How many Evertonians will be making the Nuremberg trip
Comments (37)
I have just booked my trip on the net and the hotels seem to be filling up in Nuremberg and the flights too. Anyone got any idea how many will be travelling? Someone said they reckon about 7,000 ? it is an easy place to get to so maybe more than 7,000 will decide to go.

I have been working in Nurenberg for 2 years, sound city, very compact and a few decent boozers (kings arms red light district English Boozer) The locals reckon only a few hundred will come over well I have told them to expect a few thousand I cant wait anyway, dream for me to see my club in the city I have made home.

There is quite a few scousers living in Nuremberg, they work for electrical companies and mobile phone companies. I am on a 12 month contract over here and couldnt believ it when we got the draw. I cant wait for next month. If your looking for a good jolly this is the town, good red light district, lappies everywhere, good ale houses and the ground is pretty good 41’000 capacity no boozers by the ground though but its only 5 minutes on the tram. If anyone is comming over and looking for hotels try and stay in the old town, its were everthing is, pubs food and brothels. COYB lets take this town and show what great supporters the Blue half of the city are.

Comming over from Santa Monica for a few weeks and it coincides with the UEFA tie in Germany, there are quite a few blues over here and a few are flying into Frankfurt from LAX on the morning of the game, does anybody know how long the train takes from Frankfurt to Nuremberg or would it be better to pick a internal flight up??
Tony Mc
Posted 12/10/2007 at 11:04:05
Steve K it takes 2 half hours from Frankfert airport non stop fair return is about 40 quid, go to http://www.bahn.co.uk/db_uk/view/index.shtml to book a ticket. You can fly from Frankfert to nuremberg for about 60 quid return with Lufthansa takes about 45 minutes. The transport is second to none and the train for me is the only way to travel over here.

Nurenberg will be the opportunity for most Blues to have an away trip this year. Kharkiv was not really accessable and Alkmaar is close to Xmas and likely to get less than 1000 tickets for that game.
Apparently UEFA states we get at least 5% so 2000 approx minimum but I think there will be potentially double that. They may be next to bottom in their league but they average 40,000 for their home games
15 of us are flying from Stansted to Frankfurt on the Wed and coming back on the Friday, flights were only £12 return (know of a few more who took advantage of this flight/price) and staying in 1 of the 3 Ibis Hotels that are now all full.
Should be an excellent trip, cant wait.

Steve K - Just check you are flying to Frankfurt International or Frankfurt City. We were on the verge of booking internal flights or the train when we realised we were flying to Frankfurt Hahn airport which is 120km in the wrong direction

I would estimate 5000 minimum. We are into Frankfurt on the Thursday morning and ICE train to Nurenberg is about £30 return. Staying Thursday and Friday night. Expect the place to be rammed with THE PEOPLE.

From the Wirral but living in Dublin now for the past year.
Flying from here to Munich on my tod on the Thursday morning and flying back on the Saturday morning. Getting the train to Nuremberg from Munich and only takes an hour where I’ll be meeting my brother and some mates who are flying over on the Wednesday.
So if any other Blues see me on my own in Munich, feel free to take me under your wing!!

Thought there was a decent chance of getting a ticket for this game but looks like it may be a bit of struggle. Was so bladdered in Villareal I remember none of the game, just the night before in Valencia and the car park before the match. Looks like this will be similar, if not bigger and better. Bring it on.

Guys,
Devastated that I will be missing the game due to work commitments in the Middle East; two of my brothers have booked so at least some of my family are there. Should be able to get a signal and pick the game up on evertonfc website.
Good luck to those who are traveling, have a safe journey and do us all proud in Europe.

Red Lights,Lappies,7000 Evertonians decending on Nuremberg. Now your talkin my kind of language baby.Lets have it right here boys this is not all about the football. The Eufa cup is garbagge. The way I see it this is a chance to show Europe what a big club we really are.Not many clubs even the ones involved in the CL can dream of the kind of away support Everton can drum up.We are on the march
and I remember back in the 80s when we took 25.000 to Rotterdam for the Cup Winners cup. What a sight.Villareal away I sat in thier main stand and when I looked around 3/4 of the ground had Evertonians
in there. If you want to see how big we once were go on youtube and put in Everton Fa cup 1966 home coming.Blows away the Red shite 2005 CL home coming party. No team including Liverpool or Man Ure would take the numbers we will take for a Eufa cup game.Sure they can get big numbers for finals or when they play Euro giants but we take big firms who ever we play.See you there boys.

Completely agree Tony. We bring lots of fans whether its a big game or a little. The Mancs and Kopite are big game fans as far as im concerened. Did anyone see there attendance for the Porto away game this season? It was only half full whereas our away end in the ukraine of all places is packed.
I cant get to the Nuremberg game but I?ll defo be at the AZ Alkmaar game. Anyone going to Holland? I cant wait to be honest. Lets hope the blue boys can give us something to shout about.

Me and my two mates are flying out of Manchester at 6.50 the morning of the game,1 hour stop in Paris then get into Nuremberg about 11.30am. Staying in the Leanardo Hotel in the old town. That should leave us plenty of time to sample the local amber nectar and then on to the game. We are staying until the saturday morning and leave from Nuremberg about 11.00am and back into Manchester for around 13.50pm. Managed to do all this for £280 which isn’t bad considering the way flight prices were hiked up.There seems to be plenty of hotels inthe city but it would be interesting to here where other blues are staying.Does anyone actually know the city and the best places to have a drink.Have had a look on a few web sites for bars, but they seem a bit sketchy.I have read that Nuremberg have a couple of their best players out and are struggling 2nd from bottom of the Bundesliga. Can’t wait to get over there and see just how many we take.
C’mon you blues
