AJ to return harder, better, faster, stronger?

According to Mick Rathbone AJ's not only been suffering with a groin strain the past 3 weeks, but has also had an ankle problem which has built up "over a period of years"! Could this then mean we've never seen the best of Andy Johnson?

Besides the lack of goals, I haven't felt Johnson has been as sharp this season, maybe this explains why? Let's hope when he returns from this Op and a months rest he's fitter and sharper than ever. We need him!

I bloody well hope so mate. Having said that we’ll have Vaughany back pretty soon and he always makes a bit of a difference to the speed of play.

I am missing something but didnt AJ have an ankle operation in the summer
Surely they dont have to reoperate already
On a different point, I hope all the people who were slagging off Alan Stubbs last week noticed our defensive performance at Newcastle

I think his performance on Sunday, when he came off the bench, showed why we need him. In the first half we were poor going forward, but once Johnson enter the fray in the he stretched their defence, giving the midfield more space to play and more options to aim for. Not to mention the fact that he then scored the equalizer, but it’s his all round game that contributes to the team what McFadden, Yakubu and Anichebe cannot.

I am only sorry that he won’t be able to play against the Shite - think we could have done with him. Can you really see the Yak competing with Torres. As for Andy not scoring since March, he was out injured quite a while around this time wasn’t he?.
