Moyes the right man" then this is the place.

It is not the place for lightweight, shallow pricks who want to not support us cos our style of play is not what he wants. We take the good with the bad. We are Evertonians for better or worse.

Once a blue, always a blue.
We are chosen, we do not choose etc etc.
I know they are all cliches but I love them, cos they are the difference between us & most other clubs/fans out there.

So if you dont feel them same then my message remains "Fuck off"

Sorry to disagree with you somewhat, John, but we embrace all Evertonians who can express their viewpoint in a reasoable way and not behave on here like a twat. I want to hear from people like Mike Price. I want to hear what makes them turn away. I’m not into condeming Evertonains for having certain viewpoints ? unless they come on here and act like twats. So less of the "Fuck Off" bits, please!

I dont go to many home games because I live in that there London, and its a bloody long way to go when you only have 1 weekend in 2 to yourself. I see lots of away games and will always do that while I live down here. If we ever end up in the Conference, or non league then so be it, I’ll still go see em.

You boys are all very silly, like Lucy said. : )

Hi michael
you say your not into condeming evertonians for having certain viewpoints... unless they dont agree with your view points, which makes them a twat is what you should say. i thought this is all about opinions and everyone has there own from one extreme to the other, we wont all agree, so why has my post vanished i hope you’re not refering to me as a twat?. As you know it can become very passionate and heated and we sometimes like to let off steam. i wasnt threatening or swearing and i hope i wasnt too offensive but its my opinion.

John, I think you will find that a lot of what Mike has said is being uttered by the hard core support of our club.
Thats the disturbing part of Mikes message, I think losing supporters of Mikes ilk has cosequences for the club and I for one want to know how many others are feeling like him and why.

MIchael, I too like listening to Evertonians views, good and bad but the fact that the author of the post is turning away from Everton, he is no longer an Evertonian so I will choose to ignore him and will agree with the less eloquently put phrases about him.

I will not accept that a true Evertonian would turn away from the club he supposedly loves due to him not liking the way we look when we play, it simply does not ring true and I certainly wouldn’t broadcast the fact that I am turning my back on something that is such a big part of my life.

Pretty much as expected really...lots of kids responding probably like I would have once, but lots of balanced thought too.
My final words for a while are that I will always be an Evertonian, I love the club and will always want the best for them and for all Evertonians everywhere.
I think the people that understand realise that to separate is the only protest we have, the only way to affect things. Evertonians have always done this...I remember attendences regularly below 20 thousand...its the only way to change things...tough love if you like.

Great sentiment but unfortunately easy to say when you have possibly not been the game for some time and lets be honest your "protest" will never even be noted apart from on this website.

Or are you trying or somehow suggesting that others follow suit?

Great fans, lets protest the manager and get him sacked, better still lets form EvertonAC and watch them.

Sorry Mike, I just don’t understand your timing or motive for posting this and I never will.

John Lloyd, I didn?t say I had abandoned EFC. I said I had not renewed my season ticket. Try reading the post.

It?s people like you who will make me abandon footy. Moyes is not EFC and never will be. Fans like you make me sick, if we all accepted this shite as blindly as you then we would have something to moan about. Mainly lower league footy.

Allan Hobbs last post sums things up for me...he has blathered on about being a ’good blue’ etc and it turns out he doesn’t even get to the games!! Typical!! You can tell by the way they write that all these ’i’m a betta blue dan u lid’ types are either kids or Johnny Come Lately types. It seems to me that it’s the REAL hardcore supporters of 15-20 years or more who are getting most pissed of with things. When I was a lad I used to say all this ’i’ll go to the games forever’ stuff but as you grow up and mature a little you realise that there is more to life than football. That doesn’t mean to say you give up on it, you just take a different perpective. I continue to pay my money and attend the games(I was up in Newcastle on Sunday) but I just don’t feel a part of it like I once did. I look at these half baked mouth frothing morons stood around me singing ’ohhhhh David Moyes’ as we career towards another defeat and think to myself ’what the fuck happened to my club’?? Each to their own is all you can say really, please leave all this ’good blues love Davie Moyes’ business though, it’s really not the case at all.

Like I’ve said, if you wanna talk about the plight of our club then I’m all ears, I’ll listen to your opinion & either agree or disagree......its called debate.

But your post is basically claiming that the dark late 70’s, early 80’s, all of the 90s are all better than now!! So your leaving!! My resonse without the aggression was basically saying if you ’have’ been to all them dark days and your only abandoning us now its 1 of three reasons

a) Your lying & you’ve always been a stay away supporter, which is no bad thing just makes you a liar.

b) Your completely clueless about football, cos no matter how much our style ofplay is getting on your nerves (as it is mine) it is nowhere near as bad as the times of desperation I felt during all the times mentioned above.

c) you have other reasons to stop coming, financial, family, work...who knows. But your using DM as a scapegoat to justify not coming.

If people like me make you turna away all together then as a couple of my earlier posts have said......fuck off then!

p.s - dont remove that Michael, I’m only having a bitof banter with him

I just find it strange that Michael wants to hear from ’supporters’ who are telling us that they are turning away from the club..

U cant turn away. Ever. If you love football and have supported the team from a young age its impossible..

I tried it when i was 12 (early 90’s) after supporting them form circa ’88 (about 7 yrs old) and i couldnt. I’d check the results and still get reallyt angry if we lost and down hearted!! When ii was 13/14 i knew they would never be such a thing as turning away.. weather we were winning fa cups and 4th in Prem or playing in League 1 / 2. Now im 28.. yeah im not completely happy with our style of play at the moment - but my mindset will never allow me to turn away and forget everton fc. They will be there, always.. till the day i die.

U know i live down south so i could say to myself, sod this im gonna support arsenal. But i wouldnt be able to mentally do it. I couild foolw them, but i would nt feel anything about it. I wouldnt give a toss if they won the quadrouple.

But if Everton just won something, the league cup - id be absolutly overjoyed!!!

So all this - im turning away - either your just throwing the toys out or u were never emotionally involved with Everton FC in the first place...

You know the faces at the aways and I have not met one in the last couple of years who is not thinking the same way.
