The Mail Bag

Sights for sore eyes

Dear EVERTONIANS all,

Reading through these very, very, BLUE articles on the whole of this very EXCELLENT site, I would, just for a change, like to get us ALL to participate in a bit of all our yesterdays (stop the moaning and sniping, please).

Can anyone beat this? In 1966 I saw at the Liverpool show, (at the Mystery?) on the same table the Division One 1 trophy (the RS), the F.A. Cup (Everton), the Rugby League Cup (St Helens), The then Central League Trophy (the RS) and the World Cup!

The only security was a man and a big alsatian. Imagine that now! Oh, happy days when you could go to the match (3pm) Saturdays, knowing you were going to win! (Nearly always)

A life-long BLUE. COYB

Great days indeed Ted, just after, the Old Lady(Goodison) became the only league ground to ever parade the Championship cup, the F.A.Cup and the Jules Rimet t
rophy, at any one time, great memores.

In 1984, I went to the Oxford manor ground game, I went to the notts county quarter final, the semi final at highbury, the league cup final (0-0 not the replay) the fa cup final itself, the charity sheild, the sharp goal at anfield, the 5-0 against united at goodison, as well as to paris to see france beat spain in the euro championship finals. also went to see bonnie tyler in concert somewhere near Wrexham. Would have been my favorite year except that some local shite seemed to do better than we did . Still cant stand that stupid spaghetti legs in rome. Cant Imagine neville doing that if the vienna game had gone to penalties.
