Derby County (A)

I see the official site is still saying that we are away to Derby on Saturday 27 October even though we are at home to Larissa on Thursday the 25th. This is quite crucial to one of the regulars who is away on the Saturday but could make the Sunday. Are we changing the date or are we really intending to play 2 games in less than 48 hours?

I am pretty sure this will be changed, should be changed to the Sunday, or I hope anyway, we don’t want to lose three points away to derby because of the lie of fixture list!

You can get bet your life that two fixtures in as many days is likely to happen. Players, fatigue, and common sense make way for money, tv revenue, and profit seekers. Wont be long now before were playing four or five fixtures a week. It all goes back to 1985 when we were denied the treble because it was deemed necessary to play in the cup final just three days after the cup winners cup final in holland. Its just got worse in the following years.

All games involving UEFA cup teams are played on the Sunday. OS just hasn’t updated yet.

Collected 4 tickets tonight from the club but only 3 of us can make it if it is on the Saturday. An official told me that the FA hadn’t sanctioned the move yet but that the game will move to Sunday, 99% certain.

My point is that EFC have been selling the tickets ever since the Metallist game without a warning that the date might change. If anyone buys a ticket and can’t go when the game changes to the Sunday, they must be due their money back.

I’m afraid it’s just another small example of how the club needs to improve its PR.
