We're about to take part in our first ever draw for the group stage of a European tournament (11 am BST). In spite of everything (and we haven't been playing well lately) this represents progress for me. There are five Greek teams in the draw so we have to get one of them, hopefully at home. There are also four German teams, none of which are in our pot, so a good chance of getting one of those.

We are in the third pot. I was shitting in it myself until I saw who we are going to play:

AZ Alkmaar
Zenit St Petersburg
EVERTON
Nuremburg
Larissa

I expect-- no I DEMAND progress here!

Really pleased with this mornings draw. I like to think that we have a great chance of progressing especially as both AZ and Nuremburg are struggling in their respective leagues at the moment. If we play both of them at Goodison I think it'll be a great advantage!!

Would like to think that this is a glorious opportunity for a decent run in Europe, providing we play to our potential of course!!!

On paper it doesn't look too bad. However, Alkmaar are European regulars, St Petersburg are 5 points clear at the top of the Russian leage and Larissa knocked out Blackburn.

Win our 2 home games and draw the 2 away and you play Liverpool in the next round haha

its not going to be a formality getting through but im pretty confident, the key games are az and zenit, hopefully we will have qualified to the knockout stages before we play az away, i don’t fancy travelling there needing victory,

all in all a good draw and im really looking forward to these games and cannot wait.
